  1. My stock is sub 8 but I wouldn't say that having the lightest bike possible benefits your riding greatly. You might be able to ride for longer especially on natural terrain but don't expect to sidehop higher. You might briefly but when you get used to the new weight, you'll be back to square one. I ride a light bike purely because I can in the sense that I'm smooth and fairly light.
  2. 3 words: Subaru Impreza GC. The 2.0 N/A is absolutely bombproof and cheap to run. One of my sprint buddies bought a 1.8 2 years ago for 800 quid or something, he's been beating the hell out of it both on the track, off road and daily and it's still in great mechanical shape. It's completely stock and stupidly slow. I'm getting one this winter to have fun and enjoy having snow for once.
  3. My car is in running condition. I could go out and use it but it's not what you'd call ready Here's the absolutely epic but maybe strangely looking gear lever. The travel is just right and on Millers nano oil the changes are incredibly smooth and have exactly the right amount of feedback. It also leaves a lot of room to position the hydraulic hand brake which should be welded on tomorrow.
  4. Mike made contact today and apologized. Hope this will get sorted out now. Thanks for all your help!
  5. Out of interest, would you benefit from / have you considered converting it to 4wd? I can imagine such power in an FWD car can be a bit of a handful? Watched the video just now, missed it last time. Quite a tricky course, wouldn't have been my cup of tea. However it seems you have the car under full control, nice work with the wheel.
  6. Really like that Audi Prawn, it looks the business. It shows that the concept has evolved over time which I think is a big point in favour of any sports car.
  7. Still nothing. Is there anywhere in the UK I can report something like this? Is there a BBB in the UK?
  8. I've never understood that scene, surely doing that to your car makes it completely undriveable? Which kind of defies the point of it being a car? Even if you want it to look good, and think that looks good then surely you'll have to take it out of the garage eventually, and rather than push it you'll get in and experience the horror.
  9. Got to support a fellow E36. What are you doing with it? Can't quite figure out if it's a repaint or not On a separate note, had a strange problem with the E38 today which occurred last time rather surprisingly exactly 1 year ago. To put it short, the V8 turns into an inline 4 pot. Did a fair amount of diagnostics to see what was causing it (disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes fixes it) but came up with nothing. All I know is that there are sparks in both banks but disconnecting 4 coils in the right bank doesn't affect how the engine performs. It's fine now but I was hoping to pinpoint the problem, not just assume the ECU went haywire.
  10. Saw this and thought of Jardo, the place where I'm building my car is full of them. Not sure what it is apart from that it's a completely stock Clio which arrives from the dealer with a sequential transmission, roll cage and all the other extras fitted? Also bumped into another car on the road today, just a scratch on the bumper. All I can say is that I'd absolutely wreck that bird, hot as f**k although she was slightly shoutey at the beginning.
  11. ^^ Was never a big fan of increasing the boost on any stock engine, it's always going to lead to trouble. Perhaps your head gasket failure was caused by something else but the increased boost would definitely have been a contributing factor.
  12. Sorry to be spamming this thread with pics of a disassembled M3 but it's my life this week.
  13. Greetings

    Phatmike?

Not sure this qualifies for a dispute so I'd rather ask here. Anyone been in contact with him recently? I bought some parts from him, paid the money in and he went silent shortly after that. Was supposed to send the parts off over 2 weeks ago by DHL but hasn't done it, doesn't reply to comms either. Not sure what to make of this to be honest.
  14. I love one of my rallysprint buddies, he's the most destructive man ever. What goes on in his car life is pure comedy. This is him in his element: Last week he came back from a hillclimb event with his M3 stuck in a rather strange position on a trailer. It turned out he tore the whole rear suspension off the car because he cut a corner too hard. He couldn't find one of his rear springs, it later turned out to be stuck in the fuel tank. This is fairly normal for him, a few months ago he tore one of his front wheels off with the wing and pretty much everything that the wheel was attached to. This too happened because he cut a corner. Very fast driver and has absolutely no consideration for his car. So, before the weekend he arrived completely unfazed in his daily driver to take a look at the progress on his car: He was seen by my mate later that day driving like that past his workshop. My mate then called to tell him that about the flats but was told it's all ok because he's in a big hurry and needs to change the tyres anyway. Yesterday I got a call from the destructive man asking if I have a water pump because he "accidentally" pushed the radiator into the fan which broke the pump spindle (we presume he cut a corner and hit some tyres). He continued to say that he doesn't want a fan any more because it's too destructive for the radiator which also packed up. I think he's missing the point to be honest. Anyway, I absolutely love this guy. He's in his mid 40's which makes it all the more ridiculous when you listen to his wild theories.
  15. Looks like it doesn't it? Seriously, that explosion of rage was the best thing that happened to me in the last few months. Not only are they making incredible progress with the car (and doing it properly) but my health has improved, I no longer feel tired every day all day, I sleep properly... amazing.
  16. EPIC. edit: oh and a morning arrival, R1R tyres for the front wheels. Heard some good things about them, also like the idea of 6.5mm thread rather than 5.5mm one gets with RS-R's.
  17. I'm surprised it's that bad? Cinnamon is quite nice actually. Not meaning to hijack the thread but I'd gladly see someone on here try the tequila suicide:
  18. Yeah they would have been anodized. I've come across quite a few different black Echo parts from brake levers through clamps and cranks that have gone bronze or even gold over time. There's nothing you can do about it apart from maybe painting them again? Although that will rub off and you'll end up with dirty shoes.
  19. There's nothing wrong with a Clio or ITR.
  20. Did you understand his previous obsession?
  21. I once covered my car with foam like above and it removed most of the touch up paint that was on it. That, or it became so clean that a lot of scratches and chips became visible.
  22. Good to know, might want a set if I ever end up with another daily driver I want to lower. Which model are they? The row I had regarding the M3 has really got things going. Their motivation to work has lasted through the weekend as well. Today I was pleasantly surprised by an almost installed engine and big progress with the interior. Sorry for the city pics.
  23. Yeah, they're doing live shows instead. How gay.
  24. Does anyone on here know something about the W211 E-Class Benz? What's it like in terms of reliability? I've heard horror stories about MB's quality dropping significantly at the beginning of this decade? I've been thinking for the last few months about replacing my E38 with something newer next year, prefarably smaller and more brutal. Considering a 535d, 335i convertible (could be slightly out of my price range) and an E55 which I cannot find any solid info about apart from that the fuel consumption is remarkably good?
