  1. Every place I have phoned doesn't stock banjo bolts, even hydraulic pipe fitting places half the folk I talked to didn't even know what one was... FML
  2. Wicked, cheers Robin! I'll give them a ring, hopefully they can sort me out, at least I have some others to ask now Nothing exciting really but some little things have happened to my car One Dirty cold start valve: Now clean Coolant cap mid clean (was very corroded and manky) LED dash lights look pants, going to use the bodies to make my own using some wide angle LEDs And the novelty of finding out I have a under bonnet lamp has been most exciting for me... Got a heap of parts to fit this weekend as well, fun never stops...
  3. M8 x1 I think, doesn't look like 1.25
  4. Snapped a banjo bolt whilst refitting my freshly cleaned cold start valve where can I get a new one from? None of the usual places that I try (GSF and ECP) appear to stock them on their website, unless it's something they don't usually list? I need one ASAP
  5. I think it's more the 'full' that hes getting at, seeing as it's not unless M3s have suddenly got air ride and nobody told anyone EDIT: Adam beat me to it
  6. The only trouble is the ultrasonic cleaners can't totally clean an injector, but then I guess it's good preventative maintenance regardless.
  7. Yeah I got the maplins one, figured it was worth a punt at the price! It took about 15mins to get that casing as clean as it is, which I figured wasn't too bad as i could go off and do other jobs whilst it worked. You have to be careful with some coatings, it removed an anti rust coating from a cheap cassette I tried and also the anti glare coating from my really old glasses that I tried cleaning!
  8. Refurbished a spare distributer with a wire brush The bought an ultrasonic cleaner and tried it out on my WUR casing Next job is the injectors! Had my car tuned by a specialist today and it's like a completely different machine, very happy! Even better when it cost me £25. Also got a bunch of spares and a free Dansk exhaust to whack on when I'm next home. Annoyingly I need a new exhaust manifold gasket so I'm going to get plus gassing the nuts ASAP ready for when I'm back home to fix it
  9. Possibly should have strapped that engine down? Gutted dude!
  10. Shiiit George, glad you are ok fella!
  11. Nice work! I miss cruise control, used it all the time in the Saab
  12. I have a similar issue with my Commer (although its 300mm discs in 15" steels), I need to run 20mm of spacers so the caliper clears although that means it'll scrub the front step as it is such a silly design starting to think I should have stuck to drums...
  13. No you need the five grand car wash instead
  14. It seems to be cheaper (and more fun/rewarding) to build my own at a glance. I have some Golf MK4 coilovers sitting in my shed which can be stripped down, springs might be a little stiff though but I can always buy others later on
  15. Oh really? I'm totally special needs when it comes to anything to do with engines so I really don't know what's fine or not! Robin, where do you recommend getting weld on coilover sleeves and suitable springs from? I have some spare suspension legs that I want to build coilovers out of as I fancy getting the car slightly lower
  16. That looks bad ass, not sure about the bonnet raisers though! I'll get some fresh photos of mine once I have corrected a few more issues, got a club member helping me tune it soon which should make it less shit and worthy of a wash! Three of my cam tips have score marks on them (nothing on the tappets though) how concerned should I be? Presumably these are responsible for my metallic oil, not sure if it's really worth the hassle of swapping the engine now, I'd rather put money into the 20VT conversion
  17. You need to get a photo of a hazy reflection of you with your thumb up surely? My car now has one less oil leak and an electric drivers window to match the passenger one finally! The trouble is I now have a large hole in my door card where the winder went although I guess it matches the delightful cracks in the dash
  18. I did ask the other day if anybody was going!
  19. Classic car show at the NEC was good, saw some cars, bought some things, talked to some interesting people.
  20. They are literally the smallest filings ever but there was plenty on the dipstick. There's no knocking or anything yet, so I guess I have a little while yet? I'm wondering about draining, sump off, clean out, magnetic sump plug, replace filter, fresh oil and hope it lasts until I have access to my workshop... Been offered an engine cheap, so I can get that dumped at my parents on a pallet ready for a heart transplant at Christmas
  21. Found bits of metal in my oil today. f**ksake That along with the leakiest engine ever is really starting to piss me off. There's a 924 down the road from me that I have been offered for £250, it has brand new Corbeau buckets and a bunch of parts that I could do with, I think i'll have to buy it and do a weekend engine swap. Wish I was in Suffolk, I'd have a nice workshop and an engine crane, now I have a shit wonky drive and I'll have to buy a crane.
  22. Anybody on here going to the classic car show at the NEC this weekend?
  23. Eurgh, cars being shit again. Time to build a fuel pressure tester thingy and diagnose the shit out of it
