  1. Yeah, pretty much. The long version with a Trialtech stem/bar combo is ok. But the short frame is unacceptable.
  2. This is going so off topic... The reason for that purchase was to know when i'm sober and therefore to be able to return home. It's pretty obvious that I didn't buy it to drive home intoxicated? So at which point is somebody's life at risk?
  3. What's that got to do with anything? I wish him a speedy recovery but stand by my words.
  4. Echo TR blades aren't sold separately. So even if they did fit, you'd need to buy the whole lever first.
  5. Keep it simple - Maggie with an Echo CNC lever blade. You get the advantage of the Echo brake system with the reliability of a good old Magura.
  6. 20" and 19" Echo wheels can be built on 174mm spokes, but that's just a coincidence. I agree with trying to do it yourself. You've got to learn these things. While the first build might be really frustrating especially as it's a tiny wheel, the next ones will be easier and easier until you reach a stage where you'll actually enjoy yourself.
  7. That's one of the best trailers I've ever seen. Really makes one look forward to the proper thing. Stunning editing skills, great quality and music. What else could you ask for
  8. Pretty much, they're not strong rims but they're good enough. 40mm Echo Urbans are overkill, they're strong enough to be used on the rear wheel.
  9. What an awful noise Are you putting honey/sugar on your brakes? Surely a 160mm Mono Trial should be good enough?
  10. It's worth looking at hubs in big shops like CRC to see if this is not just a slightly modified, re-branded hub. 120 ep's is quite a lot though, wonder how they've managed to pack that many into a small shell. Unless they're using 2 ratchets with 60ep's and 20 teeth on each?
  11. Cheers for the help, by the sound of things it could work rather well. Will look into this more thoroughly if we get too much snow this winter
  12. Come on Mark, you're smarter than that. He's got a kid and a wife and he probably provides for his family, so how utterly stupid is it to pull off dangerous stunts without any safety gear? It took him a near death experience to realize that? If he was killed what would you say, fine he's dead but at least he wasn't hot in his head when riding. Or whatever the reason is that these people don't wear helmets for. Anyone who does something where even the smallest mistake can result in serious injury or death and doesn't wear any safety gear is an idiot. It's their choice, but they're still idiots.
  13. Was feeling sympathetic about this until he said that now he'll wear his helmet. What an idiot.
  14. Bit old post, but those are Surly 4" tyres, primarily designed for riding in sand I think. There was a bunch of guys who had their bikes built by Surly in order to ride across Australia. These also have massive rims, 50+ mm if I remember correctly.
  15. Not too interesting, left set is for one car, right is for the other. That + 2 keys for getting into the house.
  16. I'm thinking of temporarily going 24" and double disc on my bike, mainly in order to increase braking power and reduce wheel flex. Has anyone tried riding their stock on 24" wheels? Just wondering if it'll make any difference at all.
  17. Very well made, big respect for the effort you put into this. The only thing that bothered me was that you couldn't see anything but I realize this was more of an artistic expression rather than a demonstration of riding skills.
  18. I also like it. These belts are bound to be quite strong, generally belts of this kind are, when designed for a specific purpose of course. I hope this catches on and they eliminate the need to cut your frame in half to get it on. It looks like you could also fine tune your gear ratio with one of these. And if the ones used on that website weigh 80g, imagine how strong a 300g belt would be.
  19. Well they have if you think about it. If he could afford a helicopter, he had to get the money from somewhere didn't he?
  20. Well, there are a few large trials riders, so it's not all down to laziness. But then, those guys are fit despite being large so they don't really come under the negative meaning of a fat person. It's sometimes genetic, but the majority of fat people just eat way too much and move way too little. A morbidly obese tax would be a good idea, it'd be easy to enforce it as well. Policemen wouldn't have a problem with spotting the culprits on the street eh?
  21. You wouldn't want to be stuck in an elevator with a fatty then. It's a good idea but will it really help? I read an article recently about how much we pay for keeping fat people alive and the sum was staggering. But there's a simpler solution to end this problem - fit hospitals with very narrow doors.
  22. MET Veleno - recommended
  23. Not too keen on the looks, but i'm sure it's nice to ride.
  24. You run 22:17? Sorry for the OT, just interested.
