  1. plus disc brakes are only really meant to work one way and aren't ever made with the intention of stopping a wheel spinning backwards... the TRA comment is a bit unfair cause that man can make anything work out alright for trials.
  2. the front freewheel, while unique to trials shouldn't be an issue for any cycle mechanic with a reasonable IQ, mods are basicly BMXs with no saddle, and different bar and stem and rear wheel size... theres nothing really special on a trials bike, it's not like a high caliber full suspension bike, it's just a very minimalist rigid bike at the end of the day. if i were you, i'd send a picture to tartybikes, and explain your situation and just ask for their opinion, your not a customer (yet ) but they'll help you out cause your a rider, from where i'm sitting as a part time cycle mechanic and bike geek, you do have a problem that they should have sorted before shipping and you would have been unlikely to have noticed without proper guidance from a forum etc. can't say alot more until you go to your lbs
  3. misses riding like a f**ker

  4. you want a cat, a set of graders and then you give it the lioncut. edit: more lion cuts:
  5. how much of her attention do you receive? actually just f**king ask her, saves fannying about wondering, and then if your right you can get to smashing that ass sooner, and if not, you can find a new one quicker... win win
  6. it won't hurt to take the whole bike, personally i'd have taken the bike to them when it arrived if i was in your position since your unfamiliar with the bikes. and learnt as things went wrong. just to be sure, in the crank photo, can you see any of the taper interface when you remove the bolt? cause you should only see the BB axle, threads for a crank puller and a tiny amount of the spline on the crank where it's meeting the bb at the tip, if you can see more than 1mm of it you've definatley got a problem...
  7. bitch, now your purple street machine will clash with my street machine looks well smart though, see you next year.. x
  8. get a lower stem then it'll be banging
  9. it'll be a simple case of trying to fit your existing cranks on any ISIS bb they have, if they fit fine, your BB is wrong, if they don't you have dodgy cranks
  10. you don't want a streetier stem for your ashton do you? i have a 70x25 hope stem i'm not using, turns any 24" into a fun machine.
  11. i like the graphics...
  12. usually isis cranks will press on most of the way and require nipping up with the bolt is it proper difficult to tighten them past a certain point? you may have an issue with the BB or arms, it's hard to say without seeing them myself, or having any other parts to try out with your set up, any chance a local bike shop could have a look for you?
  13. you need a 200mm rotor for rear disc on a 26" to be powerful enough, which makes your back end heavy, plus you get spoke flex, and the wheel will still slip the disc (or mine did on a bad tap etc), get a grind and better pads, cheaper than a new disc brake, frame and hub...
  14. it looks like the cranks could go further onto the bb axle this would give you a better chain line... no offense but your grammar is a little crazy, is english not a first language? cause it feels like a challenge to read your posts sometimes
  15. lubricate the crank/bb interface, use penetrating oil/wd40 etc and be very generous. also, hit it harder.
  16. new james bond looks delicious
  17. rear disc on a 26" isn't that great, you aren't missing out on anything special, it's great on a mod, but you need a 200mm rotor for the right kinda stopping power, and it's shit having all that extra weight at the back of the bike, and the bigger wheel emphasizes the flex
  18. how did you acquire the breath? did you raw the cranks/bash yourself? it looks smart! i like it.
  19. eno is the exception to the disposable rule, i'd consider every other freewheel out there as disposable, eno will last for ever..
  20. i was using 16-12 on my 24" with no difficulties, but i was a bit of a beast at the time i'd imagine 16-13 would be good for tgs with a 26" wheel..
  21. freewheels are disposable, they will occasionally suprise you and just die, you only need a new pawl and possibly a spring, and that badboy needs a service, also you can run it with one less pawl...
  22. can we turn this into the general olympics discussion thread now? if so, what the f**k is dressage all about and why is it recognised as an olympic sport? in my current state of immobile i've got time to watch this stuff prety religiously and i'm trying to watch at least one round of each event... all good so far, but making a horse walk around in a squared of section is not an athletic feat, it's 'who's got the best horse' and it seemed like a waste of an event, they coulda got some rocks and skinny Europeans in lycra to trials it up in less space and with more awesomeness...
  23. the headtube on that bike makes me sad. fortunately they ride pretty damn well...
  24. big vote for 5-10s although i find the wear life quite disappointing, i have split one in 5 months before
