Hey I've seen Dan ride before and every time he has left my jaw on the ground- a truely amazing rider ! I've heard the name Zoltan been thrown around at rides, but never seen the guy ride. From the video he seems like an extremely capable rider! Great stuff guys! Neil
  3. You sure? We were at the rocks behind Spice - he was on a black frame, looked a lot like Sean's GU? If not no biggy, just was thinking bout a new frame. I see you were thinking of one too! lol! I'll stop clogging your thread dude. XxX
  4. Hey Moggles! Hows tricks? Great vid dude - my favourite bit was your stack! But i can see your power moves progressing very well! Good stuff and keep it up! I hope to ride with you soon buddy Neil P.S. Is Ian selling his GU? If so i would take it off his hands!
  5. Hey Rob There have been previous threads on this topic. At first it would seem that a half link chain is a good idea and does eliminate a lot of the tensioning problems. However, a trials-forum boffin illustrated that they are weaker and are not suitable for trials. I know a few riders who have used them, but return to normal chains after a short period of time. If you want a strong chain get a KHE (but does get stiff links), if not get a KMC (I've never had a prob with them). If you are trying to avoid the problem of tensioning, tighten up your bolts and use snail cams. You'll have to keep doing it as they move, but i'd rather have a stronger chain and do the odd adjustment. Best of luck. Neil
  6. Indeed Rowly! I know it helped me to look over a few friend's CVs when writing mine. I found it also helps you to remember your past experiences. Neil
  7. Owww......i don't think i wrote one in the end LOL! BUT - try using the internet to get some sample statements. Also i'd be more than willing to cast my eye over it when you're done ! Best of luck bro! Neil P.S. Somebody must have one they could send him?

Hey I can't wait to see this!!! I have a bit of a semi just thinking about it - although this could just be due to the fact of morning wood.....either way i can't wait!! Just waiting for it to load - will edit when done! Ohhh Dave i don't know what to expect apart from some CRAZY moves! I'm so excited XxX EDIT: There was some really tech stuff going down there Dave, it was nice to see a good mix of tricks. Editing and filming was cool, i really did like some of those angles. You guys should get together and get a big vid out, but great stuff anyways!!! I look forward to the next one! Neil
  9. Hey The Y.T.F.N. site is being made as we speak and is looking good so far! I also went to Buthiers the other week and met Vince and James Barton. Both of these guys are amazing with some sick skills - so much power! Anyways......the site should be up and running soon....watch this space!! Neil
  10. I think Fat Pants is joking...... Neil
  11. Hey Adz does really seem to know his stuff when it comes to bikes! I'd put a lot of faith in him ! I also had a similar problem with a disc brake, however, by "jiggling" your wheel about and trying different positions i was able to get rid of the grinding. It was hassle, but would do for a couple of weeks. Best of luck!! Neil
  12. True - but if it is for £13 i don't think they would empty their account and have to cancel standing orders etc. Unless they are a pro scammer and set up a quick account...i guess youngsters don't have direct debits or standing orders etc though...
  13. This may sounds silly - is Oxford in Oxfordshire? If so i can let you borrow a pair of bars i have so you can get riding. My mate Ross is going there this weekend i think.... They're only onza ones, but you could use them until you get yourself sorted? Neil I don't know Max??? I got scammed on here and opened a dispute. You can only recieve the amount of money in his account to the value that you paid, but in my case i got half my money back (as he did not have the full amount i paid) and half a bike . But it worked out, so i'd say its always worth a try! Neil
  14. Lol - Tom! I didn't realise you changed your profile name! Took me a while to figure it out! Monty bikes are very competition orientated as they are light, but are renowned for cracking. As you will be in the Portsmouth area i would have thought you may ride more street, therefore i would not get a monty. The Yabba on the other hand is quite new on the market and very few riders use them. The stock version seemed OK, but the mod is a bit of an unknown quantity. In my opinion the monty is better than the Yabba and Onza, but you will break it fairly soon - if not the frame then the components. Echo on the other hand are amazing! I understand that you have a budget but a deng frame would last much longer (GU, Zoo, Czar, Adamant etc) and offer a wide variety of geometry too. Just to let you know......my bike is fairly mint and i'd even be willing to offer some sort of guarentee. I was told the last bike i sold (zoo 05) was the best bike he has ever ridden (Thurston Brown on the forum) and in my opinion this bike is even better!! If you price up all the components of the bike you will see what a bargain i'm offering - price is also negotiable to some extent. But the parts on my bike are built to last unlike other standard components which you will pay the same price for. On the other hand i understand people like to buy things from new, especially if you don't know the person you're buying from!! Best of luck with your endeavour! Neil Lol! I managed to get it in the second time - Thanks Chris, always there to help me out!
