  1. That was caused by incorrect chainstay tube lengths, not the design. Deng is now opening his own factory so one can expect these problems to be resolved.
  2. Now that's a nicely made frame.
  3. You could try to get yourself featured on the news and tell the nation to log onto trials-forum right after the weather forecast.
  4. Same here. All of them are missing something. I think it's the looks. A Deng frame is just differently shaped tubes welded together. A Koxx is the same but with added great paint jobs.
  5. Still can't manual. Been 9 years now.

What a superb video. It might just keep me riding, you've reminded me of all the things I've forgotten about. I think the strongest point you made was that as we progress, we take our skills for granted and get used to what we do on our bikes finding it less and less impressive. But if one looks at what we do from an observers point of view, our riding is a big achievement, even if it's just getting up a small wall or hopping on the rear wheel. Can this be downloaded anywhere?
  7. If they say that just tell them to shut up. I prefer riding in a group, nothing better than standing and talking to mates with a bike between your legs.
  8. Lucky you, would love mine to be 1.58kg. I used to run a Nobby Nic 2.4" on the rear which was 650g. Must have had around 20-30 snakebites in a month, after that i threw it away. It was the most awful, pinch happy tyre ever. Surely this Conti can't be any better seeing as it's actually lighter. Also about the stiffness, have you tried removing the booster? When I got my frame it was flexy as f**k, brake wouldn't work at all. Even an Echo 4 bolt booster couldn't keep it from bending. After a few weeks of riding the brake started becoming more and more solid up to the point where the booster was no longer necessary. Now the brake is pretty much rock solid.
  9. Well after posting that I pulled my bike apart and weighed every smallest little bit. The frame is 1,85kg Anyway, with a few minor changes I can get it down to 8,2kg which unfortunately means changing the frame to a Control. But they have a great geometry so it should be a nice thing to ride. Didn't notice the light rear tyre in that Tarty bike, it kinda explains everything and disqualifies the result. Such a tyre can't be part of a "no compromise" bike unless Harry Potter cast a protective spell on it. But yeah, our frames will last so long that they'll be ridden by our grandsons! Triton is pretty much dead now isn't it? Haven't heard from Dimitri for a good year or so.
  10. The 26" disc forks are really flexy, on a maggie they're fine. The 20" forks are surprisingly stiff even with a disc brake.
  11. That's quite an impressive feat. Still can't quite understand why it's so light. It's almost 1kg less than my bike and I can't imagine where that missing kilogram is. You've probably got more interesting things to do but I'd love to see a spreadsheet with the weight of the wheels (inc & exc. tyres and tubes), stem+bar, frame+fork+drive. That would give an idea about where the most weight has been saved. By the way, those TR brake mounts are marvellous. Not only stupidly light but they make the brake work so much better. Shame that they only work with rims that have parallel sidewalls. edit: you might get an order from me for those bars and bb soon... damn this thread and the hole it might to create in my pocket!
  12. I used to run Maguras on vegtable oil until I discovered water. Worked ok, couldn't see any downsides.
  13. Also get manual dreams, at least a couple of times a year. They're great fun.
  14. Imagine how difficult that story would be to read if he tried to recreate it word for word instead. Instead of: We'd have: Then in reply, the following words were used: loose bush, tightened bottom. The sentence was in past tense. It also contained other words but I don't exactly remember which. Pashley26 did a good job considering how awkward that story might have been to read if he tried to write exactly and only what he remembered.
  15. Yep, that's good advice. The old Echo Control frames were as solid as frames got. And they had brilliant geometry, both short and long. You can grab one cheap from Tartybikes with the mod-stock hub spacing.
  16. This is a good one: Apparently Chrysler is asking each American taxpayer to donate 70 dollars in order to save the "legendary" car manufacturer. Perhaps if they didn't make crap cars and had a decent management which doesn't use their private jets to get to every meeting, they wouldn't have to make a laugh out of themselves.
  17. Met quite a lot of people through riding, only a few can I call friends. If you find that the only connection between you and your riding buddies is the interest in trials then they're never going to become real mates. On TF I think the only person I've met and can call my friend is Anzo.
  18. Why is the seat in your bmx at such a strange angle?

    Would You...

A cybernetic penis, that'd be cool. One that you can pump up to be 2ft in diameter if you get bored with it's regular size.
