  1. Heard about this technique before, what is the maximum temperature I can expose the pads to? EDIT: just doing it with a blowtorch, is it normal for a pad to set on fire?
  2. Mud? Bedding in a rotor makes it smoother, you can't polish something with mud, you can do so with water though. Used mud on greased pads and rotor and it wasn't a good idea. To the topic starter, just use water
  3. Fair play, my issue was resolved well (was offered a short GU for 140 quid in return which is a good deal) but none of this would happen if you double-checked things, especially international orders. If Adam and Dave can do it, so can you. They also got one of my orders wrong, but the moment I told them about it, they dispatched the correct items and didn't even wait for my parcel to get to them first! Mistakes do occur but with a bit more effort you could really build up a reputation of a shop as reliable as TB. Service is key!

    Ben G?

Well, his refs seem fairly good but not perfect. I bought a stem off him and paid instantly through PayPal. PM'd him this Friday but he didn't reply, can't catch him on MSN either Want my money back, got a cheap Thomson stem waiting. He said he's going to send it by 2nd class, they do recorded delivery for that service as well I guess?
  5. Dreamt of my ex this night. Really depressed now, even though I hardly think about her these days, I now feel as if we met yesterday and had a great evening and night. It was so real I didn't want to wake up. So I've been gobbling up gallons of Tyskie all day.

    Ben G?

My mate in London has already been waiting 2 weeks for my stem to arrive (and subsequently to forward it to me). Can't get in touch with the seller, has anybody on this forum received items from Ben bought in THIS thread? A bit worried...
  7. The opinions I've heard about them were that they are very grippy and extremely bouncy which makes up for the extra weight. They are after all quite heavy.
  8. SB are doing it again.... They once sent me a long frame instead of a short one which is already a big mistake but this is beyond the joke.
  9. Coustsinks all the way. Used loads of pads in the past and I just can't believe how Coustsinks can be so much better than anything else.
  10. have you changed the chainring or chain?
  11. Just downloaded this vid to see why there was such a row about this guy getting sponsored by Deng. Vid is good although the riding isn't quite to my taste. Liking the sidehops without tucking, they look oldschool
  12. as we're at it, i just want to ask if adam@tartybikes is a "secret" senior? just wondered why he never gets the "This post has been edited by..." text under his posts
  13. Not quite sure what it's called in english, Chinese instant noodles? Have them with tomato sauce, they're great and it only takes about 10 minutes to do and clean up.
  14. The Rings or something like that, twas on tv last night. Not bad i'd give it 7/10
  15. Maybe not in the UK but quite a few frames have been replaced this end We've just got a cool dealer I guess
  16. What's he doing on a Koxx? That can't be old footage, he's only just started riding in a helmet
  17. Greetings

    Bye Bye!

Has anyone been contacting him? How is he?
  18. Topic name suggests trials is funny? That video is sick. Silly americans...
  19. There's still some hope but if it can't get fixed a threadless bb is what will have to be used. Cheers for the advice
  20. Got a Mono Trials, getting a BB7 any day now. I'm fed up with how weak the Hope is on a stock wheel. The Hope has a nice feel and good modulation which a BB7 doesn't have. But if you need a powerful brake get the BB7. Had one in the past on my freeride bike and remember my 1st OTB at ~20mph very well My mate has a 160mm on a 26" wheel and it's just supidly strong for that size!
  21. Yep, saw a pic of the dropout braking off, didn't want to spoil your fun though Just ride it I'm sure they have some kind of guarantee.
  22. Yeah he did that bunnyhop to huge drop from a bridge in JIB, I'm pretty sure he did more impressive stuff in Down 3 though. Remember there was this Fear Factory - Cloning Technology soundtrack in some of the moves whereas in JIB Wixom wrote his own music. Might do a compilation tomorrow, people should see this.
  23. This isn't oldschool, I'd call anything older than say 98 oldschool. His riding is ok, he comes up with lines which is good. I much preferred V-Dubs "I can do trials on anything" approach, where he'd tackle natural on a Ellsworth downhill bike with a 10" Risse Champ fork. The guy could pedalkick that bike at least 7ft flat and bunnyhop about 3ft upwards it was crazy!! Well worth a watch, really interesting stuff. I think those moves were either in Down 3, Union or JIB.
