  1. I loved mine, absolutely great fun. They just bunnyhopped over everything and anything you rode towards, even with any ridiculous size stem on them. They sit well on the back wheel and flick happily onto it because of the short chainstays. While they aren't long by todays standards they are fast and responsive, so if your looking to do trials and have fun pulling off manuals, bunnyhops and spins they're a perfect choice. For the money as well its worth buying one just to see how you fair with it before moving onto something else. I had mine for well over a year and i'm heavy and not too smooth so don't listen to the people who say they break a lot (usually the kind of person that starts dropping off 7-8 foot drops before being able to gap 3 feet).
  2. Some laptops also come with the vista recovery software based as a seperate partition rather than a disc so be sure to back that up as well. What sort of spec is the laptop though, for me, vistas been anything but slow. Apart from playing crysis and supreme commander, vista is faster at everything compared to XP.
  3. Thats how you thumbstart. Its tricky at first but you'll soon get the hang of it. Failing that, just get something to spin the inside bit as fast as you can.
  4. He said WHERE not WHY Heatsink website, if they're still on offer they'll be on the main page/pads page.
  5. Thats not bodgy enough I once did that with a coke bottle and a sharp stone
  6. Unfotunately you get what you pay for. The shimano deore stuff is generally crap because its made to a smaller budget. If its going on the back of a trials bike you'll want a disc brake with an amazing amount of bite and hold. The deore brakes don't really lock up very well and they have far too much modulation. So if you were to try one for trials it would be very hard to get it to lock up properly when you land anything, the result would be that you end up looping out and falling on your arse/back/head.
  7. I had the manual dream last night. It was great, i was manual'ing down the road with ease. Might go out later as i'm convinced i've got the technique dialled now
  8. But most of the really good riders are full members and the ones kids look up to, like tunni/damon/danny mac/swindlehurst/(insert name here) generally are.
  9. If thats the case the guy organising it isn't allowed to go either. I swear, if this happened the opposite way for full members everyone'd be complaining about not letting new people learn from riders better than themselves etc. Half the fun of going to a ride is to see the really good people and being amazed at what they can do.
  10. Yeah, that was me for the leicester section. Worked out how to whack images in and stuck up all the relevant ones i had on the pc at the time. You can have images and text, but it doesn't space out properly, i think its possible to have an Alt text on the image so when you hover over the picture the text pops up... but i don't know if i ever got round to doing it. But yeah, the system is already in place.
  11. Don't bump, its classed as spamming the forum with useless posts.... which is against the rules. Bumps are only allowed in the classifieds section.
  12. They have indeed removed the 04 ones from the site!
  13. Chainreactioncycles still sell 04 levers. They don't. Quick release magura mounts are designed for 2 bolt mounts, ie vee brake mounts. You'll need new clamps.
  14. Polygon tool, copy the frame to a new layer, whack the brightness down and the contrast up then use a gaussian blur so it matches the rest of the soft looking image.
  15. Be careful, kennard got suspended for doing something exactly like that, even getting it just one post out like you did. Anyway, yeah, good bump there, i'm sure we needed the topic again.
  16. That other picture is funny as hell. Good "photoshop" Here you go...
  17. They aren't re-welded though... they came like that. Thats how they were manufactured. It was me who said they're stock forks with the mounts in a different place in the last thread and i didn't say they'd been re-welded. Re-welding the mounts in a different place would ruin the heat-treating of the forks. They'd need to be heat treated again after you'd welded them and i don't think the forks would survive the forces that are put through them in trials after such a modification. Unless you have the equipment to cut the mounts off, re-weld them and heat treat the forks to the correct temperature afterwards along with the general knowledge on how to heat treat them efficiently, i wouldn't bother even thinking about it.
  18. The mod and stock versions are the same, with the mounts in different positions. They havn't been cut or re-welded, they are a pair of forks that are the same in size for both 20" and 26" with the only difference being the position of the 4 bolt mounts. The mounts are lower down on the legs on the 20" specific versions.
  19. They're the same for both 20" and 26" just with the mounts in a different place.
  20. Yeah, as the others have pointed out, images in signatures aren't allowed (that includes images solely of text). Thats why you won't have spotted any on the forum at all. Its nice for you to offer to do it for people though.
  21. Is the processor fan plugged in properly? Usually a motherboard fails to start or post if it doesn't detect that the cpu fan is operational for fear of damaging it. Would make sense too if the fans start up but it fails to do anything else.
  22. Me! I'm 6'5" and i look and feel retarded on a mod bike. They're far too cramped and kill the muscles in my back after going on them for a few minutes. To be comfortable i have to ride a 26" and a long one at that. I personally think there are very few riders over 6'1" who look good on a mod bike.
