Have to be held to account for everything we do... Strictly speaking they have to have a valid reason for stopping and searching/accounting you but... (from a personal opinion here as I've experienced), they'll stop you just to get their figures up. My team are given targets to stop 30 people a month which I refuse to do as we're not allowed to be given targets... so you find innocent people being stopped for merely standing on a street corner waiting for a friend. I call them dirty stops and I hate them. But saying that if there is a legitimate reason for stopping someone then we'll do it... I.e. youths hanging around in an area known to us for drug dealing and taking...

It's more along the lines of... "I'm searching you under Section 23(Drugs)/Section 60(Knives)"... Conduct the search and then take your mobile apart and get the IMEI number. And you should always get a stop and search slip at the end of it. If you don't then request one be filled out... Even if PCSO's ask for your details, we're supposed to fill out a stop and account slip so request one (although there might be times when a stop and search/account form isn't available so you can just pick it up from the station they operate out of).

In all honesty... We're supposed to do that in the MET now... Whenever someone is stopped and searched we're supposed to take the IMEI number as well to check if it's stolen... Whether officers actually do it or not is a different story but we sure as hell don't...

Hit the nail on the head here... It is vandalism and is in fact Anti-Social thus why they move you on and so on... As for the chavs, I speak only from personal experience but maybe they're dealing with them without you even realising? They might be looking at ways to deal with them. It's all very well searching them there and then but the fact is if you don't find anything on them (which you won't the majority of the time) then there's nothing they can do except look for long term solutions such as finding out where they're getting the drugs and raiding the houses. All this takes time and so even though it may seem like they're not dealing with them they probably are but it's a long drawn out procedure. Maybe find your local Safer Neighbourhoods team and have a word with them to voice your concerns about getting a park or something similar set up?

Strictly speaking you can have a passport renewed in one day at a place in London as my colleague did. But the fact is... This is my FIRST ADULT PASSPORT and so therefore I can't just get the thing done in one day as technically speaking I don't appear on their system as I've never had my own passport, just been under my parents passports when I was young and so just going to these places isn't going to help me as they have to do all the checks on me and so on thus not being able to get the thing done in one day. If I could I would believe me.

Cheers for all the replies guys. I rang today and the guy said it should take between 3-6 weeks. He said it's usually 6 weeks if you messed up the form and everything else but I'm doing the check and send so there shouldn't be a problem there. To be honest if I miss out on Paris i wouldn't be fussed haha. Ahh well. See how it goes

It says on the website that I can't do the same day Premium thing as it's my first Adult passport. I'll just ring tomorrow like I said and see what they say.

I live in London so I'm assuming that there'll be an interview center in London... I don't mind paying the extra to get it done quicker. Just want to get it done really. My own fault as I stated before.

Nah I know I should've got it done quicker but for some reason I didn't think I needed to rush until now haha. My own fault I know... Well on the website its got a section where it says about "going on holiday in under two weeks" and they can urgently rush through it... I'll give them a ring tomorrow and see what they say. Maybe throw in that I work for the police and have signed the official secrets act and maybe they'll leave the interview out haha (I can dream can't I?!) And JT... I'm doing the post officer check thing so they check the documents for me and so on... So hopefully no problemo there

Right the dilemma is as follows... Going Paris in October on the 12th I believe. Only just filled out my application form and hope to get it sent off tomorrow. Now it's my first adult passport as I was on my mum and dads before when I was a wee nipper but I haven't been abroad since 1995!!! How long does the process take as it looks as though I'll have to go for the interview what with it being my first adult passport and all that jazz... Will I get it back in time for the holiday? I'll be travelling via EuroStar and my sister seems to think my UK Drivers license is adequate id although I highly doubt that but just thought I'd check to see... So yeah how buggered am I and what are the chances of me getting it back in time for my holiday? Is there anyway I can get the thing done quicker? Cheers

Hey all. As the title says really... Anyone had Tonsillitis as an adult and had to have their Tonsils removed? If so what was your procedure like and how painful is it after Surgery? Had it last week and it cleared up at the end of the weekend but it's come back even worse now and so I'm on Antibiotics but the doctor hinted that I may have to attend the hospital so was just curious as to the procedure and pain... I must sound like a wuss but I'd rather get the problem sorted and get back to work asap. Cheers

Right getting on quite well with a lady and took her to the cinema last night and then out for a drink so we could have a talk. Got all cosy and snuggled up and it was really nice. She wants me to take the weekend off work now so we can go out. I live in London so getting around isn't a problem... Just stuck for ideas for things we can do? Any suggestions? I was thinking a look around the shops, a bite to eat, go for a walk around and maybe go and laze in the park for a bit... Any other suggestions?

I Loved it! Excellent film and I'd deffo go see it again! I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it and in my opinion it's one of the best Pixar movies I've seen! Excellent work from them and I'll deffo be going to see it again. I'll easily give it 5 out of 5! Excellent.
