  1. it totally depends on your course and what grade you wanna get! but most (if not all) uni's encorage to do things outside actual work, sports, societies, etc so yeah you will have free time! plus you can do stuff during the day (ride you bike) and work at night and stuff - outside lectures you can organise your time to get the most out of it. uni > real life mike
  2. i reckon there is plenty of life left in ashton holyrod like boon said... akkers will be back but waynio i think , he has already been in it.
  3. i learning on vertical walls dude but its cracking the leeson...eeeeekkkkkk hopefully i can get some pointers off peeps on this leeds ride at xmas because i am the only trying outta our group of riders. but yeah like bongo said mix things up a bit -try manifeto style! try different moves - rail rides if you don't normally do them or whatever. try not to get stressed if you can't make something. I was trying a 5.5 - 6 ft gap last night and gapping pretty shitly. so i thought f**k it and tried to do it in a sidehop gap instead - took me a few goes, but made it biggest one yet! its all good. maybe set your bike up differently more streety or more trialsy! go out have a laugh try a few random tricks - just have fun! mike
  4. I just ride for fun (inc messing about with mates too) and progression - riding does keep me relatively fit and heathly, especially compared to my non riding mates but to me thats a bonus! I do care about how my bike rides too - because you set it up 'how it is good for you and your style' but that ain't the reason why i ride. I think everyone wants to be good anyway and everyone wants to get better, thats obivious, but some people are more fussed about being the best than others, but thats how world champions are made! Yeah I have riding goals and aims, some are just I wanna be able hook, do that gap, etc by next summer or whenever and some i just think 'wouldn't be cool if i could do that' (these are normally just random tricks though...hahaha I do think sometimes trials riders are too harsh and get too stressed, because one night they can't do a gap or can tap49" instead of 51" or whatever. take a step back and do a different line, move, techniques and come back and try it a different day. mike
  5. Wtf are you doing to break forks half way up the damn steerer tube. I would never buy any forks after seeing a set go there. thats shockingly shit, imo!! mike
  6. my 8310 has taking an absolute beating - plus its third hand off a few mates Its still pretty small too. Mike
  7. your joking right ? i had more grip that time i ran an oil slick intead of a tire... mike
  8. i think the tensiles are awesome cranks - i have given mine some real abuse (grind, bunnyhop to 90 onto crank/pedal, drops, random tricks and just generally smashing them into stuff) and they are still going. They feel way nicer than the burns too. mike
  9. yeah but they are pretty rare the mavic xy rim is probably the best 24" rim i have never had

  15. i like and and trust 'proper' bike makes too - theres hardly a trials component on my bike frame wise i would buy all of them except monty and toxsin, but koxx are generally overpriced parts wise i would only probably go with onza and probably echo, but just for rims.
