  1. The standard plastic levers are a bit flexy but overall the brake is good for the money (on the front wheel). I attached mine to my old front hs33 lever and bled with thin mineral oil. This gave me a pretty decent brake with loads of hold and good feel plus I had an adjustable bite point because of the hs33s TPA.
  2. I had the same problem with my standard onza t pro rear hub after around 2 months riding. I noticed it was graudally wandering to one side and also it became less easy to spin as I rode along. After about a fortnight the hub packed up completely and wouldnt turn at all. I opened it up to find that the bearings had dug a ridge across the inside of the hub and most of the bearing surface had worn away. The hub was un usable and I reccomend a new sealed bearing hub (such as the onza t master) before it locks up mid gap or at some other dangerous time...
  3. You might be lucky enough to be able to adjust the two limit screws on the side of the mech until the jockey wheels line up with the rear cog you want to use. I found that the screws didn't quite push the mech over far enough so I - cut down a spoke (about 80mm) and placed a nipple on the end the wrong way around (you can use a short piece of gear cable instead) pushed my mech over by hand until the jockey wheels lined up with the rear cog (you may wish to add a mate at this point) placed the spoke (or short gear cable) through where a cable usually goes with the nipple resting on the plastic barrel adjuster tigthened the spoke up using the cable clamp bolt pedalled backwards to check that the chain ran in a striaght line adjusted the allignment further by using the plastic barrel adjustment If you want to stop the mech moving up and down and hitting your chainstay- remove mech/chain from bike remove the c shaped clip from the back of the mech-it may need turning a little before it will slide out (I placed a thin screwdriver in the gap between the bolt and clip to rotate it and remove it) remove the spring that will probably fly out replace c clip you may need to add a large washer over the bolt and c clip to allow the mech to be tightened properly replace mech and chain you could just cable tie your mech to the frame but I found that removing the spring produced a much more stable tension and the cable tie may break off... please tell me if i am being unclear
  4. All frames will eventually snap or fracture. I imagine that onza use thinner tubing to keep the price of their bikes down which shouldn't be a problem for most riders. I would rather see more people be able to afford a well specced bike like the onzas than have people be put off the sport because of their budget. I highly reccommend onza t pros as they are excellent value for money and pretty decent geometry. Well done onza I say and everyone else should stop being snobs... sorry about the rant
  5. I think Will Arnold uses one and I have seen it hold on some huge front wheel moves in the flesh. They have loads of power and decent modulation. If I didn't already have an avid I would buy one but I'm too lazy to change my brakes over go for it
  6. I had the same problem on my 04 t pro using the standard onza square taper cranks. The BB I used to solve this was a shimano un52 with a 68mm shell and a 127.5 axle. Should be about £15 from any bike shop. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=12 hope this helps
  7. ok, My current set up is quite stretched out for me as im only 5'8" and i would be interested in a more spinnable frame such as an ashton maybe. The leesons are nice looking bikes but I am looking for a cheaper frame really ta
  8. Hello everyone, I have been away from the trials scene for a fair few months now and am considering a full new 26" build as Ive got myself a new job. I currently have a bt raven6 which is a bit big for me really, I mostly ride street but don't mind natural. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. ta
  9. Just to let you know, this guy knows his stuff He's repaired/constructed all sorts for me and is a sound fellow.
  10. i saw this topic in the news section but saw there were two maps of two different places. the nps downhill round is definately in corris near aberystwyth, does anyone know which corris the trials round is at? sorry if im being a bit slow.......
  11. The 05 levers are more comfortable to use, BUT ive seen one snapped and one badly cracked. i have never had any snapping/cracking problems with the older type. the 05s seem to be made of a slightly thinner material
  12. i was trying to choose between the echo hifi and zoo stem for my bt raven6 but i ended up getting a base 20*120 stem from bikedock. its a good medium and is comfortable to use
  13. best front brake ive ever used was a magura julie with a hs33 (03) lever. plenty of adjustment available, immense power, loads of modulation and no lever flex. cheap and reliable
  14. i used to do a fair bit of rock climbing, then my mate destroyed his back (Y) its pretty much trials or silly fast remote control cars for me now though
  15. my chris king hub has had three months of regular riding and is not making a consistent noise when it freewheels anymore, it sounds as if there are two different freewheels (Y) i removed the axle and couldn't see any grit/crap on bearings but how do i get into the drive system? thanks
  16. i have a raven 6 with about 40mm rise. awful for the first few rides-no big gaps, dodgy ups and a weird sea sick fealing. i did think about getting rid, but stuck with it and my riding has progressed significantly now after a month of persiverance. ultimately its down to personal preference really and some high bb frames look bad in my opinion. B)
  17. unfortunatley the comp has been cancelled, so could someone please remove this topic to avoid any further confusion. thanks.
  18. if anyone is undecided about going, i say GO, youll only regret it if you dont!
  19. if anyone hasn't heard about the proposed comp/jam read this thread http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....showtopic=60688 dont be put off by the "comp" side of things, previous events-for example the january (?) jam round have had really good atmospheres. these events need your support or i cant see the series lasting much longer. :P theres still time to get an entry form and be part of something special if we dont support our sport who will?
  20. id get a small mp3 player instead, no danger of damaging it in a crash. :(
  21. am i the only person who doesnt like gold, cheap and nasty in blue its a different matter though........
  22. theres never going to be a definate "this bike is perfect for everyone" answer i guess, so its all down to personal preference really. sorry for being a bit vague ;)
  23. they are quite short, but this might help with street depending on your riding style. chainstays are nice and short too. most people who have had one say they great and i agree, the downtubes aren't the strongest but they are really meant for competitiion use ;) hope this helps
