  1. Here we go, its finally up and running. Riders and media stuff will be up in the next couple of days. www.necopads.co.uk
  2. The smooth rim (red pads) compound is still being finalised, however the light grind pads are ready to go and are currently available. (Website currently hosted on freewebs until specific hosting is confirmed)
  3. I'm the same. Pour some water on and leave it, unless its really deep then get stitches and forget about it. A week off school for that is ridiculous. I can see the deal with not riding on it for a little while till the skins knitted back together (a week or two tops) but that isn't going to get infected with a bandage on it like that and it won't get pulled open through walking around as the stitches are holding it in place. Obviously don't go playing footbal/rugby at school but you can still go to lessons fine.
  4. Your having a week off because of just five stitches? Flip got a shin dig in leicester the other day and that needed 13 stitches and he carried on riding with it for the rest of the day. Pansy
  5. Its not really on the same sort of theme as the rest of these but if anyone likes space sci-fi novels then the knights dawn trilogy by Peter F. Hamilton is absolutely amazing, although quite long. It consists of three books, The Reality Dysfunction, The Naked God and finally the Neutroneum Alchemist. Each single book is larger than the entire lord of the rings trilogy so its definately not one for the faint hearted.
  6. Heavy weight for me, not suprising really. According to my housemates body fat measurement i'm around 18-19%
  7. Should have two sets of pads available, the yellows for light grinds first then the reds for smooth rims to follow shortly pending current testing and analysis.
  8. To be fair, your just isolating yourselves even further. If its a thread as simple as this why limit people by saying three quarters of the forum can't post in it? Full members have been through validation and subsequently earned the right to post everywhere like adam said. Fair enough, just ask for people to keep it as a generic pre-defined reply with no side conversations, but trying to whinge about full members taking the time to answer your question thats been asked a thousand times without posting any crap or arguing about is pretty childish. As for me...
  9. Like has been said already, use the search mate. There was a topic about these pads literaly 2 days ago so you would have had your answer quicker than asking again and waiting for more replies.

Erm, mate... if its that bad come and stop at my house, f**king hell.
  11. First scenario i'm the same as tunni and damon and a lot more riders i'm sure. Its just the way that feels comfiest for me i guess. I can't get my head around which way of doing it has the best mechanical advantage although from what i can gathe rin my head if i was to twist my bike at too much of an angle in gapping the wrong side i'm sure i'd get my foot caught/resticted under the downtube. With my lead foot pointing away from the gap i can flip the bike at a sideways angle mid gap with y lead foot being happily over the toptube rather than wrapped under it. Scenario 2 i'm the same as you too. Again, personal preference i guess. Though if i was to start swinging left on rails i'd be able to hit my chain easier (tiny bash).
  12. Filtering search terms actually isn't that hard. They'd just have to filter the word rapidshare and it wouldn't work as well. What you need on google is: "intitle:index of" metallica .mp3 Searches for any sites with metallica mp3's and lists the files so you can just right click and save as. Found some right random ones that weren't on limewire using that.
  13. Ermm, no... it isn't ;egal. You bought the cd and the law in this country currently stands as you not owning the rights to the song, but owning the license to use the song on that cd. Its also still technically illegal to copy music from cd's onto you ipod, which is something currently going through at the minute for being changed (probably because a lot of judges also own an ipod )
  14. Mono trials are also known for having the seals leak, melt and pistons stick. In my past experience the mono trials has been completely tempremental, working fine one day and not working at all the next. Only a few bb7's have snapped so don't let that put you straight off. They're cheap, extremely powerful and easy to set up and maintain. With the amount of riders that use them theres obviously going to be a few that fail, but people speak very highly of them.
  15. Smooth rim, neco reds... lightly ground rim = neco yellows. Not available for sale yet but enquiries into purchases and pricing can be made by visiting the website (just an image at the minute ) or sending an email.
  16. Won't be able to make tuesday till the evening myself as i'm busy for the most part of the day, wednesday on the other hand... free aaaaaaalllllll day
  17. Ermmm, thats being able to tell a difference surely? If your convinced ones different to the other then your saying you've noticed a difference? No, same amount of pull, just the oil is so damn thick and clumsy it takes ages to get to full lock. Then even longer to fully release again.
