i turned some aluminium ones for my monty bars. they're the shit. über tight press fit, they will never ever come off.

metal backings are really good. use them! i'd find it hard to see how they'd reduce braking power, but then again, maguras seem to not care about newton and his stupid laws... and about the whole deng "warranty broked if make use CNC backing yes for trials", the same goes for magura as far as i know. just use them, the risk of a snapped piston is quite slim. i've snapped one since i started using the first pair of heatsink prototypes in 2005... i am still on the same pair of backings, so they're quite durable.

tests as in actual ones with skilled people involved or just internet ones? because the internet ones say i have borderline... did an aspergers test for kicks once and i had a mild case of that too. sucks if you're depressed "fo realz". try to enjoy daylight or something, darkness always makes me feel shite anyway. (the band included, they're terrible).

series one was far superior, second series feels a bit half arsed now that the novelty of everyone being naked and doing drugs has worn off. last ep was pretty good though.

Amazing brakes. I needs them. Just gives me one less thing to worry about. I like to focus on getting the bike up and down stuff and not having to think about brake slip. My brake is a bit slippy now, should regrind it..

it'll be fine. i didn't ride much my first year at uni, but that was my own choice. i focused on getting to know people (new city) and to get my studies going well. after the first year i continued riding on and off. i've got plenty of time to kill between studying sessions, and i'm supposed to be on a 50+ hour study week...

can't believe this thread has over 600 views. thanks for the comments people. danny and sam has a lot more footage from that week, should be two great videos! as for my video making.. going to have to get more footage as i have absolutely none. might go for a few more ~30 sec videos just for the hell of it, unless everybody hates them.
