  1. Twitchy!!!!! Wouldn't want to have to rail it through any berms that's for sure.
  2. Fair point, simply put thread lock can't stop a freely rotating bolt screw out of a nut of some description if the threads are all ok. When installing a BB, clean both the threads in the frame and the BB. Face the BB shell if required and chase the threads. Grease the threads. Put the non-drive cup in half way as a guide, screw in the drive side and torque up as specced, then tighten the non-drive up. Should be fine.
  3. That's what i thought, surely physics would dictate that if the threads are intact then the bolt must come upwards.
  4. I think the point is that the bond between the two threaded parts is extremely strong, depending on the BB, if its faced etc the section where the BB tool inserts into can shear off.
  5. I would imagine the inner silver section of the star nut came loose from the main bit and was spinning as he turned the bolt.
  6. Think MG-1s are the the way to go if you don't like caged pedals. Probably the nicest feeling and fairly light too, cheap off ebay
  7. It's a Hope Mono Trial and yes they're good. Urbans are only a standard iso mount, so if the brake is a 180mm rotor, with a 160mm calliper so it can run on forks with a +20 mount then.. no.
  8. I think what Ross is getting at is that Marino is a custom build special order company, he doesn't really carry anything in stock.
  9. Bike looks a lot better imn the newer pics. Have to agree with comments about the disc mount, not a massive fan of the dropouts either; looks like a more basic/agricultural version of the already 'basic and industrial' tensioning system used by the Onza frames.
  10. People using the forum as a Tartybikes question and answer board.... they have their own phone and email system and are really friend and helpful... use it! Not posting pictures when creating a for sale thread, it's a simple thing to do and makes it so much easier to sell/buy something. People generally being too lazy to research something themselves, google if used right is an awesome tool, but some people still feel the need to clog the forum with simple questions that would take 2 minutes of research on the topic starters part.
  11. Wasn't the Tech X2 the replacement for the Mono Mini? As in a XC brake? Hope make a trials specific brake why would you try one of there others that are intended for other disciplines?
  12. Yeah the mod limey 4, there's a stock too which Andrei Burton is riding, this one:
  13. Yeah he's got the first one that Joe Seddon was riding and Joe still has one... sure there were some pics of it.. its purple, dual disc and bloody light. Think it was 990 wb +90 can't remember the rest.
  14. I guess when the other 2011 Onza bikes and frames get released. As for pics i guess they're waiting for official production frames to get some decent pics?
  15. Where is Canardweb when you need him....
  16. Don't forget BB axle size will affect your chain line and crank clearance. If what size you've got at the moment gives you a decent chain line and clearance then go for that one. If in doubt give Tarty a ring they're there to help.
  17. Having a look at the Echo, it's a very good spec. Trialtech foam grips and maybe a change to a Echo SL freewheel, but it's not 100% needed.
  18. It's a really nice bike, to be honest I wouldn't change any of it apart from the pedals to MG-1s and that's only because I prefer platform pedals.
  19. Not a good time mate! Hopefully hope will sort it out for you? Just make sure you tell them your mounts were faced etc when you installed it. I didn't realise the older one was any different apart from the lever and the colour?
  20. The pic is far far too small to be able to see what parts are on it. Do you have a picture of the bike on your computer?
  21. Could you get an actual photo of the crack as that just looks like you've put a line on the Tarty bikes pic using Microsoft paint....
  22. Not me now as i'm gonna go ride Portland instead
  23. Maybe because they're brand new out? Too similar to inspired and onza frames? The TGS frame is the one that Damon Watson has just got right? So it's really really new. Wouldn't balme it on Tarty they can't stock everything available!
