it's well fun. caustic soda is lethal, it's amazing seeing the smoke and hearing the fizz and the ano just comes off.. i'd do it for shits and giggles.

    Chemicals

i did this the other day. i bought caustic soda in powder form. i mixed it 1 part with 3 parts of warm water, stirring the powder in. should be a bit of smoke/fumes from it, so do wear something over your mouth and nose if you wanna take long, and glasses and gloves to prevent your eyes/hands coming off. then just dip whatever you wanna strip into the liquid. it should develop more smoke, and eventually, the colour will come off with a nice sizzling sound. you can brush the colour off if it won't come off after a little while.
  6. buyall tour mk1. meeting up with strangers in another country, best thing i've ever done.
  7. i'd say try contacts more, touching one's eyes DOES feel akward as hell at first, but after a while.. i changed to contacts in june, a decision i have not regretted once. It is soooo much more convenient than glasses.. and Tomm, about losing contacts, it's VERY hard to. I have not lost one of mine yet, and i've been swimming, showering, riding, partying, etc in them, no problems. I can rub my eyes until i go blind but not lose a contact, i have to concentrate to get them off my eyes.. it's different from person to person of course, but i can't see a soft lense falling out... maybe diving with open eyes, but who the hell does that anyway?! cleaning contacts is a chore the first two-three weeks, but after that, it's not a problem. takes about 3 minutes a day to pop in and out and clean.. if you're feeling lazy, just leave them in fluid over night and clean them in the morning, so you can bring the little container for them in your pocket with fluid in, and just drop them down if you're at a party and don't feel like going home again.. you're fine as long as you don't make a it a bad habit, so only once a week or so. i'd like laaaazzzzer surgery, but i don't want to break my eyes.
  8. i can not get over the fact that sam has got his hair cut. good video there, wouldn't have hurt if you had taken two steps back on some of the shots, but i know the feeling, it's hard to film in places like that, i have just come home from doing the same, it is awkward...
  9. 25 fps for PAL. Because Premiere deinterlaces by bob when you slo-mo at 50%, and then drops every other (uneven) field/frame. Doesn't work very good for me in pro though, worked better/smoother in 6.5 for some reason.. meh, stupid computer things.
  10. that depends on the spacers between the cogs. 7 and 8 speed cassettes have wider spacers than 9 speed ones, so you need to know what width the spacers are.
  11. i'll try mr bäckgren's bike next week, i'll write a line here if i remember to..
  12. i just give mine beans. has only come loose once, and that was when the stupid bikeshop didn't tighten it up, which was a fair while ago.. They're not hard to get off, just use a chain whip..

    Pad Reviews

Pads: Coust 50 mm, aluminium backings Time used: Since summer I think. Rim used: Try-All Grind: Yes/No Medium/deep down to worn (now) Brake used: Magura/V '05 HS33, water bleed. Other pads I've used: Brown bloxx, plaz crm, plaz spanishfly, monty x-lite, monty milk, koolstop, maggie black, plaz fjas, heatsink B, heatsink C, heatsink blue. What is your opinion of a working brake:Hold, grab, rain performance. How do they compare to previous pads you have used: Best ever. Review: They lock the wheel. Work in the pissing rain, snow, slush, whatever. Work in -5°C, sun, etc. Am on the first grind on Try-All rim, still working well good. Wear rate is good, about 1/3 gone since the summer, so not that bad. Never had a brake as good as this, and remember, this is on a tryall rim.
  14. i want a rocking brake, but not in that sense. 50mm pads is the way i reckon, but what do i know...

    New Bt Video

smooth as always.. i should be getting better skatepark footage soon though.
  16. that's how sam wheeler's tyres look without a rider on the bike.
  17. just practise practise practise practise practise and some more. seriously, it's all about giving it proper pasty, letting the back wheel roll a little on the object when swapping, makes it loads easier. watch some of felix mücke's videos, he has the technique pretty dialled with letting the front brake go and rolling on the back wheel...
  18. Yeah because everyone knows that friction is affected by the surface area.
  19. why 35mm short blocks instead of the regular 50mm? I have never heard of anyone being happy with the 35mm length for any longer period of time...
