  1. That car is absolutely epic. Love the battered bumper too.
  2. Ouch, properly nasty Good luck getting your face fixed.
  3. Relationships are rarely a waste of time. Glad to hear it ended with you being angry at her, it'll make it a lot easier for you to move on. Good luck getting gay pal
  4. Compared to an N/A engine of the same power output Big engines with small turbos feel fine, it's the other way round that's a problem. I guess it's fun if all you want is torque, sadly that's not always the case.
  5. Agree with Adam, turbo cars feel awful.
  6. Repost from 8 years ago http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/285267
  7. Worth watching if you do motorsport: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g40YatgE_CE Driver doesn't have one, codriver does.
  8. Just came back from a 600 mile long journey in the E38 bimmer. Absolutely love that car. It's good for long journeys like this one, pulling the rally car across half the country on a trailer, it's fun to drive on mountain roads, engine sounds amazing, covering 100km in it costs like 6 quid if you go all eco or 8 if you drive it normally and on a rally practice session it was quicker with 5 people on board than a few stripped out E30's. Can't imagine a more versatile vehicle.
  9. This is amazing. Obviously just a render, will be finished in 2015. More: http://inhabitat.com/clearpoint-tower-in-sri-lanka-will-become-the-worlds-tallest-vertical-garden/
  10. Too harsh in my opinion. Don't want to put her off. No response is needed, or if you really feel the urge, just respond with We can see each other on Monday (or whenever your break is up).
  11. Cheers. If they give the brake a spongy feel then the mech/hydro advantage must be quite big. I'll give it a try, the M445 levers are like 9 pounds each. Seriously, how silly is that price?
  12. No good then? Which levers did you use?
  13. Has anyone on here tried to combine the Echo TR caliper with a Shimano Deore / XT / SLX servo wave brake lever? Seems like this combination could be cheap as chips considering these levers cost like 15 pounds in retail. I'm also guessing such a combination could result in a really powerful brake. Whether the caliper will be happy with higher pressures is a matter of testing. Edit: if anyone has any information regarding the mechanical and hydraulic advantage of the Shimano brake levers, could you share? Are the Deore, SLX, XT all the same or not?
  14. Pretty random but a coat of fibreglass resin?
  15. Usually the wider wheels will offer less clearance so perhaps you got them mixed up.
  16. Easy to calculate. The profile is a % of the width. So 215/45 = 96.7mm and 225/40 = 90mm. Depends on how you look at that, but it's not a small difference.
  17. Know exactly how you feel. It really sucks, every day feels like a week or even a month. As hard as it may seem, keeping your mind occupied with other things is the best you can do. I'd suggest sports - not bike trials but team sports with your best mates. Chose a sport which women don't participate in. Football / rugby / kicking yourself in the nuts... plenty of manly activities out there. Plan each day as if it was to be your last and if you feel like sulking and getting down, plan for that too - set yourself a time during the day when you're allowed to think about your relationship. Once the time is up, man up and carry on with your day. Sounds silly but it works.
  18. Got it new. Admittedly I didn't format the battery, only found out about that today. Not sure if after 1 week of use there's any point in formatting it?
  19. Cheers guys. Tried that and installed an energy saving app. Hope to see an improvement. Alternatively I can see there are larger batteries available, starting from 3000mAh to 7000mAh. Might give the 3000mAh a try if things are still bad and get the 7000mAh for holiday use.
  20. I'm starting to get pissed off at my recently acquired Galaxy S3. The battery needs a full charge ever 8-12 hours and I hardly use this piece of crap. It even goes flat overnight. Actually, it needs to be on the charger all the time in case I have to leave the office. Apparently the battery life on this phone is supposed to be good. Can't imagine what it'll be like if I go on holiday, will probably have to carry a charger and spare battery with me anywhere I go...
  21. Seems like it. I'd interpret it this way: she's starting to realize that she can't give this relationship a proper break. This is good for Dan. But Dan in my opinion should be a man and last the whole week she wanted off without any contact. After that, he should call her and ask her out as if nothing had happened, discuss the feelings they both had through the past week and gauge where this is going. He shouldn't be too emotional about missing her, but not too distant either.
  22. Usually disagree with Jardo but what he said actually fits my experiences as well. The moment a girl realizes she's not in the centre of your attention, there's a high chance she'll want to get back there.
  23. I can sort of understand where she's coming from. Some people need a break and although it's difficult to gauge whether this will benefit you two or completely ruin the relationship, surely it's worth a try? Obviously, she could be using that argument as a way to ease the blow for the both of you, but more for her in my opinion. After a week of "separation" it's going to be much easier for her to say goodbye but it could also make her realize how important you are to her. So it could really go both ways and saying you don't do breaks is not helpful. I had similar worries when we got together with my current gf, on one side I was happy to be in a relationship but also worried about not being single anymore. Got used to it, but what really helped was talking to her and agreeing that if we ever get bored of each other we would try a sort of separation first and try to deal with the fallout after getting back together. So you might be trading one problem for a completely different one but if you can't cope with the one you've got, perhaps you'll cope with what's to come.
  24. I'm sure there are people on here who frequently watch TED talks. How about sharing the more interesting ones? For starters: http://new.ted.com/talks/adam_spencer_why_i_fell_in_love_with_monster_prime_numbers - Prime numbers. Also recommend the last 2 minutes. http://new.ted.com/talks/gian_giudice_why_our_universe_might_exist_on_a_knife_edge - Very interesting insight into the Higgs field.
