  1. Sigur Ros, the album 'Takk' is a good start not really meditating music, just chilled and uplifting
  2. what colour and model? prices on front wings+headlights, and bumpers pleasssse:)
  3. Busted McFly Son of dork Those are some tasty numbers...
  4. Sigur Ros-Samskeyti, a pleasant instrumental track
  5. Ha ha, Ben that bike is going to be mega when its done
  6. Nice one Ryan, catch you on a ride soon!
  7. and akrigg...this guys catching up!
  8. Thats rather alot of material to be removing, i dont know how thick the headtubes are on those frames though Have you tried a deep cup headset yet? Try that before thinking of any other bodges
  9. Spec wise, any decent rigid trials fork, i'm fond of Pashleys myself 90x15 stem, anything longer felt gash on my 3 Bases! Some 2 inch rise bars, azonic dw are nice feeling, but i have recently taken a liking to kore freerides, mega nice shape and seemingly strong I ran 3 pieces and middleburns on mine, prefered 3 pieces cos they are stiffer Hope hubs on reasonably slim rims, ideally 32mm and below due to brake clearance V brake out back for sure, and v/disc up front. Maguras are a shit to set up on evo adaptors, and vs are just better
  10. Thanks ever so much to you both Some really interesting systems there! There is a pneumatic drive system that somebody made locally to me that i want to see, its chainless and sounds very cool!
  11. Right, I'm not lazy and have found several things already but I'm guessing there will be some concept bikes/components that i will have missed that could be of interest. Basically looking at designing a 'bike for the future' for my college project, i can get by on what stuff i have already but anything extra would be a bonus I have done the typical google searches and found several interesting things. I'm really interested in alternative drive systems to the chain, and also different gear systems (hydraulic, air, and any internals other than rolhoff and shimano). So any links to interesting ideas would be much appreciated, thanks!
  12. On a second look...wheres the carbon bit? Or is it just the post? The actual seat itself looks to be a translucent plastic...
  13. Because it looks terrible, although so does this seat... I think removing components means a bike starts to lose its identity, bmx has a 'look' about it, and losing things like a seat means its not really a bmx as most people know it anymore. I know the same can be applied to trials, but bmxers have a different attitude towards thier bikes it seems.
  14. Funnily enough i currently have a pashley ghz...and i think its here to stay. Not once have i felt that i want to change frame, its actual perfection cant say the same for my mhz though
  15. ok, just to add a twist, lets think up a bike built out of these long lasting parts? Obviosuly including recent parts dont count yet as they havent had 10 odd years to prove thier worth! In my experience these lastest the longest: Cranks: middleburns Hubs: hope xc Bb: un52 Forks: fattys Headset: fsa pig Brakes: between magura, sd7 and hope mini Levers: xtr (if cable) Rims: D521 Pedals: V8s Chain: Kool Stem: Prodigy Bars: Never actually snapped any of my double walls...but i will go with kore freerides to be safe Tyres: cant actually think of any that lasted me a decent time for the back, panaracer fire xc for the front Frame: Never had one long enough to know! cant be bothered to think of any more, but you, for me those have all been long lasting components and keeping on topic: oldest part on my bike is my brake booster from the mid 90s woop!
  16. if you need some jon, i have over 20 brand new boxed ones spare if you are interested
  17. or winter time in general, tends to be mud around!
  18. i just ended up crying alot
  19. apparently after you hvae one, you are supposed to be good at them...i am proof that it isnt the case
  20. yup that works or a 180 front adaptor=same as 160 back
  21. from what i read the xr is just 60bhp? mines a single carb wheras the xs is twin carb? theres a noticeable difference thats for sure!
  22. Whats the difference between a 1.4 xr and a 1.4 xs engine apart from the carbs? After having a wee play in my roland garros (xs engine) im tempted to build all the decent parts onto my xr (gti bumpers, wheels, etc). What sort of power can i expect from it? The xs is 85bhp standard-is it an easy engine to get much more out of? Just want a car for cheap thrills if i ever take my audi off the road for any reason.
  23. i dont know how harsh you are but in that case cant you fiddle the internals? getting them down to 50/60mm would be ace!
