  1. Whatever you do, don't use Parcel Force.
  2. They ride extremely well but are very weak
  3. how do you mount a brake then? if you have any ideas please write them down by the looks of things you haven't read the 1st post... besides, getting a rear hub would cost me money. got a hardly used funn hub with a disc mount, screw on sprocket and funbolts in return for a set of pads - as i wrote in the 1st post, i don't want to spend any more money....
  4. Same here, not too sure about looks but I bet it rides really well, as Controls usually do
  5. Greetings

    Ben G?

Come on, it's been almost a month now, can't take that long to reach London He said he sent it recorded and threw the receipt away... I'm not going to jump to conclusions but that already sounds a bit dodgy.
  6. had the same as Alex, it would take me ages before I'd feel confident to sidehop a wall.. this was because i sidehopped to the direction of my lead foot, when the rear wheel didn't make it onto the wall i'd fall onto my back, bottom or head having learned to sidehop to the opposite direction to my lead foot, i now feel really confident. now i'm more scared about the front wheel not making it just try and learn to sidehop to the right. it's not as difficult as it may seem. concentrate on that and only that for about 3 days and i promise you'll get much better at sidehops
  7. Was just browsing some Australian BT website, your prices are stupidly low Probably something to do with the shipping costs from China being low?
  8. The coating is only a few microns thick, it won't make the frame more prone to cracking.
  9. This isn't as easy as it seems. And it's f**king dangerous. I read an article about DIY anodizing but it was about 10x longer. They're missing a few key points in there, like the density of current, temperature of the bath etc. If you want a good effect, you've got to do it properly. Good find nevertheless. And yeah, it's very tempting!
  10. Fank U 4 beeing with us. (i'm learning msn talk in my free time, hope i haven't made any mistakes above?)
  11. Good buy, these rims are said to be really strong. And great value as well
  12. Greetings

    Ben G?

thanks any luck with your wheel Shaun?
  13. dunno where my mate got this quote from, here it is: LMAO It's still damn nice, if only it had a disc mount!
  14. Posting for Jake: 219M std ZOO old style bars 221Ti 740 And a close-up: The ones shown on the pic are for 219M bars which have a thicker sidewall. Bottom one is for 720mm and top one for 740mm
  15. ipod printer camera pda MMC/SD card reader router 20 year old goodmans amp
  16. I think it's great! It still needs a USEFUL.COM sticker:
  17. you'll enjoy the price, about 40p for 0,5L where exactly are you going?
  18. Oh dear lord. 2,08kg including bashplate. The PR without one weighs 1,94kgs (weighed it myself) and an eagle claw bash is 182g (also weighed it myself 2 minutes ago). The price elasticity of demand for Deng frames is very high and so the prices will be high. It's quite simple, why should they be sold for 200 if people will buy them for 300? As for cranks, they're made out of a much better grade of aluminum, are forged and then CNC'd and finally anodized. Monty 221Ti's (which also only come in one length!) aren't. 231Ti's are and I can't see them being cheaper than Adamants. Seriously dude, if you compare something, don't compare a Fiat to a Mercedes. Also, making a disc mount doesn't cost much more, nor does it weigh anything. There are reasons why companies don't make them. With Deng it's because he doesn't think he can make a tab that will last as long as his frames. EDIT: The expensiveness of Monty comes in when you buy something with two letters after the model: "Ti" Bars and stem each for ~60 quid? A 231Ti for 550? I happen to deal in Monty parts this end and can tell you that the price tag of a 231Ti in the UK is much more irrational than of a Team.
  19. Agreed. Just get a BB7, they're better in every way. Had a Hope for ages and got fed up with it so i'm now running a BB7 and it's great. If the brake squeaks the pads are probably contaminated. When the brake is working correctly, it should make a kind of deep cracking noise when it slips. Get new pads and clean the rotor very thoroughly!
  20. Very rare setup there, I'd hang on to it
  21. You do realize that Monty and Echo group components are made in the same factory by the same people? I really doubt that the people working there would do a good job of monty frames and then say "oh wait a sec, this is going to be an adamant, let's gobble up some sake and then get down to welding it". This is not the case with newly started companies, Zhi were terrible when they branched in and now they're fine. EDIT: and one more thing, Monty aren't at all that light! Fair play, they do make a sub 9kg mod but that's a competition bike. The standard build Pr is about 10kgs and the 231Ti is over 12kg. My Adamant weighs 10,3kgs with 780g pedals. I love Montys, had a few in the past and they were great, but all of them cracked. The only one that didn't crack in my hands was a 221Ti which cracked a week after it changed its owner...
