your lever should be tight enough to stay in place, but be able to rotate in case you bin the bike, you should be able to spin the lever with your hand with a fair amount of effort. maybe the cranks are just odd, but usually on an isis BB you can't see any of the taper itself an 55s in your clip i cann see the spines, to check pop the crank bolt out and see if the crank is fully seated on the axle. lever feel is a wierd personal thing, i like the levers to come in close to the bar, others like them miles out, if you wanna reduce the travel on the lever but still have it close to the bar (my personal fave) there is a grub nut that will push the lever blade closer in.

i hop eyou tightened the crank bolts before riding it! you should never be able to see that much bb showing, thats a very smart looking rig though! enjoy.

Switching My Mod Bike For A Stock (Good Choice Or Not)?
ogre replied to ClarkeHutchison's topic in Trials Chat
don't get rid of one bike to then spend weeks building up another bike, you're riding will suffer if you're off a bike... go for a straight trade if you can... -
how nooby an explanation do you need? high ep freewheel is something like the echo/rockman/trialtech 108 freewheels. the number signifies the number of engagement points or 'clicks' you hear when you rotate the freewheel's teeth 360, the more engagements the more frequent they are and as a result the bike feels more responsive as your power will go straight through instead of that bob where nothing happens with cheaper freewheels. it's easier to feel the difference than talk about it.

it f**king is. f**k with the foam inside and you might as well not be wearing a helmet... have a play with different thickness inserts and try other helmets on to see if your head is a wierd shape. don't go cutting the foam inside it though cause it won't work the same... if you do fall off and if fails to deliver the head protection you need you'd be f**ked (literaly and legally...)

the onza frame is really good, my friend loved his, and he abused it for 2 years, it's got many cracks but it's still holding together. i have a t-bird wheel i'd do for a £5er and postage if you'd like... work out a reduction for the forks being cracked if you can.. and go for it, presuming it has a high EP freewheel it's worth buying.

i await the ZOO! 24" that i dream about

the geo is good the weight is fair considering the steel forks and dual disc brakes... i can't remember but i don't think it has isis cranks (an issue in my eyes) also steel bars and forks, changing thos will bring it into the 10kg realm, so will losing the rear disc for a magura... spec because your to shit to even google something: - Excellent value 20" wheel trials bike from Onza, ideal for beginner or fast learning riders. - High grade 7005-T6 aluminium frame with rear disc mount, integrated chain tensioners and head tube reinforcing gussets. - Tough Onza cromoly forks with disc brake mount. - Powerful Onza cable disc brakes front and rear, a massive breakthrough at this price point, ensuring predictable and reliable braking in all conditions. - Onza single wall front rim and double wall rear rim, drilled to reduce weight, 20" front and 19" rear. - Maxxis Creepy Crawler tyres, 20 x 2.0" front and 19 x 2.5" rear. - T-Pro crankset fitted with light weight bashring and 18T Tensile freewheel with 60 engagement points for maximum pedalling response. - Bash/ski-plate fitted as standard. - Onza cromo riser 31.8mm trials handlebar. - Onza alloy 31.8mm stem to reduce weight. - New Onza caged pedals. - 12T screw on sprocket on the rear hub, running 18-12 gear ratio. - Seatless design to reduce weight and increase stand over clearance. - Gloss sky blue frame and forks, both with white Onza logos. - Weight: Approx 11kg including pedals. Geometry (to be confirmed)

Switching My Mod Bike For A Stock (Good Choice Or Not)?

or just straight out trade it for the right thing? -
i'd be happy with a dual vee tgs 24" onza, perhaps with alloy forks and a subsequent price hike to the £600 mark, even if it was a simple frame with no fancy cnc'd stuff and a spec that otherwise matched the zoot's. as to me the only significant fault with the zoot was the hefty forks, but they were understandable with the price tag. a set of branded vee pads and some tensioners that werent shite was all the bike really needed to ride well, more alu bits are always nice, but so long as you get isis drivetrain, a sealed hub on the rear, oversized bar/stem and a freewheel thats not pants, it's hard to fault, and we trialsy folk love upgrades and part changes, so it's all good in the sense that you don't need to buy multiple products the bring the whole bike up to speed when something fails... who didn't rage inside when their square tapered wierd bar sized onza had a problem and the logical upgrade route involved numerous purchases instead of one...

Switching My Mod Bike For A Stock (Good Choice Or Not)?

although you've spun off to considering a tgs 24" i moved to a 26" from a 20" and it helped me, the bigger wheels are way more forgiving and confidence inspiring, that said i ended up moving back to a 20" (4 years later) and i've got a streety 24" too... i'm tempted with the idea of building up a nice light 26" when i can ride again... -
my vote is for steerer tube boobies

thanks introducing me to mitis, love chilled shit like that, in big controversy about riding with others, i did 9 months of riding on my own, or the majority of time was on my own, and i progressed like a f**ker, that said i had the basics dialled and i was pretty driven... but at the start riding with a small group will make you a champ in no time, and making sure your bike is good, don't kid youself that noobs don't need anything special to ride with, high EP freewheels and savage brakes make better riders.

broke my leg, now out of my cast woowoo, i'm already able to "walk" on it without any crutches, but since i've been in a cast i'm prety limited on my range of motion, any suggestions for stretches to get the movement back?

just don't come up as a f**k up who they wouldn't want their daughter to be with, even i've been thoroughly approved by girls parents and shit, you know what i can be like having a job, working towards a degree, not having a drug problem, all good things that make you seem like less of a douchebag, wear some shoes that make you look taller so they don't have to worry about tiny grandchildren and you're laughing. suckit coxy i went there -
Having Trouble Removing Locked Rear Wheel Sprocket.
ogre replied to Ben Gosden's topic in Trials Chat
are you wrapping it in chain and then trying to twist it with the chain thats left over? best way is to wrap it in chain, and then have one piece of chain be out of line so it sticks out like a knuckle and then put it in a vice with the 'knuckle' sitting against the flat of the vice, and then turn it... -

out of my cast, just 8 ore weeks till i'm back to normal

not to burst your bubble but zoo pads were never that great...
-
get the ozonys for £50 more, it's a massively better buy... if you go second hand just make sure it's got isis cranks, avoid SL frames or forks cause they're only good new... echos and zoos are always a good safe bet...

i can't talk cause i'm not riding, but it's disapointing to see the word video in the thread title, and there be no video's in 2 pages of post, less spam more videos...

thats more effort than i like (i know you need to maintain stuff, i'm no being arrogant) but bb7s need none of that, my bb7 is 3+ years old i think and it's needed no fannying about. makes it better than a hope...

having a disc on a trials bike makes sense, as ace as pure on'off braking is, modulation is important, and it's fun. also a 200mm rotor making a disc brake good, is like tar making a hs33 pad good... that much leverage will ensure performance from a bad brake... if a disc brake works with a 160 or even 140 on a 26" wheel, then it's a genuine winner... my vote goes to the bb7 cause it's so cheap/powerful/adjutable and affordable... that said my tech x2 brake is awesome and even another rider who swears by bb7s admits that my hope is awesome, however it'll f**k up and turn shit like all hopes do... (in my experience)
