  1. That makes me feel so dumb. The amount of knowledge and thought that has gone into that is just mad.
  2. I'd like to experience the process of joining the mile high club illegally. And also sex in zero gravity.
  3. I could be wrong but with 8/138gb free, your disk could be getting heavily fragmented. Basically there's not enough space to save files in one piece so the big ones are being scattered around the whole drive meaning it takes ages to read them. Try running disk cleanup first, remove temporary files etc. Try to get rid of as many programs you don't use as possible. After you do that, it'd be a good idea to defragment the hard drive. I use AusLogics Disk Defrag, it's free and it's quick. +what the others said.
  4. Why don't you calm down. Nice bike, very decent weight for such a spec.
  5. So where's the pic of the prototype?
  6. I'm guessing no. 80mm - 47mm = 33mm. That's around 17mm per side, just a bit more than the thickness of the brake pads alone. This is a wild guess but with such spacing you'd probably need to look at 35mm rims or something similar.
  7. Wild guess here but from my very limited experience of brake pads, the Inspired (Spanish fly?) compound seems rather good on smooth rims.
  8. You're missing the most important bit, most of us probably have 16:10 screens. So the footage should fit that, not a tree, glass or lamp post which is taller rather than wider.
  9. Sod that, I want a Barclays handlebar.
  10. I still maintain that Dann, JD, Muel and Revolver are just personas of some TF user. You know winter is coming when these personas start to interact between each other.
  11. They've been put back into production so any Echo dealer should have them back in stock soon, along with the 20" equivalent.
  12. Ok does anyone understand the principle behind the brake force one brake booster? I can't see how that tiny and rather cheap looking brake can be the answer to all your braking needs.
  13. Wasn't there a limited version of Plazmatic pads a few years ago which was different in some way (colour)? I remember there being a big thread about them on here, you could only win them or something?
  14. Only problem I can see with this is that 3 weeks in, you're all going to look like child mollesters. Therefore, each one of you will be obliged to purchase a shabby van and lure children into it with lots of candy. I'm just saying, getting a moustache is risky business.
  15. So if I got this right, none of you are going to shave for a whole month? I'll happily donate do see the results.
  16. And yet he attempted this. That's dedication.
  17. Geometry wise I'd probably go for the Because short, it hasn't got the stupidly high BB all modern frames seem to have.

    26 Or 24

That's the only thing stopping me from changing over too. I loose a significant amount of height and distance on a mod. Can't see why it'd be the other way round with a 24". In all fairness I think that on rocks a 24" being slightly shorter and more flicky could be the better ride. For TGS, not necessarily.

    26 Or 24

With the right stem and bars they're f**king brilliant. I ride a 26" and am tempted by a 24" but there's something stopping me. After all what's wrong with a 26.
  20. Cringed at the end. Very nice riding style, is that a 24?
  21. Are the pads hitting square on the disc? Take a close look at the rotor while you're pressing the brake lever, if it twists in any direction then the caliper is out of alignment. I once came across a faulty batch of pads (or maybe they were just contaminated in the factory). The brake was dead quiet but had absolutely no hold at all. Pad change solved that problem right away. Note that new pads also need to bed in, it's not just the disc.
  22. By SL you mean the Ti model? Echo freewheels usually rattle, it's the ball bearings. Like someone already mentioned it appears as if 1 ball is missing from each race because there's a fairly big gap. A possible reason for no rattle is that the freewheel has been assembled to a tighter tolerance (meaning less spacers). From my experience many Echo freewheels had sideways play. This would obviously cause looser bearings which rattle more easily.
