  1. No, Water + air = corrosion. If its bled well there'll be no air, hence no corrosion. As dan said it does stop the pistons being lubed up like mineral oil would but thats nothing a quick drop of 3 in one around the piston seals won't wort out. I personally reckon you just can't grind your rim properly. Its weird how all these different pads that work fine for everyone else dont work for you. I ground my rim with the angle grinder the wrong way round and ground it going counter clockwise across my rim the other day and the brake didn't honk or hold my weight at all, it had a great backwards hold, wouldn't slip at all.... but it kep looping out just on standard sized gaps. Grind your rim with the grinder tilted to the right so the grinder is at this angle: ____/./___ and run round the rim in a clockwise direction, for best performance with koxx yellows sharpen the disk up before use by holding it at a very shallow angle on an old rim.... then repeat with other side of disc blade, effectively sharpening the edge of the disk into a point. Then proceed to hold the grinder at 90 degrees, press down hard and run it clockwise around the rim... for best results re-sharpen disc after grinding half way round the rim then repeat for the other side of the rim. You won't have a shit brake anymore.
  2. Your really going to wish you hadn't asked what to change. Take the songs off the pages, its horrible especially seeing as a lot of people browse the internet with music already going so yours would be an unwelcome intrusion on their ears. 3. I think what dan means is your wheels aren't supposed to flex when pedalling like that, and that hardly anyones does... if they do, they get it fixed. And surely you are aware that your advice of "move your brake pads away from the wheel and put some tpa on" is completely contradictory in the fact that the TPA moves the pads closer to the rim, effectively making the need to move them away in the first place completely uneccessary. Pads should be 1-3mm away from the rim depending on how you like them set up, magura advise 2mm but personally i like 3. THEN you use the TPA to adjust the feel of your lever and for taking pad wear into consideration.
  4. Even the hot ones are a bit psycho Weathers better, full body shots
  5. Ha ha, so many different replies. Right, he said he's checked the spokes and their all tight and the wheel is trued... so no more posts saying tighten your spokes. Have you checked the rear axle, it may be partially snapped. With a skewer in it would hold but it might move when force is exerted on it. Take the wheel out and get that axle out to have a look at it. While the axle is out have a look at the bearings, as people have said it could be them that have died. Check the frame thoroughly for cracks, mainly around the bottom bracket and chainstay/seatstay joins.
  6. 303 first go, will try again now... mine keeps lagging and freezing though. Yep, keeps lagging and shit. J-Kay, i want a screenshot of that, no screenshot, no belief of your score.
  7. Nice. A fun relaxed streety video with certain unexpected moves to keep me on my toes (like the gap between crates via a front wheel on the crate stack). Good one.

    Tf Makeover

It is indeed mines set to the maximum i can have, seems weird when people say its on the second/ third page of a topic though and i can only see one. I think keep the layout essentially the same, maybe move the login section to being more centralised on the page in the same section as the [forum, gallery, calender, search... etc] bit. Definately more contrast between the shades of colour, these slightly different colours all over the place do my head in, not figuratively speaking... if i look at the edges of the boxes or the edge of the pages it actually gives me a bit of a headache. Might as well have all the clickable smilies in the little box, theres only a few more so it'd mean an extra column and maybe 2-3 rows more, saves opening up that little window when you want them. Bring back mulitple quotes? might not be the layout but i preferred not having to reply to one post, copy the text, go back a page, and reply to the other then paste the text and move the /quote bit. Can we have slightly larger avatars maybe? Not a lot but some of them are a bit hard to make out, maybe instead of 90x90 have say 120x120 or 130x130. Not a big increase but enough to be pleasurably noticable. With the actual member details, maybe bold text to define the details for example: group: members as opposed to.... group: members And maybe a subtle line to divide up the space between the member details and the actual text of the post, just to neaten it up a bit. Thats about it i reckon. Are you thinking of just one skin for the forum or a couple of slightly different ones so people can choose, as not everyone likes the same thing which is obvious by all the mixed opinions people are having with these ideas. EDIT: Just realised most of the suggestions i made are present in the current "alternative" forum skin. Still not got larger avatars though
  9. Woo, leicesters getting a right group of riders now
  10. Never had a problem with them so long as i'm not bombing down the hills as fast as i can they are alright about it. One of them said if little kids can run and climb over them i dont see why you can't ride your bikes over the rocks. Some of them get arsy but even then the most they do is politely ask us to not do it or go to swithland woods... the place up the road.
  11. Theres loads of us riders in leicester and the surrounding villages/towns. We had a ride in leicester on saturday with over 20 locals Add me to msn and i'll send you the addresses of all the local riders so you get to know them and come out riding with us sometime. As to actual clubs theres a comp thing thats held some weekends nearby but having never been to it i don't know much about it. Places of local interest are leicester city: street riding, bradgate park: natural, loughborough: street riding, shepshed: natural, bracken rocks (derby): natural, coventry: street, and other places like notts and peterborough.
  12. 40 - 60 My rear one was at 15 until i found a pump with a pressure guage and realised it was a bit silly, it then got moved up to 25. my front one was at 8 psi But then i do ride a big bike not one of these kiddie things with huge tyres.
  13. I think the idea behind them is that the smaller ones have a smaller surface area and "supposedly" have a greater pressure exerted on them than the larger pads. And for the larger pads the idea is that a larger surface area has more friction so grips more. As to them being louder, well you can't say that as the noise depends on pad compund, the grind/tar on the rim and the way the brake is set up. So don't get them based on noise, thats bullshit i'm afraid.
  14. They were given 3 by aston martin and destroyed 2... wonder where the third went
  15. I thought dvd shrink was a favourite, you just click open dvd> copy, and then if you want the files on your hard disk just dont put a DVD disc in.
  16. Heres mine at the minute [attachmentid=8245]
  17. Yeah but its not a stock so he'll be fine keeping it as one piece. Don't seperate it into seperate parcels, it improves the chances of parts getting lost or you havnig to pay for each individual item, rather than just a little bit extra for the whole lot.
  18. I sent my bmx to pauloliver through royal mail as a complete bike. All i did was twist the stem 90 degrees to how it should be and fold the bars down. I took the peddles off too. then just stuck it in a big box stuck loads of screwed up newspaper pages/magazine sheets in there for padding and taped it shut. Carried it off to the post office and £13 was all it took to send it off and have it insured.
  19. I guess there'd be some things that they still wouldn't be able to imagine though. Using the horse again as an example, how could they feel how it runs... they would have no way of imagining how a horse runs or how it looks as it jumps. I guess they could hear how it runs though, but i don't know if thats enough for them to work it out.

    Idea

I too think it'd be a much simpler idea, group nights out sounds like a plan too
