The second one is really overexposed?

I haven't seen him post for a bit, it was just a guess!

Finally getting rid of the ABS? But yes, it's the only way to slow down quickly without ABS... Some good info here: http://www.drivingfast.net/car-control/braking.htm
-
I think there's one in the original thread...
-
Yeah exactly that, one of the advantages of vertical dropouts and sprung tensioners
-
Added to the ToDo list...

Nope, he just gave us free reign to build the bike as we would do it ourselves. Personally wouldn't add an extra link into my chain for no reason, so I did it like that to get the tensioner out of the way and make it look pro as f**k m8888.

Buy two next time, you'll need to fit them both given how short you are I'm kind of kidding... I needed a massive one on mine for it to actually do anything. Must have come down nearly half way!

Doesn't look too bad... I think piston rings would usually go duff one at a time, leaving one plug worse than others, so maybe stem seals. Need to get someone to follow you, you'd get a puff of blue smoke on gear change under hard acceleration, or on lift off at high revs. Could maybe be over fuelling? To check that drive the car as normal then dump the clutch and shut it off mid acceleration. That will leave the plugs in their 'as used' state, any sort of idling will affect their appearance.
-
It does seem to sit 'up' a bit, not really sure why. The seal is down and it's watertight so doesn't bother me... In fact I'll probably bin the hardtop off, being able to drop the roof whenever you like is the best thing about a car like this!

Yeah. Bloody weird. Need more photos at some point.

I feel like I should have said 'new ride', or 'new whip' or something equally gay now...
-
I think it's more a weird camera on my phone... it's bog standard metallic grey!

Shifter mod looks perfect Dan, good work, so much better in that position! Think mine ended up in a similar place. New wheels...

You need a taller crown race, eg. the Try-All one. Edit: Sorry for the short replies before, it's a pain typing on my phone... But basically the Echo crown race isn't very tall, the angle is fine but it won't work with the Try-All headset when the fork has a big fat crown.
-
Yes, your problem is a headset one, not a fork one.

I'd go with a few more psi and a set of balls They're Federal SS595s, £100 for 4 and completely shit, but keep the rims off the floor and lots of water clearance.

Mike - sounds like air lock, drain it off, fill slowly, squeeze lower hose from rad to block a few times while doing it with rad cap off. Should gurgle a bit. Then run car with heater on full beans with rad cap off for a bit, then fit rad cap once it's warm, run until radiator gets hot (thermostat open). Allow to cool, remove rad cap, top up, then should be good to go. At the moment the temp sender will be reading the temp of the housing (which is heated by the engine rather than the coolant) hence it reading high. Fan switch is in a different place (top of thermostat housing) so that will still work fairly normally. Sam - Chuck your stat in a cup of boiling water to see how it works?

Finally sorted wheel photos @dann2707 and @SamKidney - sorry it's taken so long. Both are 4x100 and big enough centre bore to fit a Clio as far as I know (MX-5 is 54.1 and both sets needed spigot rings on the MX5). The are both sets of 4 but couldn't be arsed digging them all out! Black ones we discussed earlier: http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/media/car/sale/wheels2.jpg These have all road-legal T1Rs on, two about 3mm and two about 5-6mm. £120 if you want them (plus a bit of delivery if you need, about 20 a set I think) Second set I found are also unknown brand, but silver and multi fit (will do 4x108 as well - Ford, etc). Two tyres are half decent but on the wear bars, Parada or something, the other two are unknown make and different to each other, but have reasonable amount of tread (3-4mm at least I think). £100 for these? Nice one, Ads Edit: I hate this new forum, why does one photo work and the other doesn't!? I inserted them in the same way, grr!

Yeah man, all dropped back now thanks. Hoping the forecast deluge on Weds night doesn't bring a repeat of the above...! There are still some areas under water though I think, mainly the low lying flat areas between here and the coast
