  1. This seems to have become a 'list the bike people I like' thread.
  2. You can use the FourCC utility to convert the file to DivX and then play it in DivX.
  3. You could buy one from Ashton, although they are about £16. Or you could phone him up, explain the situation and ask if he has any old black ones (which they don't sell anymore) that he could put your way. Like Monkey says, it'll look similar to the Ashton with the seat on... hang on there a sec... just held up my spare (you can't have it I'm afraid) seat to a Coustellier bike and it looks a bit out-of-place...
  4. It's all good publicity for the sport - plenty of kids will have gone out into the street to try some things out. I remember being monster inspired having seen Ashton on Record Breakers. Must have been a bit nerve wracking, all those cameras and that... (Y)--> QUOTE(danny B @ Oct 5 2005, 06:08 PM) ← My brother is only 12 how many of you lot were that good at that age? Can't comment on Ashley's abilities because I haven't seen him ride, but I started when I was 17, and most of us made do with the bikes we could (ill) afford at the time and had little or no parental support... or maybe it was just me, sniff... :D--> QUOTE(danny B @ Oct 5 2005, 06:50 PM) ← yeh the publicity is being used to get the women. ...but luckily I didn't need my bike to get girls for me.
  5. Oh I see, it was a simple lampoon... I haven't done 45 yet, but I'll be chuffed if I do...
  6. Vincent (team koxx) nicely showing that the same person on the same bike can win World series UCI and BIU events... Well done Vinny.
  7. What's wrong with a bit of self belief? As far as Monkey's last post, I agree. Some of the spelling/grammar on this site is atrocious. Especially Pete Wright - he writes backward sentences with words mixed up or missing, characters missing and whatnot. Worse than that is txt type...
  8. ^^^ who is this guy??? 57.5? I take my hat off to you. I was trying 45 the other day and it looked impossible... even if I make it you'll have done a WHOLE FOOT more!
  9. But a forum though... in the end I binned the LondonTrials forum because there was no point - anybody that would ever have used it was on TF or Section7, so there seemed little point. And I think you'll find most trials riders won't know what PHP is.
  10. They already know, that's why they're so fat. Oh, but I love eating, it's fun! What's with low calorie food? The whole point of food is to get calories.... need energy, need fuel. If you're going to take the lift every morning to the first f**king floor and sit on your arse all day, don't damn well EAT! Gooodddd....
  11. The WTP seems to be a bit better spec, as it has a chrome front rim and a sealed BB. Other than that they're quite close. Chrome rims give better braking performance, but then if you don't want a front brake it's irrelevant.
  12. Yeah, Japs in WW2, Serbs in Bosnia...
  13. Oh yeah, and if you run a gyro/detangler run twin cables all the way down from the lever. Dragonfly do one for the top part (lever to gyro) and then you can run Slic cables from the gyro to the caliper. But that's only if/when you buy new brakes.
  14. On the whole brakes aren't that important to most BMX buyers. If you spend £350, chances are the upgrades will be... Front chrome rim Sealed BB Better pedals Full 4130 chromo frame Cassette hub Get the best bike you can afford, then get some plazmatic pads. They'll cost about £15 a pair, but are worth it. Run these on a clean chrome rim and the brake will be good. I bought a BMX for £270 then spent £100 on brakes, then £150 on a cassette rear wheel. You can just upgrade the bits when you want to. You don't have to buy totally new brakes straight away, just try the pads. Besides, you'll probably find you need a good brake less than you think...
  15. Not being able to do what I did yesterday.
  16. Ok, it would be interesting to know the answers to Damon's questions, HOWEVER.... what we don't need here is every member rolling in to say 'I can sidehop 42"', because as we know this is nowhere near 'the highest people have heard of' and just generates 6 pages of, well, rubbish. EDIT: That wasn't aimed at you JIX, it was a comment I decided to make having read the first post - your point is important too and I see where you're coming from.
  17. I see so many 'homophobic' people turn their noses up in disgust when they encounter 'a rascist', but they're discriminating themselves. The number of people at work who say 'that's gay', etc, then they cry their eyes out if someone says a bad word about a foreigner... I reckon you're like that. That's a bit of a cop-out isn't it? 'You're a twat'. Not very descriptive... think what you mean is that you find Monkey annoying and don't know how to handle it. He's actually a nice bloke if you're not a complete retard - don't feel threatened just because he has a brain... Back to the point. I think what is best is a bike that lets you do trials stuff (sidehop, tap, gap, whatever) but is still fun to ride. That's why my bike measures 1055mm exactly. It's comfortable on rocks and trialsy moves, but if I want to muck about I can. For the millionth time, it's about having fun not counting the inches!
  18. £250 will get you a decent enough BMX, but the brakes won't be up to much. You could try plazmatic pads but in the end I bought new levers (Dia-tech Dirty Harry) and new calipers (Odyssey Evolver). The brakes cost £100 in total on top of the price of the bike, but the performance is worth it. Look at the Hoffman Disrupter, they're excellent. Also see if anywhere is selling the '05 model Disrupter IL1 cheap, as you might find that for under £250. I paid £270 last November and RRP was around £330, so you'd be getting a bargain. Comes with... chrome rear rim, Odyssey 13T freewheel, 3-pc cranks and the forks have U-brake mounts (and a brake).
