  1. I like the idea behind this and it has worked out alright. It sets a mood and shows the different abilities all in one picture, something that is often hard to put accross. I think there is still room for improvement though, and i'm not meaning this to sound harsh... its just if no-one points it out you might not notice it yourself and won't be able to learn from it. I would probably adjust the brightness of the left hand sky so that it matched the right hand side better, something that can be done either using a colour replace or sticking the sky in as a new layer and playing with the hue/saturation settings. maybe adjust the middle patts t-shirt colour too so that it matches the other two a bit better. You might want to have a look at how to use scales as well. This way you can take the background of the right hand side, stick it on a new layer and reduce it so the trees are in the correct proportion to the left. Then make up the difference at the top and bottom sections of your newly reduced layer by using the clone tool to make the sand carry on to the bottom of the rocks and the sky to the top of the picture. And the last thing, not a major issue in the slightest, but you might want to improve on the eraser tool marks on he grass under patts bike on the right hand side. You've used a relatively large brush size and as a result the grass fades away rather than having crisp sharp edges like grass normally would. To improve this you could either use a smaller eraser tool on the grass and make the edge of the grass look a bit uneven or use the clone tool and clone the grass from near patts crank arm. Hope it helps you out a bit. Now you have to rinse out some more pics with your new found knowledge good work though.
  2. At first i didn't believe you again, i thought you'd probably found someone with the same last name as you and decided to go with the "exageration of the truth" again. But i doubt that even you would do that so i'm just going to say i'm sorry, i can't imagine how hard it must be to lose someone as close to you as a brother, especially like that. I hope you find out exactly what happened.

  5. Nuclear stations shouldn't be used, even with all the security measures in place there are ways it could all go wrong, take chernobyl for example. They thought it was safe and it clearly wasn't, besides the waste from it is not somethign we should be putting into the planet. Wind turbines in the sea and water turbines on rivers and ocean slipways would be much cleaner, safer and generally better for the environment. Geothermal energy, again, something that can be used almost anywhere should you dig deep enough and yet nobody does... pity that. Its not just the oil companies though, its the people that let them sell it to us in the first place because they make so much on the sales via taxes.

I think the principles that your trying to get across are good, but it's never going to work, the majority of people aren't bothered, and if they were i'd imagine the inconvenience of not using a car to get to a competition... usually in the middle of nowhere, is enough to keep them driving there. If i want to go riding somewhere, i get the train or ride there. My bike has all of one anodised component on it. And we have a garden, paper/cans, glass and normal black dustbin. I don't care about all this healthy living stuff the government try and push on us, and seemingly you as well with the "agree with me or burn in hell forever" mentality thats coming across in your posts. I think that theres so much more that can be done on a large scale it makes the small scale stuff like catching a bus seem irrelevant. If the government was that bothered we wouldn't be opening up new nuclear power plants and we'd stop supplying fossil fuels... fact is they make too much money from it for it to be something they would consider doing and when i see the giant plumes of smoke coming out of refinaries and filling the sky with a dark hazy cloud it makes any attempts i think of seem futile. I can't imagine travelling by car to a competition would pollute the atmosphere as much in a whole year as one of these single refinaries can manage in hours/days. That said i'll continue to try not to be such a large waster of enery/fuel but until something is done about the large scale industrial uses my input is still going to be less than helpful in any way shape or form.

    With a budget of £60 i reckon you could look at getting a set of wireless headphones, as being tied to the computer really does suck. Maybe something like These Or I've heard good things about the sound and build quality of these not to mention the easy charging dock for them. A friend of mine had these and they sounded alright, but he was an idiot and wore them out and about in town so looked like a tit, butgreat for home use.

    I take it when you said its been tried it was doen a while ago? Its 2 in the morning and theres 40 members active so i'm guessing there would be enough people use it and if you had the single box thats displayed at say either the top or bottom of every page people could read a thread and have a look at what was going on in the shoutbox at the same time. If its displayed the same for each page then people could jump through threads and not miss what was being said. However, i could see with a lot of users logged in it would get chaotic and messy and besides, we have a fairly quick post response time and theres always msn for general chat, this forums users talk frequently to each other over msn so it probably isnt something we need.

