  3. Talcum or graphite powder is used in car tyres because of the amount of heat caused by friction between the tyre and tube, without it the two can vulcanize from the heat. This makes tube removal very difficult/destructive as fragments of tube get stuck to tyre casing. Bikes obviously don't produce anywhere near the amount of heat to vulcanize innertubes. Talcum powder however does release the air faster when a puncture occurs, as a tube what gets stuck to the tyre casing will retain air after thorn penetration for example because the thorn plugs the casing hole leaving the tube hole with no outlet. This applies to 'snakebites' as well which is why sometimes if you land harsh the 'snakebite' doesn't occur till 10 minutes later for example. So talcum powder does prevent this, as it does stop the innertube sticking to the tyre casing. I don't understand how it would help prevent a 'snakebite' though as an innertube inflated cannot move in the tyre, regardless of the use of talcum powder because no transitional forces exist and on top of that, the holding force between the tube and casing is large.
  4. I don't see how you can heavily criticize a frame that hasn't been distributed/on sale yet, Phase bikes isn't Saracen is it? so how you can make a comparison to the Saracen frames I don't know (apart from the fact they have both had design input by MAD ). If you owned a Phase 'MAD' frame and snap it fairly easily/quickly then yes, you do have a valid say on the quality/lifespan of these frames. These bikes (as far as I am aware do only come as a full build bike) are clearly primarily targeted for people who are just starting up trials being as MAD are after all a demo team who are introducing people to the sport, so why not showcase full build bikes which people are going to look at as a realistic price in comparison to a frame only what is the same price? I personally like the frame myself, the geometry sounds good, they come in a good range of colours as oposed to the 'long, low and silver' type frames and the components on the bike look pretty decent for the price, it will be interesting to hear the kind of feedback they get.
  5. That was briliant. Music was good, editing was good and the riding was great, was aggressive and powerful but smooth at the same time, kind of like a more 'hoppy' version of Akrigg. Keep it up
  6. Geometry I believe is: Wheelbase: 1000mm Head angle: 72° Chainstay length: 405mm As its been said if your riding is very street orientated it should suit you nicely.
  7. Really, really nice bike their Mike. The only thing thats looks out of place to me is the GU forks, something like pashley forks would have looked much better but you obviously chose the GU forks for its features/performance. The eccentric dropouts (even if the idea first originated from Hoffman) is a really neat feature, will be interesting to see how that holds up over time.

  9. True, however if you look at half the topics on here and the 'trials chat' forum they are asking for opinions on some sort of component. This is a forum, it is used to generate opinions, thaughts and ideas about everything asked
  10. Really enjoyable video, looks like it was a fun day for all and the video portrayed that nicely
  11. Whats wrong with the frame being old and that it doesn't have a 'modern style' geometry? some people feel more comfortable and prefer the shorter wheel base/low amount of bb rise bikes...
  12. Make sure you follow the guidelines, post helpful content and you will be validated quickly. Welcome to the forum
  13. Then keep on continuing to do so, be patient, follow the guidelines and I am sure you will be validated soon enough.
  14. Yes due to him having a 31.8mm clamp stem. The ZOO! bar seems to be the most popular choice now, however you are not restricted to just using a trials brand for a handlebar with a 31.8mm clamp stem as most manufacturers are producing most of their bars in 31.8mm as well as the standard 25.4mm diameter...
  15. Nice video, good to see that you have the motivation to go out and ride/film by yourself and it looks like Italy has some good riding locations to offer. Keep it up
