a nvidia quadro4 900xgl (this was about 3 years ago) - its equivalent to the top o the range quadro you can get now only older and therefore not as good.
-
wah - i stand corrected on the benchmark softclock thingy - the memory is still only ddr1 as opposed to ddr3 and its still only got half the pixel pipelines. But yeah - much more of an improvement than i was expecting Thats reassuring cos I'll be sending my fried one back this week (yours an Athlon64 was it ? i'm never buying AMD again ) I like scan too - i saved £1400 (yes, fourteen hundred pounds) on my fancy graphics card on their today only page. For that they will forever have my gratitude and love.

anything p2p is evil shite that knackers all your security and installs nasty stinking adware all over your machine. bittorrent isn't p2p and therefore isnt evil shite. basically what you do is.... package your file up using one of the various free torrent proggies, make a tracker and put a link to it somewhere you're mates can get to. I only did it once and that was bloody ages ago so i cant remember any details at all but if you google about you should be able to find everything you need

nah - its missing actual hardware on the chip so while you could get it to go faster you wouldn't end up with a real 6800GT. It's like the old geforce2 to quadro2 hack (u needed a very small soldering iron for that one) - you could get a better clock speed and unlock a couple of features but you were still stuck with the same memory bus and the shite memory. the 6600GT can be got for AGP - dunno about the 6800LE

for that money you're probably best off with a t-bird. you get maggies and a proper back wheel on that way -rather than dodgy vees and a 20" like on a t-vee (which makes the t-bird upgradeable) seriously though - if you can stretch to it get a t-pro, it's the cheapest proper mod you can buy (they're about 420) and contrary to what everyone else seems to be saying, they don't snap very easily at all and even if they do you get a half price replacement. but yeah - like everyone says , a 2nd hand python or echo team would be a good bet, they're supposed to be pretty much indestructible (as opposed to an XTP which isn't)

it depends what they cost but from my (considerable - im an enthusiast ) experience anything with LE on the end is crappy.you'll probably find you're better off with a 6600GT (the GT part is important) Without getting into too much technical detail the LE versions are missing some pipes to shove information down compared to the proper versions which makes things much much slower. In this case it's missing 8 of the 16 pipes, runs at about half the speed and has shit memory. a 6600gt (while being cack compared to a 6800 ultra) runs a lot faster, has much faster memory, has extra little chips on it that do shiny things and can run in SLI if your motherboard can do it. I reckon the 6800LE is a false economy. If I could get a 6800LE for 50quid cheaper than the 6600GT and they both had 256mb I'd go for the 6800LE but only if it wasn't my main machine or I was feeling really poor.. that's academic though cos on scan.co.uk you can get a 256mb 6600GT for 115quids http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo...roductID=299638 and the only 6800LE on there is 135quids If you havent got that much cash then go for a high end older card rather than a low end new one - the FX5950 is still pretty damn good, as is the radeon9800 pro (but only the pro). wah, that was bigger than i intended... :EDIT: but yeah -tomm has a point - its the Windows end of it thats buggered if all you're doing is playing through a TV card. Get yourself some new drivers for everything before you go out buying new stuff -itll probably sort itself out.
-
isnt that what they reckon einstein had ? you're in good company if it is .. i get paid a fortune to make pretty pictures so no money troubles here. the only thing that stops me buying extra parts is the missus
-
I had the same thing the exact opposite way round. My main reason for starting to go to the left side was that i kept mashing my front pedal and chainring into walls when going right went wrong. Going left you can angle yourself toward the wall a bit more and get a little closer cos theres no pedal in the way (i need all the help i can get ). It could be a lot to with your natural spinning direction as well - i go from right to left if i have a choice so it makes sense that i sidehop that way. anyway - might as well learn both, thats what they're there for

monty's are teeny tiny little bikes - even compared to a t-pro. I reckon go for a echo team long - its only a tiny bit bigger than a t-pro & has high bb so it ought to feel pretty similar with the same bars n stem.(this is all conjecture though )
-
definitely check that nothing is bent maybe you could shorten the chain if its rubbing on the back end - the dropouts look quite long on a zip.
-
they do an internal one now too - apparently can be fitted to standard frames if you drill a couple of holes http://www.f-set.com/index2.htm
-
only if you try to ride trials or jumps on it..
-
www.adobe.com itll cost you 600quid though try avid, they have a free editing package. http://www.avid.com/freedv/index.asp a firewire cable cost me about £4 from scan.co.uk or aria or something like that. get it when you order the firewire card (which you'll probably need because your machine sounds old)
-
there u go jake.. get yourself a mail order business going on they never check the post.
-
yeah - just remember to take your gloves off before you go for a piss. Would it get the green shite off my t-poo as well?
-
I manage ok with just a mod - it depends how far you have to go really. Where I work is about 2 miles away and my little t-poo gets me there fine - unless the weather's proper nasty or ive got an evil hangover, then i just walk. If it were much farther than that I'd get me one of those 70quid mountainbikes from the cheapy cycle shops and use that for travelling. (i really must finish off those driving lessons)
-
yeah - easy, ive nearly got em down on the ground. ive ridden out of a few now - sure it isnt good for my hoses though. - on a related note.... the f-set people have figured out gyros for hydraulic brakes now
-
you'd better be bloody good at it
-
i was about to jump in and bitch about all the spoilt kids but then i sat back and thought about what i got... missus got me a gshock so ill love her til next christmas mum got me a fancy mouse so i can play counterstrike properly again dad gave me money so i can buy some drugs and hookers sister gave me pig shaped walkman speakers everyone gave me a lovely bottle of single malt - ooh. and me&missus got some serious cooking equipment too. and greek satellite tv (dont ask) i call that a pretty good haul so not really in a position to get all moral.

basically it's a lot easier to keep balanced if the tyre's nearly flat, you get more grip as well but it does slow you down and dramatically increases the likelyhood of getting pinch-flats and dents in your rim. mod tyres especially have massively thick sidewalls which makes up for a lot of the missing air so running 7 or 8 psi in the back doesn't necessarily mean you're grinding along on your rim all the time. dunno about stock cos ive never asked anyone. if you want silly pressures look at bmxers - i used to run about 80psi but i think i saw tyres that'll take up to 120 fairly recently. they must roll proper fast..
-
Ive never been on waynes bike so i cant be sure what it feels like but I seriously suggest your girlfriend goes and gets herself checked out.
-
go for a hydro - unless you like pissing about with your brakes instead of riding. Louise FR is lovely and i'm sure most of the others recommended here are great.
-
i dont think you should spunk on any part of your bike. its just not natural
-
that sounds about right - if you've got decent tyres. i figure theres enough in there if you cant rim out by riding straight into a kerb without lifting
-
he said fixed ... not free its the freehubs that have gone back cos they were crap.
