  1. I think your already using the best trials based source of information available to you Problems are solved on here pretty quickly and theres so many users that a solution crops up pretty quickly, and if not theres hundreds of users who have a great deal of experience with bikes and can give you well educated guesses at how to fix any problems you should have. As well as there being multiple guides, walkthroughs, explanations and what not in the frequently asked questions section.
  2. ...... .......... yep, i am Still heavy though weighs like 26lbs
  3. Or click the alternate option, it has like accept and save, whichever one your using, use the other.... worked for me.
  4. Its not something i'd call light myself . Rear ends pretty tankish.
  5. I'm another loud brake lover... its the easiest way to check its working .
  6. Err, no, you won't "need" that. You don't need a hope spacer kit, you can use the spacers from in between your old cassette sprockets, or like me, use black pvc drainpipe of the right diameter cut to the right size (works fantastically btw) A gusset wide based cog is far cheaper, and you can even get away with usig one of the old sprockets off the cassette after taking it apart. Local bike shop should be able to take your cassette off for free or like £2 if their being VERY stingy. Failing that, get an old crappy cahin, wrap it around your existing sprocket, then tie the other end around your shoe and stand on it (holds it in place nicely). Then use a screwdriver and a hammer and lightly tap the lockring round. Should be far cheaper for you.
  7. I've had a go with an echo one, didn't feel all that different to be honest. Didn't feel stiffer, didn't work "better". It just looked nicer and i would imagine, is less prone to cracking like magura pistons/levers can.... thgouh without long term usage i wouldn't know. It WONT make your brake magically better. It WONT make your brake feel stiffer. The lever blade DOES feel horrible.
  8. Dear god your like 14 years old if that. If your going to get pissed go to bed when you get home, not on the forum. You'll end up being one of those bums that gets pissed, comes home watches tele, then beats the wife... as apposed to those who just crash on the sofa, stairs, table cat or any other nearby object of comfort.
  9. Precisely, kona stuff is 7005-t6, from what partz said the koxx is 6061... 7005 is generally slightly "stronger". Differences in toptubes however wont be as extreme as the downtube example you presented, you don't batter a coiler into walls repeatedly after failing to get up things. Where as the top tubes aren't generally hit as often in any form of riding so aren't generally changed a great deal. Obviously its going to have different thicknesses in tubing for the different types of riding, but what i was trying to say is since he fell onto his back i'd presume his bodyweight helped increase the force at which the frame hit the wall, resulting in a big fat dent. So as much as its unfortunate, its not exactly something that he should be so shocked about.
  10. On google? I've found you can find drivers for pretty much anything by typing in the model number.... even my sisters old £3 webcam she bought off ebay nearly 4 years ago. But re-installing off a restore CD is a piece of cake. Just stick the cd in, tell it what you want to do and leave it going till its finished. Then just take the disc out and switch it off, leaving it ready to be customised by the new owner, just like if they bought it new.
  11. My friend put his kona between a wall and a lamp post (which was about a foot away from the wall). The bike fell while we were eating and it fell from stationary against the wall, to hitting the lampost (a distance of around 10 inches). In doing so it left a nice big dent on his toptube, which was the main point of impact, and to this day he still has a dent around 2 inches long and a good 7-8mm deep. And this was the bikes weight falling a distance of around ten inches. I don't find it that hard to believe that you've managed to put a dent of that size into it while you've got a bigger swing and your body leverage, in fact i'm quite impressed as i'd imagine to to have been deeper if anything. You won't be able to claim it as a warranty, as its not a manufacturing fault. Sorry to put it so bluntly, but its your own fault, and an unfortunate accident at that, especially seeing as its so new.... i know i'd be kicking myself.
  12. Jonny ran his on a msooth rim for a little while and his brake was great, i ran mine on a grind and they were good despite me having it set up gay. Stuck them on boumsongs bike and they were fantastic, nice noise, great bite and hold. Fantastic pads.
  13. Tis the way i do it too once i've gotten annoyed by them.
  14. Its because conners ginger too. It was alright actually, one of the only road side rails video i've ever been able to watch. But ben, get the right video format He looks like he's about 7 foot tall.
  15. Generally yes, depending on pads, and how you grind it.
  16. The only way to really improve is to push yourself. When you first started you saw all these riders doing big gaps and decided you wanted to do that, and you did, you kept pushing yourself till you could do it. Then you don't seem to continue with pushing yourself. You get into a mentality that the level your at is good and that carrying on trying to get smoother will help you get further.... it doesn't. Continuing to go further gets you smoother. Make a gap out of pallets or rocks, just something thats generally moveable, and keep at it moving it a little bit each time till you can't make it. Move it just an inch or two further than that and keep trying it. You won't get it within a ride or two, because remember how long it took you to gradually get better at gapping in the first place? You couldn't get like 3-4 inches further every ride, it took weeks. Its the same despite you being a better rider. Gradually you'll get there and you'll see yourself improving, and when you come back to doing all the stuff before, it'll be easier, smoother and generally less difficult.
  17. Tiscali's f**ked msn, i can only go on for like 2-3 minutes at a time, so its pretty pointless.... i'll try now for you though.
  18. Fancy giving me a kmc chain so i can ride?
  19. Ha ha, i can't tell if its really dark ink or super bright red. Either way, looks fun. No more rimjams either? I'll be having the backings back next ride too. Get rid of the forks though... their snapped!!! I expect to see some nice carbon prototypes on there next time i come out riding.
  20. Ah right, i didn't know about the lesser or equal to weapon rule. You could say the chavs started running at the car so you ran them over while reversing out the car park space ? Ha ha, nice self contradiction there
  21. Have you got a graphics card good enough to be playing games at that kind of resolution? If you have, i'd assume its got a DVI output on it, which is something this screen doesn't have the capacity for... it can only do VGA by the looks of it. VGA is converted from the digital to analogue format by the graphics card and during the conversion process theres a loss in quality. Also VGA connections can sometimes be affected by the same distortions as CRT monitors (needing a de-gauss function) which again reduces the quality. VGA is generally fuzzier and far less defined than DVI, with DVI offering much sharper edges and bolder colours. If your going to be getting a screen of that size you don't want to be having fuzzy edges I'd save an extra £37-39 and get this version of the same screen. EDIT: Found a good description of what i mean here:
  22. Last i read it was between 80-90% of people who are stabbed are stabbed with their own knives. Your jus giving them an opportunity to take it off you and stab you with it when they might not have had one themselves before. You could more than likely quite easily get away with killing one of them. They randomly attacked you with no intention other than to physically harm you and had already seriously assualted your friend. I don't think there would be anyone who'd doubt that you were genuinely fearfull for your lives and felt you had to defend yourselves. As far as i'm aware your allowed to defend yourself "within reason", so if they'd stabbed one of your friends in the head, getting in the car and running a couple over would be fine.
  23. Echo control 4 bolts are beasty stiff. Got one for sale too in great condition (i know, its a booster, how can it not be ). £15