  18. It might look like an insult, but i'd personally rather have done something like misbleed a brake than be adamant that i could tell the difference with something that clearly isn't distuinguishable. In order to tell the differences between the two fluids compression limits you'd need a full lab setup and even then the differences are next to nothing. To say you can tell the difference with so many other factors involved is just stupid (not saying you are). The only possible difference is that your seals weren't great and the water, being slightly thinner, was either leaking out or letting air in. What i reckon you might be confused with is the viscosity of the two liquids. Basically the water is easier to push through the system as its not as thick, so you can pull the lever and it gets pushed round faster meaning it seems to pull past the bite point faster. With oil in, the lever puts up more resistance because of the thicker fluid and therefore it takes longer to get to the same point that water does, which might be something you don't pick up on as its happening slower. Even then its only a marginal difference and isn't really ever commented on. The plain and blunt truth is water has a faster response time, doesn't lube the pistons and might freeze in winter. Oil feels slower/heavier at the lever, lubes the pistons and won't freeze. Neither damage the insides of the magura and neither make the brake more powerful or more squidgy than the other.
  19. Technically, there shouldn't be a capital on the front of "You've" as a comma doesn't make a new sentence, but acts as a short pause.
  20. That sidehop at 2.00.... didn't count All joking aside though, good video mate. I can see what the others are saying about lines, but it IS mentioned in the topic title to be fair so you did deliver exactly what you promised. Some pretty big stuff in there too, with a nice bb snap Good to see your out and about again though.
  21. I can honestly say that in all my time on here i can't recall someone ever stating that they're able to tell the difference between the compression rates of two liquids, especially through a brake. The viscosity of the fluids is more obvious, but the levels of compression between two liquids being notable by your index finger is a ridiculous statement, one that it would appear you have no knowledge over before making. Lets say for instance you can tell the difference, the differences between them are so rediculously minimal that in order to tell the difference between them for definate you'd need to have a completely solid frame and mount setup. Not the slightest amount of flex is allowed. You'd also need pads that don't compress, obviously the pads will be softer than a shore of 95a so will have a certain amount of squidge to them. Due to the pressure of you pulling the brake your pads will compress which is a visible process (meaning they compress a lot), so in order to tell the microscopic difference between the compression rates of water and oil you'd need to have solid pads, like a block of metal. Theres also the possibility of the backing flexing so to rule that out you'd need a metal backing. The brake would need a perfect bleed both times and with the TPA in exactly the same place to rule out a difference in the lever biting point. If i sat you down with 10 unlabeled identical (aside from some oil bled and some water) brakes and told you to pull each one past the bite point you wouldn't be able to tell me if its a water or an oil bleed based solely on the compression limit.
  22. I'm pretty sure the 8800gt will be better. The larger memory only helps with playing games at large resolutions (meaning it uses large textures) or with some 3d rendering work. The 8600gt isn't that great, but the 8800gt's are, so its definately worth getting that one instead. As for hdmi, its basically just the standard DVI format but with a different pin configuration, you can pick up DVI-HDMI cables from all sorts of places, i got one off amazon for £1.70. Don't be pulled in with the whole gold plated super shielded malarky, its a completely digital signal so it doesn't get affected by better contacts or radio interferance in the same way VGA signals do. On a side note thats also the same for standard HDMI ones. The £100+ cables made by companies like monster are just trying to cash in on the publics naivity, gold contacts and better shielding doesn't do shit, neither do the expensive cables offer a better picture than ones for under £10. Anybody who says it does is either lying or too retarded to know the difference .
  23. My "magnesium" pedals are nicer than my ally ones and they hold up alright. The ally pedals seemed to get scratches just as easily and neither have broken yet so strength doesn't seem to be an issue. The magnesiums are a lot lighter though which can only be a good thing. I know it isn't a frame comparison but if the frames can perform as well as the pedals then thats great. I personally think theres a few noticeably flexy frames available, i think monty's are too flexible but people still buy them. I don't think many people can give an honest and substantial opinion though as they're too new to the mainstream and while we can all have our theories and "i heard that magnesiums frames are....." scenarios, they don't really mean shit without trying them first hand.
  24. Had the same truvativ isis bottom bracket for ages now, well over a year and it was second hand when i got it. Not had any problems with it aside from creaking after its been used in the rain... nothing a bit of oil/grease doesn't fix. Had problems with squares rounding off and when i snapped my last one i just went isis and never looked back.