I think the problem is your saying if its not old its shit, and thats a personal opinion so can't really be given out as an "either your cool or not" approach as people like different things. Something like this will let everyone feel like their prized possession isn't an uncharacteristic lump of crap. When you climb on the bike and prepare to do something does your bike? A. Obediantly allow you to do what you want. B. Creak and groan. C. Break just before you go to do something. When you fall off and get hurt in some way and look back on the event do you conclude? A. You messed up and as a result got injured. B. There is no possible way the move couldn't have worked. C. Your bike broke and as a result your were injured. Generaly speaking, when your trying to do things does it? A. Come naturally without really thinking about it. B. You can manage it but it was tricky and your sure it wasn't done especially well. C. You weren't able to do it till you tried it about 50 times and even still you need to improve on how it should be done. When people see your bike do they? A. Tell you its a nice bike and that they wished theirs was more like it. B. Say they like it but then go on to give you a load of improvements they would make if "it was theirs". C. Get off quickly and say they can't ride it and wonder how you can ride it either. When people see you riding your bike and pulling off something trialsy do they? A. Say thats fantastic/generally congratulate you and say you make it look easy. B. Ask how long you've been doing it and give you advice on how to improve. C. Laugh and say "better luck next time". Usually when you want to learn something thats within your riding ability how many attempts does it take before you manage it? A. 1-5 B. 20+ C. The amount of times seems to have been forgotten in the days/weeks you've been trying. When people ask where you got diffferent components from can you? A. Name the shop and how much. B. Can't really remember but it was from somewhere. C. Give a short and random story about where its been and how much of a bargain you got it for. Right then, the fun bit... add em all up (3 points for A's, 2 for B's and 1 for c's). Then read the description based on what total you have. 7-10 Points: Your bike is old and battered, has a complete mind of its own and if it doesn't want you to do something, you won't do it. This bike is one of the more eccentric ones out there but you obviously love it or else you would have changed it or given it away. This bike is a right old beast to ride and takes the utmost control and manlyness to use but you'll get a lot of satisfaction when you do eventually manage things. The mardy old sod of bikes. 10-15 Points: Your bike has eccentricistic tendancies and verges on being an mardy old git but does try and have fun once in a while and some people actually don't think it's all that bad to play on. Its not the best bike in the world by far but with some tender loving care and a couple of improvements it'll be fine. The Mid life kind of bike, might be slow but gets things done. 15-20 Points: This bike is fun and usually easy to ride, your well suited to it and wouldn't really change it much at all despite what others might say. It might creak now and then but it'll usually hold together and let you show off on how your "becoming a smoother rider". Its a bit of a hottie but with some refining could be a supermodel. 21 Points: You could say this is an almost infantile machine, its solid, is specially evolved and generally makes life easy. Everyone thinks it looks nice but some might say its slightly boring and fits with all the other bikes that are in this style, its yet to acquire its eccentricity. Be careful of scallies, this shiny piece of kit is likely to attract unwanted attention. Obviously this isn't a true guide, but a bit of a mess around, don't take it seriously and if you want to add more Q's/A's then feel free, just remember to try and keep it to the character of the bike not about you as a person.
  11. Ha ha, nicely put. I'd rather have gloves too. If your so concerned about your finger tip getting cold you'll be needing gloves anyway because you obviously can't deal with the cold... something the rest of your hands are definately going to be.

    Have you looked at your profile recently This feature has been added within the last few days, just need more people to realise and change it in their "my controls" bit. And you don't even have to search, you can just click the county displayed in a members details under their avatar. Tom already explained that the searching areas/regions will coem soon once everyones sorted themselves out.
  13. On a 1040 wheelbase with a long and low stem you have to use the slow sweeping method, but you have to get the front up higher than you would with a shorter higher stem. To bunnyhop high its all in the arc shape you make with the bars, you need to sweep them forwards and up, like you were pulling into a manual. Then you need to pull your self towards them and suck up the back wheel with your legs... at this point your almost making a conscious effort to physically jump up your obstacle. As the back wheel comes up your front end will naturally want to drop, which is i think at this point where you are getting stuck. You need to push the bars up in front of youand end up with your arms straight and elbows at about eye level. Its this motion that ensures the front end stays up, all you have to do afterwards is push your legs forwards slightly and soak up the impact with your knees. Check my thatshed video's for clips on bunnyhopping. Also stairs are good fro practising too, you'll want to keep the front end up to avoid rimming out on the front wheel and getting a flat and if you find a good 10 set you can keep pushing your height. Being able to cleanly make about 5 steps will equate roughly to being able to bunnyhop about bar height.

    Ha ha, most users online was 6. Danny, could you give us a bit more information on the sort of things your willing/able to do? One single layout or a coupleof different coloured ones? A complete redesign in the layout of the forum or just a change in the layout of the pages? Are you able to add new features or take away unused ones? Is there anything YOU would like to see design wise on the forum?

  20. Dude, what was your initial reaction to having a go on mine and boumsongs bikes the first time you met us, thats right.... you knew stocks were better within a few minutes of being on one. What did you say? Easier to keep on the back wheel, more controllable? Going 26" is also a good excuse to buy a new toy

Obviously the writing won't glow like that in style 4, just couldn't be arsed the remove all the text before i added the filter. And yes, number 9 is I quite like 10-14 though, despite them being very similar to windows media player 11 and slightly vista'esque. For me its either number 1, 3, or 12.
