Haha exactly my thoughts.

Very clean build. Could be the lack of pedals though. Actually, who needs pedals?

Car undergoing further mods, finally got some 50N/mm springs as opposed to the 120N/mm. Fronts are softer too. Engine is having the VANOS unit replaced. I was so glad to find out that the helical gears don't need removing and therefore there is no risk of upsetting the timing. The replacement VANOS seems to have been tampered with (could be good or bad, will find out tomorrow) and the cam gears according to my mechanic seem pretty much brand new. Got to drive an F20C powered E30 M3 today which I posted a pic of a few threads back. Really enjoyable car but clearly needs some more work. I forgot how short the throw is on the S2000 gearbox. You can hardly feel any movement whatsoever. A bit weird actually.

What Jardo said An almost stock RS Cup. Car technology has progressed greatly in the last 20 years. Modern stock cars will be quicker than older, extensively modified cars in most cases and that's before you consider the Exige is 2x lighter, a lot more powerful and purpose built by Lotus to be a no compromise trackday monster. So a lot of us may be in love with 80's and 90's cars, but they're really no match for their modern equivalents.
-
This is what I'll be "competing" against on Saturday - a 450bhp Exige with serious aero and a really good driver behind the wheel. Frankly speaking, it's going to be a humiliation but I'm looking forward to seeing by how big a margin he wins overall.

Ok, I take your point - yes, a 74.5HA is unique. And being a test model, it's highly likely that the Ozonys was drawn up after the release of the Arcade. So that's one thing, a fairly major one but just one. The BB rise looks completely different so at the end of the day, these two bikes will ride differently. And since the bike is the sum of it's geometry, not each measurement separately, I stand by my initial statement. Perhaps Ozonys's lower BB rise is an improvement over the Arcade? I'm sure there are riders out there who will find the Ozonys better in some respects, and the Arcade in others. On that basis, Ozonys have improved on the design from the point of view of those riders, who prefer a more streety bike. But because Inspired is British, this is a British forum and Ozonys is French, some people will look far too deep into this matter. There's one more way of looking at this. There's always going to be a company which does something first and therefore there's always going to be a company which does it second. This is the one which will get a bashing - however they came up with the idea, they are second and therefore basing their findings on something that already exists. Note that this has happened to absolutely every single measurement of a bike. There was a first 55mm BB rise frame, a first 1085mm wheelbase frame, a first 372mm CS stock frame.

If I am then tell me what it is I find this subject rather interesting. There's no doubt competitors keep a close eye on Inspired since it's the market leader but that's common practice with businesses everywhere. Perhaps a mod can split the thread so we can continue this discussion without hijacking the thread?

Well, the Ozonys Styl is steel and that was released about 9 months ago if I'm not mistaken. The Leesons were steel too, is the Arcade a Leeson rip off then? My point is that you can't say something is a rip off with such a generic design unless there are unique solutions implemented throughout the frame. Rip offs we know of - Coustellier > Zoo Piranha, Koxx XTP > Czar Ivan. This is far from a rip off, it's just a double triangle frame made from a material commonly used in bikes.
-
How is this a rip off though? There's nothing unique or special about Inspired bikes so I'd consider any arguments about companies copying them pretty weak. Inspired came up with the street-trials geometry and general concept of a street-trials bike and that's about it - just like Montessa did years ago with trials bikes, but you don't hear people complaining that every single trials frame on the market is a Montessa rip off.
-
Blown away. Ozonys is definitely on a roll.
-
Don't think anyone is going to take the piss, why would they?

Ditto. Amazing how quickly one can see progress, makes you want to put even more effort in.

Decided the engine in the 728 is too small so giving it a miss. Slightly unhappy but at least I won't spend the next 5 years complaining my daily driver is slower than a combine harvester.

I know that for some people like Jardo buying cars is a no brainer but I'm likely to drive whatever I get next for another 4-5 years. I've covered over 100k miles in my current E38. Not so long ago I was considering getting a 5.4 V12 E38 after I use up the current one and this is a measly 6 cylinder 2.8. I know they're very good engines and not too slow, but the 4.0 V8 in my current car seems a bit sluggish at times, so not convinced the 2.8 will suit me. The only benefit of this engine is that it's pretty bombproof, as is the gearbox. Really difficult choice. I might go and look at this car tomorrow, it's 4 hours away.

f**king hell, I haven't wanted a car this bad for years. It's quite possibly the rarest color combo for this car, my personal favourite BMW colour and the same as my M3 which would look super cool when towed on a trailer by this thing. http://allegro.pl/unikat-728i-imola-red-m-pakiet-shadow-line-i4035193519.html Completely blown away. edit: Buying it if it's still for sale on Monday. As of now it's available.

Dual disc Echo 24" 2014 - build thread UPDATES PAGE 2
Greetings replied to wilf's topic in Bike Pictures
I think a frame could help keep all those parts together? -
Where can I buy 24" rear rims, 32h, with VERTICAL sidewalls?
Greetings replied to stirlingpowers's topic in Trials Chat
Bonz rims have angled sidewalls. Superlight 24" rim with parallel sidewalls = Neon single wall. That said, they're not terribly strong. -
More exhaust tuning https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieJUP9O9RG8

Oh my god I need that on the M3. Hope I won't forget by the time I get it back.

I've got these on an Echo Control frame and the brake is pretty stiff. The beauty of the TNN booster is you can just run an additional booster on top. Have you tried bleeding the brake? Very often flex comes from the frame, but if your brake has air trapped in it, you'll get the impression that the frame is flexing (which it always does to an extent) when actually most of the sponginess comes from the air. Actually there was a time when Monty frames could have a v-brake booster installed on the underside of the seat stays. Pretty random bit of info, but a really neat idea. Used to run 3 brake booster in total on my old X-Lite.

I don't think it's going to happen. But if someone posts a pic of his missus, we can get the old thread restarted and all this excitement won't go to waste.
-
Look what you've done, now my last post makes absolutely no sense at all.
-
Agreed, he should post at least 1 pic!
