So you're essentially recommending this type of bike: Must say it's the most appealing. So it's essentially a recreational, more comfortable type of road bike?

Both the Because and the Echo ride really nicely. Although I did measure my friends Color 20" and that came out with a 75mm BB rise on Urban forks. Personally I preferred that bike to the Echo Lite due to the slightly lower BB. Not sure why the measurements on Tarty are different, perhaps Because revised their frames yet again.

As above. Still a long way to go before I can consider myself fat but something is definitely going on down there and I don't like it one bit. Looking for a bike with a seat to just burn some fat / stay in shape and work on stamina. But have a good time in the process. Haven't sat on a bicycle seat since 2006 so I'm completely out of date with these things. As far as I can tell, there are a few options: - Road bike - Something like this (can't quite figure out what it's for exactly) - 26" mountain bike with suspension fork - 29" mountain bike with suspension fork I'm not really interested in cross country but wouldn't like to block that avenue off by buying the wrong bike. I also f**king love wheelies, used to do them until my arms would go numb back in the days. But mainly I just want to ride around on tarmac fairly quickly with some nice music and have fun. Any recommendations as for the type of bike or wheel size? If anyone wants to go into more detail I must add that I'd only be considering Merida since I have access to these bikes at a discount and can put them on expenses. Cheers!

It's definitely not a coincidence. My guess is that they're trying to make a product which will last long enough to make the riders happy but not so long that it puts the company out of business. It can be a danger that, didn't an AK-47 manufacturer shut down recently because the firearm was just too reliable?

That's the nicest shit I've seen in weeks.

More riding on pallets, really need to build some interesting obstacles because just stacking these is getting a bit boring.

Videos with babies never do it for me but this is one hell of a dynamic conflict: http://www.wimp.com/pacifierwar/

It's just that your new model probably hasn't had the opportunity to fail yet. As someone who sells these brakes I've found the new model to be much more unreliable in terms of leakages. It's not common for it to leak but it happens a lot more frequently than with the previous brakes. In terms of performance performance, I really like my '11 HS11. Then again I really like my other Maggie which is an 05' style 4 finger HS33. Personally can't say a bad thing about these brakes yet apart from the HS11 being a pig to bleed even with the service manual as help.

Surely that doesn't always work? With some frames it's even a problem to have the piston fully out because the brake pads rest against the frame.
-
The other way round. They were conceived at a time when many riders still used XC or DH rims like D521's on already modern-ish trials frames which had widely spaced 4bolt mounts.

Can't get this out of my head. Damn you Keith Apicary

Well because now if you want to change a frame, you have to change your hub too. And the spokes, and have a new wheel built. Slightly more complicated than just changing a frame. I can't see riders who own a Hope or King or any other high end hub they get along with being happy about having replace it for something inferior. They'll probably just buy a different frame. But if you need to change your hub anyway then 116mm spacing may have some minor advantages. Can't say that in the last 6 years I've ridden a stock bike I've ever had nocturnal emissions about going over to 116mm spacing. Riding cannot make up for that.
-
It's true then, there's a direct correlation between the two I'm left foot forward too.
-
Wouldn't quite agree with the above. There are very few 135mm hubs out there which actually make use of their extra width. Echo TR hubs for instance use the same shell for 135 and 116mm spacing. The reason Echo made frames in 116mm spacing is almost certainly because Koxx did it and Echo thought it would be a smart idea to follow suit. It's not a smart idea, it's retarded and they're already aware of their mistake. As for frames, they both have the same geometry. It's really a matter of whether you like gray or silver more. And if it's the former, you need to ask yourself whether you're a smooth rider or do you bash your bike as much as you do punctuation and spelling in the face.

Really chuffed. After 6 months of not being able to ride something has finally unlocked in me. 2 weeks ago I was struggling to get up 6 pallets, 8 today!

Those graphics should EASILY come off with nitro thinner.

She lives on her own, pretty much perfect... perhaps her parents are cats, I'll ask. Will be a bit random though. Yes. Changes subject, avoids answering, clearly doesn't want to talk about it. Not my cup of tea, do you like anal? -

Hah Got another problem with this girl, we've been going out for about a month now and she's still pretty stubborn about me not coming over to her place or vice versa. What's up with that? She a virgin and afraid of something? It's ridiculous how we go out somewhere, then I drive her home and we spend an hour talking in the car. Or yesterday before I collected her she asked me if I want desert and brought it to the car It's putting me right off. I've spent so much time in that car during the last month that I don't want to get into it anymore. Besides, if we're pursuing some sort of a relationship it's not going to be brilliant when we've known each other for such a short time and I'm already having to invite other girls over to my place to enjoy a nice evening because she doesn't want to come. -
Perhaps this should be turned into a German trials video thread. Some properly good stuff in here.
-
Nah, not really. It'd have been funny if you were though.

Echo have mostly resolved the leak issues with rim brakes so I'd say it's safer to buy one now than ever before. Most of those brakes which manage to fail do so because of debris getting into the master cylidner and scratching the walls. That's something you can easily avoid by pulling a finger from a rubber glove over the cylinder before you ride it.
-
As if Trials Forum had anything to do with owning a trials bike.
-
I used normal grease, is a spray like WD40 good enough? Also would you say that the majority of the friction caused by lack of lubrication is from the thread or the nipple resting against the rim? Lubricating the contact surface of the rim and nipple is a messy job, would prefer to avoid it if it doesn't make too much of a difference.
-
A few days ago I took the trouble of lubing the threads and nipples and it made for a completely different experience. Much higher tensions possible, no need to stress the wheel all the time as is often the case with butted spokes. If you can be arsed it's really worth it although does take quite a lot longer to do the lacing. I think Sheldon's guide mentions lubing too.

Visible spectrum perhaps?