  15. First in response to your post; 1) Most people buy trials products from - Trials UK - Tartybikes - Selectbikes - Trialsman (Stick them in google - i'm sure you'll get the right site) 2) Onza bikes are quite good bikes to start on IMO. They're obviously not top of the range, but the main components will last you for a while. However, as you have experience with bikes (you say you've modified you giant), you may find that you out perform the bike relatively soon. This would mean you've spent a lot on a new bike that you don't use for too long and you want a new "better" bike. For this reason i would try and get a better spec bike. 3) The main manufacturer of trials components is Deng who makes a number of branded products; - Echo - Zoo - Czar - GU These are some of the most popular trials brands and are usually quite good as many experienced riders use them. Owwww......i probably shouldn't be doing this.....but what they hey I just finished uni in Portsmouth, so if you ride with any of those guys they will vouch for my honesty and stuff. I'm selling my mod as i've moved back to stock. Any one of them will tell you the bike has not been abused and i'm not a harsh rider. The bike is absolutely top spec - as below Frame - Echo Team (only used for 3 months or so) Forks - Koxx Forxx Drive terrain - Echo CNC with Echo Bash and MOE BB Old style Zoo bars with monty foam grips and Echo HIFI stem Rear wheel - Profile on tryall rim Front wheel - Echo CNC rim on echo hub Front brake - Magura louise with organic pads Rear - HSS33 with Zoo pads maxxis tyres All in great condition and i will come down Portsmouth and you can test ride for as long as you like. I'd be looking for £450 as this is really a top spec bike that will last you for years without a doubt. Feel free to email me (Handsomedog1@hotmail.com) if you are interested or would like pics Cheers Neil
  16. After seeing Dave's message on MSN i'm tempted...... I'll see what Rossy G and BJ are doing, then make a decision on what to do! Neil P.S. I've very tempted if ZhiNuts is going - what an amazing rider!
  17. Hmmmm weather looks good, but i've got loads of work and if it rains i don't think i could ride.........Hmmmmmm will see closer to the time.... Neil XxX
  18. Thats damn straight Danny, Neil is back in the ghetto! Looking forward to seeing all you guys again(Y)!! I do warn you, my bike is pretty busted and i'm pretty shocking, but i'm out to see some of the old guys! Peace out Neil XxX P.S. Will have to get the train as i have no car
  19. Great stuff Speedy Justice! I think you've progressed so much in a short space of time. I hope you come down to Reading for a ride sometime, as i shall be back there in a few days. Neil
  20. So i went on a date yesterday with the girl i picked up at the library. Errrmmmm......it was OK, she seems a little shy, but has an AMAZING body, i got a hard on sitting next to her! BUT, her face is not so great - sort of an inconsistent pigmentation of the skin.....sounds a little harsh i know . I think she either has scars from spots of chicken pox or something.....but i'm not sure if make up covers it up, as it was kinda on show yesterday. I don't know.......am i being really fussy? She is spending the night tomo and seems to have emotionally attached herself to me, but i only have 1 week left at uni bad timing. But then again i'm not amazing with women so maybe i should give it a shot. Neil Its just the face thing to be honest.......but my ex had things i hated, but i still loved her for it you know what i mean? What would you guys do? Get in, get off, get out? I'm not that sort of guy really......... EDIT - just needed to get it off my chest you know.
  21. I think with trials products progressing the way they are it may not be the most profitable idea. Parts are lasting longer and are lighter, thus people will rarely need replacing of BB etc and if any part was on its way out they are more able to carry it. The main problem for me would be payment. Not many people carry around £60 for a BB or £30 for bars. Fair enough they may be able to use a cash point, however, i find most of the time i ride i'm not near any cash points. You'd also have to carry around a few different components as not all are compatable. Also the number of rides you'd have to go on to make any sort of profit would be huge. If the odds of a bike breaking is 1 in 15 rides, you would have to drive to a number of destinations over a long period of time to make any pure profit, which is much less than is spent on petrol. I understand you may want to attened the ride to actually ride, but do you ride a new place every week? I found Portsmouth to be a very popular riding spot, with riders travelling down from all over the country to ride, but i know i could not have made any money from selling spares. Best of luck if you do try this idea . Neil P.S. you could start by just having a few spares in you backpack and selling them on rides.....i would think this to be a better idea. P.P.S the turnaround on stock is extremly fast therefore you'd have to keep updating the products you stock....may be a bit of a loss.
  22. I've seen Ash's progression from early on in his career and i would recommend his advice on that basis. Bless him - he's all grown up now . Also i agree with Rich with respect to the fear never leaving you. I've been riding for a fair few years and i get it every day. My fastest progression was when i said to myself "FOOK it i'm gonna go for it - i don't care what happens". Its a tough frame of mind to get in, but helps. Now i'm a bit older i have to look after my body a bit, so i'm less willing. But give it a try, see how it goes? Neil Esa polly homerphi (I attempted to spell phentically _ :$ i know the spelling is wrong, but its the only greek phrase i know)
