  1. I've taken the bait.... why would you say he's not a trials rider? I know it's maybe putting him in a box saying he is, but his last video had hooks, gaps (including some gap drops most TGS riders would be proud of), sidehops, wheels swaps on rails and natural. I would say that was trials.

    Riding Shoes

I know I am more confident to try things when I know I am not going to slip off the pedals, so good shoes do make you a better rider.

    Riding Shoes

indeed, been using five tens for a while and they are amazing!
  4. even the getting lost part? I really enjoyed the night, it was really cool to have Loch Lommond there to play live! The documentary was actually pretty cool (though could have benefited without the interviewee being a bit cringe-worthy at times). It's really good to see behind the scenes and see the characters of people involved as well as the hard work and planning that went into it. I also thought it was really funny that Danny's van had a parking ticket outside the venue.
  5. get some good pads and a grind, pads makes all the difference.
  6. I wouldn't be worrying too much about the weight of the bike personally, my bike weighs over 11kg and Danny's bike is heavier yet.
  7. didn't think they were showing it until sunday?

I used to gap off the rock to the far left to the lumpy bit where the rear wheel is. Either that or gap to 90 through the gates, I very much doubt I would have sidehopped it.
  9. I think with a Hope it might be alright, but a 175mm would be better. I was going to sort one out with them but didn't bother in the end. If you had a #5 caliper you could bosh a +40 on there and you could run a 190. Could theoretically do the same with your #3 if you put a +20, but it's a bit bigger/bulkier/sticky-outier than the +40 so it might flex more/cane your fork. As Matt said, Hope could probably sort you out! This was Mark on Ali's account, btw.
  10. that was fun! I love crashes like that, ones that look funny but don't hurt. I wasn't particually fussed about getting that line so I didn't go out of my way to land it, plenty of time to try something like that later.
  11. only good if your brake mounts are straight and you don't use an angled sidewalled rim
  12. with you being on a trials forum owning a trials bike and asking questions about trials related things I didn't think you were a downhiller. If you are like me and you go to ride somewhere, hills are often something that needs to be navigated. Some people tend to drag brakes when going down them, if you do this it will make your rim smooth, hence, don't do it. What pads are they out of interest? I have a rather huge hatred of Maguras, about as useful as an arse on your elbow they are.
  13. I mean if you are going down a hill or wanting to slow down, don't drag the brakes to slow down. If you have a disc use that or if you have ground rims front and rear (fail) then use your feet on the floor or tyre
  14. one way of putting it is you WILL crack the forks using a magge, how long depends on what moves you do, how smooth you are and how often you ride. Urbans may last you a year, they may last you a week. However, you could get some Trialtech forks and relish in the good design and thought that has gone into them and watch as they don't crack (well, nowhere near as soon anyway)
  15. gutted I couldnt make it last year 2009 was amazing, loads of cool music, loads of cool people, loads of cool things to ride and loads of Czech drink. I really recommend going to this, I am going to try my best to make it!

    Blu-Ray

another vote for Avatar, I was REALLY impressed with the visuals and the story was pretty good too (if slightly predicable)
  17. I have a couple of stories, I am not sure ghosts are what people are actually sensing, tiredness can cause hallucinations, a machine or electrical appliance can emit frequencies that can cause eyes to slightly vibrate and cause hallucinations. Noises I am not sure how to explain I am sure there is scientific reason for noises,or perhaps at a time of heightened energy, things like brick can "record" that energy and release it at a later date. Either way, the house that I spent the past 26 years in (I was actually born in one of the bedrooms) was built in 1792 and is a listed building, I have heard footsteps on the upstairs corridor. My mum said that when myself, my brother and sister were young she used to hear children playing and laughing on the same corridor, she said she wasn't scared as it noises of good times. Once we were playing hide and seek with a few friends in the house, my parents were out and we made it so nowhere was off limits. The person seeking went into the attic (pretty scary, no lights up there, loads of junk, old floorboards etc) and saw someone move behind something to hide, he went to look but couldn't find anyone. He went downstairs found and eventually found us. He asked who hid in the attic but non of us had gone up there, spooky. I never really liked being in that house, didn't dare go in half of it when it was dark, could never go in the attic or basement on my own. My grandpa said he used to see things in the seating areas of a theatre he used to work at too.
  18. have done with mine, so far it's all good.

The way you worded it implied you thought it was sort of indirectly implied towards you, when if you're putting effort into a video then it wouldn't have been. I assumed Matt was refering to the standard poorly filmed, poorly edited sorta thing people seem to put out quite often. There are some cool ones but like everyone's been saying things seem to be quite sort of formulaic, plus dubstep type music seems to be very popular at the moment and I don't really like it for trials videos This was Mark, btw...

I think people think I hate TGS.....and they would mostly be right. HOWEVER, it's not the riding I dislike, the top guys who go huge are entertaining to watch and I could never imagine going as big as they do, it's very impressive. It's more the fact that some TGS wannabes are usually the same type of person. Usually loud, largely inconsiderate to the public, often rude and generally the type of person that I don't get on with. I know I am pigeon holing a lot of people into the same box, I realise there ARE perfectly nice people who ride TGS and I have total respect for them, but the others give that type of riding a bad name. Well perhaps it's not TGS riders, more the ones that JUST do sidehops.

I didn't enjoy Kickass as much as I was expecting, but to flip reverse that I enjoyed Scott Pilgrim V The World more than I was expecting.
