Ditto. I know little about this sport but that track doesn't look too hard, probably like an extremely basic moto trials section. You would expect competitors, especially in the finals, to have some basic skills from all disciplines. I understand that girls are small and these bikes must be really heavy but if you look closely there's a complete lack of balance and bike control going on too.

Here's more: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lCKeDl0l9c Hahaha just finished watching that. It gets better with every minute.

This just came up for sale over here: http://www.gieldaklasykow.pl/toyota-corolla-ae86-1986-40000-pln/ I was just thinking how epic this would be with an F20C engine from the S2000. Would probably outperform everything else on the street and track and offer a pure driving experience better than anything out there. Light, mechanical and in my opinion incredibly pretty. I do prefer the Trueno though. f**k me if I had the money I'd buy that thing in a heartbeat.

Sony DSC-HX20V. Can't imagine you could want more in terms of video quality or in fact anything. 4K is nice but impractical. You'll struggle to edit it, you'll struggle to display it and so will everyone else.

New Bonz freewheels seem to have strong springs - strong even by Echo standards.

Will keep that in mind if I decide to throw that phone out the window.

Implemented a project I've been working on for 11 months. Feels good to get it off my chest, slightly worried whether things will work correctly though. Going to get higher than Mt. Everest in a moment. Also decided to change my old HTC Desisire Z for a Galaxy S3. Not quite sure about this, the Desire has a fantastic keyboard, I've had it for 3 years and hardly use the touchscreen. Worried about the S3 only having a software keyboard... Unfortunately the HTC is getting so slow with this Facebook Messenger crap it's becoming unusable.

I can see they're using the P1 to keep audiences glued to the telly each Sunday for another few weeks Stunning car, incredibly good looking too. edit: Clarkson's comments are starting to get boring. Discrediting a car for aquaplaning is about as silly as it can get. I used to find it annoying that half of the show was staged but got over it and still valued the show for the usually sensible and exciting car tests - a rare combination. Now it seems everything in these tests is blown out of proportion. I watched the moment that bimmer broke loose a few times and he didn't even react. So either he can't drive fast for shit, he's just fishing for arguments to prove a point no matter how ridiculous they get or it was staged with him deliberately driving into a lot of standing water. If he has any driving skills at all (and he should have judging by his job) his automatic reaction would be to countersteer and not sit motionless in a spinning car looking at the camera. Also, the M135i is not a replacement for the 1M. It's like saying the M550d is a replacement for the M5.

Can't afford to continue doing a very expensive sport, so going to take up trials which is dirty cheap

Due to possible financial difficulties this year, I've decided to work on getting back into shape so I can ride trials. Rallysprint is probably going to be a no-go, so need to ditch that for the time being. My mate has sent me a tailor made training schedule which I've been doing for the last few days and I already feel so much better. The brilliant thing is he's a world cup trials rider and a personal trainer so he knows exactly what I should work on. He'll be sending me a new schedule every two weeks which should keep my motivation going. Really looking forward to getting back on the bike in 2 months.

Echo TR's and SL's are really strong. I once got the SL lever blade caught between some rails as I fell off the bike and the lever blade bent ever so slightly while supporting my whole body weight. I was expecting to find the handlebars bent or broken and didn't even consider finding the lever still in one piece. Good stuff.

Good point Would be surprised if you didn't manage to get it spot on It's high time you opened up Tartycars with someone who can later leave the company to create a new discipline of motorsport and design a car specifically for it. I know it sounds like a ridiculous idea, but it might just work.

Minis look soooo much nicer than 126p's. I don't even know why I'm comparing the two

Quite possibly the most bizarre car ever? Worth a read, the engine stats and performance are mind blowing. http://www.rmauctions.com/lots/lot.cfm?lot_id=1064284

If you want proper car videos, just subscribe to Drive on Youtube. Quite enjoyed the episode, didn't like the lack of a power test and found the police chase boring towards the end.

Surely the whole point of a project car is to have fun and improve it as much as possible You'll get it back into mint condition, look back at those pics and feel a lot better about yourselves than if you started off with a fairly good chassis. My mate does this for fun - he buys old NSU's, Skodas and Bimmers which are so rotted they don't look like cars anymore and then turns them back into showroom condition. His recently finished BMW 2002 used to look like Fred Flinstone owned it - there was no floor at all.

Well it's Japanese, what would you expect On a more serious note though, part of the stage takes part on fields so it's really rough. Anyway. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBtoAoAz3vg Lacking power but still a lot of fun.

Definitely the highlight of today: What's really surprising is that we were quicker in the 740 than a few stripped out E30's. Had an epic time, the fact that both the Daihatsu and the Bimmer are still in one piece I find absolutely mind blowing. The Daihatsu took such a thrashing today that it should be in more pieces than there are parts in it.

Tomorrow is shaping up to be an epic day. Going off to an airfield known as Rallyland in the tiny 4x4 Daihatsu but will be pulling it on a trailer with the big Bimmer. There's lots of snow and ice there and usually there's so much driving you get sick of it half way through. Plan is to play around in the Daihatsu until it breaks down or I get bored, then get into the 740 and just drift until the day is over. Happy times

Surely you should know that a D521 was considered a fantastic trials rim 10+ years ago I love this thread, sure takes me back.

I was taking the piss with that diver
-
I find it difficult to overlook the fact that it's all staged and there's probably a diver in that tent to satisfy health and safety demands. Guess that's what Top Gear has become, got to live with it, change one's expectations and still enjoy the show.

Been on a random video rampage for the last half an hour, found this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqziQX7eEv0 Can someone explain whether it's possible for this guy to actually perform these tricks consecutively or are some of them just a matter of trial and error? (they get pretty insane towards the end)

I absolutely hate when companies make their product last only a few years and make it soooo obvious. A few years ago I bought a Braun irrigator but stopped using it for a while. Now I got it working again and it's leaking. The weak spot is clearly the hose which starts to crack. I've shortened it about 10 times and it keeps cracking. So clearly the materials they used are useless. The hose can easily be replaced, it just clips in. So I go onto google to find that Braun offers spare parts for their irrigators. Yay! Only the spare parts they offer are a cover for the tank, the tank and a casing for the jets. How f**king stupid are those spare parts? Why would anyone need a cover or carrier?! And where's the f**king hose? SERIOUSLY? They forgot about the hose!? I very much doubt they did, bet you it's meant to encourage people to buy another irrigator. As my bearded dragon is my witness, I'll keep this piece of crap going until the hose is so short I'll have to hook the pump directly to the jet. f**k you Braun. /rant

When my aunt died (she was living with us) my dad asked me to pay my respects to her. I didn't want to go and I remember not liking what I saw. It didn't scar me or anything but I would not do it again, especially if it was someone young. Seeing my aunt in bed for the last few months of her life made me more accustomed to the sight the day she died. Your call, I'd highly disagree with Tom about the "if you don't you'll always regret it". The way I see it, you might regret not going to the funeral, but seeing a dead body... well, I'm not sure what there is to regret there.
