  1. That would be rather awesome but unfortunately that may not work due to the sunroof
  2. Vinyl wrapping my roof gloss black... Chavvy or cool? I think it could look good on my car being white, just not sure if it's going to be worth the £50 to experiment!
  3. Ah cheers for that Robin! I shall get some new ceramic ones ordered and replace the lot, for the price i'd rather have the peace of mind. Have you had any experience with the cheapo fuel pumps on ebay? I'm tempted to buy one as a spare to keep in my car to go along with the spare fuel pump relay i have just bought
  4. Eurgh, wild goose chase and all that. After fannying about with my fuel pump, checking wires, sorting out hoses, refitting the bracket as it had fallen off, etc my car decided it still didn't want to keep running. I checked the pump with a multimeter, no volts. Checked the fuse and found this: So that has presumably been my issue all along... although it's great that I have found what the issue was, it does concern me that it has happened... it's the correct fuse yet the plastic has melted and not the fuse itself. Is this down to a poor quality fuse? Can't really see how there was enough heat there to melt it, yet not make the fuse go?
  5. So it turns out the reason my car broke down is my fuel pump has been hanging by its wires and hoses... Lovely! Some fresh connectors and new mounts on the bracket should hopefully fix it, might replace some of the wire that would of received stress, I'll see how it looks...
  6. Car broke down Monday, turns out my fuel pump wasn't working. I wiggled it about today and it works again... Time to go over the wiring I guess!
  7. Or these: I'm making some for mine as i'm fed up with bashing my valance
  8. Dan, at least get your tyres central on the bloody ramps! You are nearly as sketchy as Seamons
  9. I managed to get a decent finish with my polishing wheel on the Porsche, considering how horrific the paint is I'm actually amazed how well it came out
  10. Neat, well done Dan. Didn't really get much time this afternoon to do many jobs as the wind and rain started picking up, however little things have improved! Replaced the rusted up n/s headlight Replaced the floppy n/s sunvisor Replaced the ash tray to a brown one Replaced the door latch surrounds Cleaned up the o/s electric window reg and motor ready to convert my car back to full electric windows (for some reason a manual window has been fitted only on the drivers side) I need to order some thread and one of those hook needle things to refurb this brown 3 spoke wheel to replace the black 4 spoke I have. Fingers crossed it cleans up as nicely as others have!
  11. I'm too much of a pussy to break the rules, i'll just wait for some suitable seats to pop along I have just collected a boot full of 924 goodies, the chap said I could just take whatever I wanted as long as I bought the wheels he had for sale which were a bit of a bargain anyway (I needed fresh tyres out back so it worked out well). Mega happy about that as I can now fix a bunch of troublesome/niggly areas and whatever's left can be sold off or put in my ever growing spares pile :$
  12. Ha, not sure sure that would pass the MOT
  13. Collected the Impreza seats just now. Unfortunately they are 55cm wide and my current ones are 50cm. The extra 5cm would make it impossible to use the handbrake which is mounted between the seat and the door Dang.
  14. It's begging for colour coded mirrors and bump strips! I just got some Scooby seats for £25, not particularly pretty but they should fit in the narrow space that the Porsche offers and be way more supportive for my back
  15. This is similar to the look i'm going for (but with a bumper on...). I probably won't drive about with a helmet on though. Just got off the phone to a guy breaking 2 924s, turns out hes a few minutes down the road and when I asked about prices for several parts he replied with 'I just want beer money'. Fingers crossed he enjoys Tesco value beer. Hopefully I should have a working and tidy car soon.
  16. I only have an N/A and although it's kinda nippy and fairly bulletproof I would like something a bit more refined and more fun when the loud pedal is pressed. My engines also quite happy to use oil (leaks and burns the stuff) and I don't see the point in spending money on it when I could have something with boost EDIT: That's not mine Luke! I was just showing what the rear diffuser looked like :$ Mines still looking tatty and multiple shades of white. My plans for the car have altered slightly, I'm leaning towards having some actual fun with it, and that involves changing lots of things and making lots of things.
  17. Got myself a bargain 924 Turbo rear diffuser coming my way soon Slowly acquiring parts ready for a total overhaul of my car, still yet to find a 1.8T donor although i'm swaying towards the possibility of a 2.3T from a Saab and hoping I can figure out how to fit it

    Ebay lights

I've got a single Cree led one and bought a new reflector that reduces the hot spot issues. The lights great for the low price (£20 posted I think I pad a year ago) although if you need serious light I would have 2 and carry a spare battery pack. I don't really trust the chargers, I have heard of them over charging batteries if left on accidentally and the batteries exploding, although this is also down to the batteries being used are non vented and therefore when overcharged they go bang. I am using a Li ion RC car battery charger instead of the one that the light came with, along with a charging bag to be safe as I quite like having a house.
  19. There was one on Nottingham gumtree the other day along with injectors and stuff http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/garret-gt1749vb-golf-19-gttdi-150bhp-turbo/1033873831 http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/golf-19-gttdi-150bhp-pd-injectors/1033873021 Prices are high but then there's a good chance they haven't sold and you could bang him down
  20. Sounds pretty much like the porsche ones then! I really like the corbeau sport line evo seats as they would suit my car, but I don't have £600 kicking about How about these scooby seats? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Subaru-Impreza-WRX-Bucket-Seats-/281184191539?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4177e24433
  21. I guess this is aimed at tarty and robin, Mx5 mk1 seats-are they comfy? These seem cheap, plentiful and the right size for the Porsche. Alternatively the mr2 roadster seats looks quite tempting but having never sat in them I'm not sure if I'd like them
  22. 924 n/a, going to check the clutch tomorrow, there's a chance the springs have gone and that's why I'm getting that lumping. If that's the case then I have a massive whore of a job coming up... Eurgh
  23. My Porsche is massively pissing me off. Just had the engine mounts off...not broken. Now Im even more stuck as to what's up with it. I'm at the point now where I might just break it for parts and be done with it. Porsche forum I'm on is useless and they never reply, total waste of money joining it! Anybody want a broken porsche?
  24. Be careful with the ones which don't need the front wheel removing, some don't reach the downtube of full sussers. I had to modify mine to make it fork mount in the end
  25. Weird, I wrote a reply about seats but it isn't there? Found a place who makes replacement covers for £200 so I'll probably go with those unless I find some seats I like! Noticed my gearbox moves rather a lot. This is in part down to a broken engine mount (torque tube transfers the wobble) and also I think the gearbox rubber is probably a little tired out too, especially after the amount of stress it must be under now. My current engine mount has a spring in it that breaks, and it is no longer available from porsche. There are aftermarket ones but they are expensive and not many people seem happy with them. I was wondering about removing the spring from mine, weld it back up (it'll be needed o keep the mount in shape) then fill the cavity with polyurethane to support the spring seeing as it's properties will have changed after welding This is what they look like: Alternatively I could copy the aftermarket mounts as they aren't difficult to replicate, something like a skateboard truck bush would be as substantial as that is on those and then I can swap them to softer/harder compounds depending on vibrations EDIT: The mount in question is very close to the exhaust and therefore gets pretty hot. Wondering if the poly insert would take the heat?
