  1. I spoke to his daughter tonight, she was apologetic but didn't seem interested in paying towards all the cleaning stuff (not like I used loads but that isn't the point) or even asking her dad to. I now have good reason to 'accidentally' make a mess of his car, seems fair enough
  2. I'd happily leave them if needs be, just some paint flaked off the arch at the centre, rest is fine! Paint is satin black, was going to do it the same again. Decals can sit ready for you to apply if you like (old ones are already off). I'll service them anyway, just so i'm 100% happy they are ok (only done about 100 miles since last service so should be perfect inside still!) I work in Stapenhill, but live in Nottingham so if you aren't far then it's no worry
  3. Not in a great rush, as long as you definitely take them! They are currently having a fresh lick of paint and decals along with all fluids changed so will be looking pretty fresh Could always pop them to you if you aren't too far from Stapenhill?
  4. Very plush for air forks! They feel the same as my coil Pikes i'm running currently. No idea on how they would feel with the Intense, my issue with my Giant was my pedals catching on the floor due to a low BB. The low weight of them makes the front of your bike feel so sprightly, that's the one thing I dislike about my Pikes is that they are so heavy! Spec: 2007 (I think....) IS mount 9mm dropouts Twin air chamber Compression adjustment Rebound adjustment Weight 1730G (actual weight as they are now) Remote lockout
  5. Oh yeah Mike, have you got any use for a drivers side electric folding mirror and both rear electric window motors for your car? Thought I'd ask before I whack them on eBay!
  6. Isn't the idea of that guide that you don't need a bash? I really like my Blackspire Stinger, does a great job! I'm guessing you need a top guide as well though? Does anybody on here want some Rebas (not sure if they are Race or Team ones) U turn 80-120mm, remote lockout, motion control, blah blah. Really nice forks but a bit too short for my Giant annoyingly. £100 posted to any TF members before i whack on ebay
  7. I'm just glad it didn't go on the 5 series, that would have been REALLY bad!
  8. My neighbours dad is such a total dick. He has been slapping wood stain all over his daughters shed and most of it went onto my car. I approached him about it and got a reply of something like ' yeah i saw some had gone on, didn't think it was a problem, needs a respray anyway' Fortunately I caught it before it had gone hard enough to really set into the paintwork, I washed the car, clayed a small bit but found it useless and went for the sod it approach and got the cutting compound out for a heavy duty shit removal. Fortunately I have recovered it and I can't see any staining set into the paint. I know my cars not perfect but that attitude is piss poor, i'm gonna go over with a bill for the consumables and time. If that's not paid for then i'll do some spray painting near his car when he is next over and get some lovely white overspray on his new black Mondeo
  9. Those decathlon bikes really are great for the money! Does your girlfriend actually ride it? I specced up my girlfriends Specialized and she has barely used it since
  10. Mike have you managed to sort out some of the scratches on your car yet through polishing? How much are Leon Cupra R splitters from the dealers these days? Ebay inflated price ones are £50 so I'm guessing they are about £35-40 now? I have one spare and I may as well sell it, doesn't relay suit the Porsche
  11. All that effort and you haven't replaced the lower door trim, tut tut! Looks cool, not quite as cool as the bbs reps but some colour added to the wheels should make them look cooler?
  12. It's a horrible feeling but eventually you will filter through the issues. Just make sure you do preventative maintenance, go through common issues before they happen and you should be fine
  13. Looks great, might look better with the images rotated though! Surprised you didn't go for a dropper post on it?
  14. Don't see how the tooth count makes a difference? The chain links will always alternate the same regardless
  15. I used to and preferred 24 over 26. I also preferred 20 over 24....
  16. Nice Dan! Whats the ride like?
  17. I have been driving my girlfriends mums BMW 530D Gran Turismo (got it for a month whilst shes away) and although in so many ways it is a great car with all its little cool gadgets and super comfy ride, it just doesn't have that thing about it that my 924 does. I love how my old car is totally not perfect and how you have to really work it to make the most of it, there is very little enjoyment for me in a car like the BMW with 250BHP and loads of torque as you just can't make utlise it unless you drive like a total wanker and even then you catch up somebody doing a snails pace on the fun bits.
  18. Car came out for a quick play today, it's only been a week and I've really missed driving it!
  19. Go through all the water drains and make sure they are clear and not full of muck to avoid getting condensation issues/water getting in the electrics. Clean all earthing points with emery cloth and apply copper grease. Clean all fuse contacts and replace any corroded fuses. Get the battery load tested and check the alternator output to ensure they are both in tip top order. Fill the fuel filter with Forte before you fit it, this will burn some poop out of the engine without dragging crap from the tank through the lines. Replace the brake oil, coolant and transmission oil so that all the fluids are nice and fresh. Sounds like lots of extra effort but it's better to do those things now than find out later on your way home in the dark in the pouring rain :$ I wish I had gotten all those jobs over and done with on all my cars, even the newer ones.
  20. It won't be so cute when it tells you there is a bulb out and there actually isn't...that gets annoying!
  21. I'm half messing, you kind of expect the odd splash of oil to make it into the exhaust on a leaky old engine, that's enough to cause a smell for a few journeys. My car was particularly bad until recently due to multiple engine leaks, exhaust leaks, rich mixture, rotten body seals and general hatred for me. Mines better now since fixing half my leaks and also putting new body seals everywhere to prevent the smells getting in the cabin when they do occur.
  22. Dodgy burning smells from old cars are normal surely? My porsche has a different aroma every time I drive it. Can't remember if I mentioned this the other day but I have a 530GT for a month, this means the Porsche can have some TLC for the interior. Where's a good place to source vinyl? I need a new head lining and genuine is NLA
  23. My Giant climbs poorly, but that's due to my weird setup (super short stem and the longest forks that the frame was designed for on a bike that's technically too small for me). Went for a ride today, got muddy and enjoyed using my new front end
  24. That looks like a fun build, I like it. If only the rims and fork crown were all black, then it would look reallllly nice!
  25. If you do that then run some sort of cut off switch so that hot wiring at the ignition won't work.
