  1. It's a paint stripper, it won't remove anodizing. I remember Ben Travis writing something about caustic soda working?
  2. Nice bike, I'd change that cassette into a single speed if i were you
  3. Thank god this guy is only going to make a mess out of the NMC... People have their own opinions, they don't need to listen to your advice even if you've owned a Chris King hub and Suntour cranks in the past. I think the problem is that you think you know a lot, but actually you know very little - well apart from your knowledge on leading companies which is staggering. Edit: Sorry just read this That should be put down in the Trials Forum book of most stupid conclusions. I've done 20 foot downhill drops on Alivio square taper cranks - so does that mean they're as good as Echo, Middleburn and Tensile cranks?

Reduces the volume of fat ladies by increasing their surface area
  5. Go for the freewheel then! More ground clearance, better engagement = less chance of your chain snapping plus it makes the bike more responsive
  6. Well, unless your Davetrials, just use normal steel bolts.
  7. Just build it up like any other wheel and miss out two holes in each flange. They are in no way weaker than a standard build.
  8. Monty 231Ti are the same as the old Tensiles. You can get them for around 50 quid in the Czech Republic. I'll have a new pair in a few weeks if you're interested.
  9. Really don't understand how this bike can be so light. It's got some really heavy parts in it. With a few mods you could bring it down to almost 9kgs which sounds impossible.
  10. Really good video! Makes me want to ride
  11. yeah got that wrong it's as strong as steel but half the weight, some alloys are over 3x stronger than steel
  12. It's a bit lighter than steel and about 3 times stronger. The average Triton frames weigh about 1,8kgs if I remember correctly which is less than most alu frames. And yet they're said to be very strong.
  13. Might be easier for us to decide if you told us what current setup you have?
  14. 170mm weigh 442g, just checked mine. The bash is about 40g I think, can't check as it's on a different pair of cranks.

Could well be a scratch. Remove the lacker and take a better picture.

  17. £285.60 looks like most of us have peed in a pool and kissed somebody we didn't know
  18. It's funny how people who use these hubs get really pissed off when somebody complains at them. Get a life people, it's a hub, not your gf, mum or best friend...
  19. --> QUOTE(joe b @ Apr 5 2007, 08:12 PM) ←3. Square holes in rims . They save almost nothing. Made them in my rims when I was utterly bored and it saved about 70g on the rear and 30g on the front. Plus the rim is a hell load weaker after doing so. Not recommended.
  20. Front tyre - get a wide XC tyre like a Schwalbe Nobby Nic (under 500g) Rear tyre - get an IRC ElGato, they weigh under 800g and are quite snakebite-proof. Only caught one on mine in about 8 months and it's got almost no thread left. Remove the mech and replace it with a home made tensioner or a Kingz
  21. Worked in VLC, had some audio-video sync problems in media player. Vid was great, very dynamic and riding was top notch. You Russians really have a style of your own. Quite a few strange stacks as well, liking the one where this guy on the Adamant does a 360 drop off and somehow manages to hit the rear wheel against the side of the wall. And that woman looked totally paranoid Stupidly good quality and colours. I'm getting a Sony HC7 soon, hope it's just as good, although I've heard that the HC1 (which is what you use?) beats all the later models hands down.
  22. It must be really gay to be Hermance, you're not allowed to ride a proper setup like a King or Hope. Nasty stuff.
