  1. It's a really nice feeling getting the bushes done, you don't really realise how crap a car feels in comparison beforehand! Borrowing a 530 GT for a month as my girlfriends mum is off to oz, this means the Porsche can have its interior looked at finally, needs a new roof lining, carpets re dyed, wiring tidied up and dash recovered. All the jobs I hate doing basically
  2. Try rclick for the remote stuff, I have had a few kits now and they have been great. The only thing to watch out for is the key blades are a touch soft, I've never had issues but others have had them break, although I'm guessing they have been pretty rough with them somehow. Installation is easy enough, just need some basic electrical knowledge and away you go
  3. Pikes and a superstar front hub for my giant, looking forward to seeing how it feels!
  4. Cant you go for a solid top mount with a pillowball bearing?
  5. Wicked, lets organise something soon!
  6. CO2 is shite against argon. so much weld spatter! The welder isn't mine, it's my schools. I have my own rather lovely welder but it's back in Suffolk For the amount of time the school one gets used per year (about 10 minutes actual welding time) it isn't worth spending any money on (nor do we have the money spare in our department), it's so cheap that it is pretty much disposable anyway.
  7. Fixed the exhaust, turns out there's supposed to be some sort of centre exhaust support but there isn't...used a jubilee clip for now to support it until I next go home and can bosh something decent together. The welder is shit, there's no question about it! I can do some neat welds with it but it is bloody difficult as it randomly changes wire feed speed.... also we only have co2 bottles, not argon which doesn't help weld quality
  8. I'm easy, happy to ride whenever really!
  9. Exhaust broke at the centre section this morning, silly thing. Luckily I have access to a welder at school, unfortunately it's shit...
  10. I ended up getting the forks but paid very little for them due to wear on the stanchions. I gave them a service and they seem fine for now, very smooth regardless of huge wear and no leaking noticeable. They will do as stand ins until I have saved for brand new ones, I'm sure they have a few more months of riding left in them with frequent cleans. Cheers for everybodies help!
  11. Sundays are when I usually ride, are you free at all this Sunday?
  12. Tom, I usually ride near where I live (Wollaton) just because it's convenient really! Pines or Cannock would be awesome, I work in Burton so i'm not far from Cannock I think? Finish school at 2:55 so can escape whenever after then. Forteh, I'm up for a ride whenever so let me know when you are free! I'm not fast still but i'm trying to build up my fitness levels, doing regular exercise now which is really helping me.
  13. Do it Tobias, I literally just sold my Bianchi hatdtail for peanuts yesterday! Got a few spares kicking about if you need anything
  14. The thing is i'm a fat b*****d and although my fitness has been getting better, i'm still not able to maintain what i'd consider a fast pace so i'm worried that if I go along to one of those things then i'll be the slowest in the group maybe i'll do a few more weeks by myself before turning up somewhere
  15. If the the new SLX brakes are anything like the ones I have now then they should be verrrrry good, far superior to the Avids you have on the on-one. Which club do you ride with Tom? I really want to get riding more but i'm worried i'll join a club full of chumps
  16. Troyston, I work for Staffordshire and I'm looking to do the same thing once I've confirmed a full time contract with my school. Quite a few teachers are using it, although they are getting fairly dull cars
  17. This thread makes me feel well shit about my appearance of my bike haha. That Trek is nice!
  18. Get the car on stands, then put a jack under the arm and lift it up a bit to see if the ball joint settles into position
  19. Unlucky dude, that really sucks Is that £650 including a brand new turbo?
  20. There is one on Gumtree for £400, slightly ambitious?
  21. Try out a Trance, they are very highly regarded. I have an older one and absolutely love it, it was perfect for Cannock too I felt (although I really need some 140mm forks!)
  22. Yeah from what I have gathered Q drive are fairly poop, Lemforder are decent for the money though! Fitted my upgraded headlight loom today, made a world of difference! Now to figure out why my rad fan won't kick in, it's been playing up for a while but I never sit in traffic so the car always stays plenty cool enough
  23. A clutch shouldn't be too hard on that I would imagine apart from some seized bolts (get some plus gas on them several days before hand to give you a fighting chance), I've done a few by myself and not struggled much apart from jiggling the gearbox back on to the splines. You just need some axle stands and a trolley jack along with the usual tools (you may find you need some specific ones for the drive shafts and to drain the gearbox oil). I wouldn't say it is the hardest part, it's just bloody awkward at times! It shouldn't take you longer than a day really as a first timer, offer a mate some food and drink in return for an extra pair of hands/moral support and you will be fine. I need to whack a new clutch in my Porsche at some point, means dropping either the gearbox (which is at the back of the car), the torque tube (propshaft essentially) and then the front bell housing or whipping out the engine instead... either way I really cannot be bothered but I guess the first way means I can drop the tank, clean it out and replace all the fuel pipes whilst i'm there
