  1. pay day YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

  2. squatted 110kg tonight, not bad considering...

  3. copy of the pitbul geo, and similar design it should be pretty tough and ride well, it's a big feeling frame though, for pure trials welterweight mods are probably the best route
  4. it's possible to make a pull up spoke tensioner... i did it, only lasted a few rides before my chain snapped and ruined it...
  5. yay, i look forward to riding with y'all again soon
  6. been riding a little bit the last two nights, broken leg hasn't stopped me! bit shit now though :(

Better to be back on it than not at all though!

Glad to hear your back on it :)

  7. depends how you ride, and what your comparing them to

    Cheeky Mouse

if you have a mouse you have mice. we had 3 or 4 to our knowledge in our student house all the traps we used were shit except for the sticky pads; they have sweet smelling glue on them, its sticky as f**k and it'll take the hair off your hands but you can pull yourself off them, but mice don't got a chance against them bad boys, we set them out and had confirmed kills the following morning the trick is to find out their common routes and put the traps there, i only managed to catch one with out any traps and it was mad hard work..see the victory face: .
  9. for years i have agreed with that, my 24" is built up of 'smart' purchases that perform well and are unlikely to die (pro2, middleburns and generally well regarded nice stuff) it's nice to ride, it's nice to know it'll never die and i can abuse it, but my mod is alot lighter, and it feels delightful to use, it's not silly light, it's a practical weight but i enjoy it being lighter. i just wanna push it with 26" cause i have the frame spare, i feel like if it broke i'd be at no loss, why not strip the weight an enjoy it, plus i'm well past that basher stage that demands tough stuff... and just light components on a heavy frame aren't the same as light frame and light components... plus after nearly 7 years of trials i'm allowed to have what i want goddamnit! saving a few grams everywhere adds up, you need to ride a heavy trials rig, and then hop on a lighter one, the difference is night and day, even if they have the same frame/bar/stem
  10. werd, and having a bike that you couldn't outright replicate though tarty always makes it a bit more fun to me... in other news, anyone with ideas they'd like to see tried etc dump them in here i'll be open to giving anything a go..
  11. i think this is the sorta style you mean: this is comming out next year for $75.. looks well nice!
  12. thankyou for the constructive posts, i will keep this thread afloat and update as changes take place, i can't imagine the rigidity being affected to much cause the 06 is so burly anyway, the geo is sweet too, although i never know what bar/stem combo is best. i don't get why everyone can be so fast to disagree with what i want to do either, stupid tf
  13. pm me if it's stil for sale in october when i get paid, why does everyone dissuade me from lightening a frame, i'd feel no loss if i ruined it, it didn't cost me alot, i got a huge amount of use from it, now i wana have some fun with it shaving some weight off
  14. don't talk to me like i haven't ridden other lighter bikes before, i plan on fitting light parts to it and i'm plenty strong and powerful as far as riding in concerned, i just wanna see what i can do with the frame cause it won't sell for what it's worth i may as well have some fun with it and since i'm unable to ride for now it'll give me something trialsy to entertain myself with
  15. right so i've got a 2006 pitbul in my garage, i always tell myself i'll build it up some day but i only have to pick it up for a minute and i decide it's to heavy, so this year i plan to buy a dremel and give her a diet, where am i likely to make the most effective changes, i know the tubing on the 06 frames is pretty thick, could i reduce the thickness or am i just being mad?
  16. i'm really considering a genius as you get 120mm and 185mm of travel on the rear, i like the idea of flipping between a range of movement as my terrain changes etc,,
  17. i hope this is gona happen linky
  18. hey y'all, i've just been offered a new job that puts me in a position to treat myself to something with suspension, i think i want an all mountain machine, so i can do DH but still have some fun on an XC route and enjoy some versatility out of it, but i have no idea what my options are, or whats actually worth the money, so suggestions and thoughts please?
  19. someones selling up cause they got a shin dig? pfft try a broken leg and i aint leaving this game yet!

there are better reasons to quit than a shin dig, it just riled me cause i'm not allowed to ride a bike, this is the most popular tf status i've ever had haha amazing

Considering I can't walk it's slightly more than your average shin dig. I tore 2 muscles and 2 ligaments in my right knee 6 years ago and didn't quit. So leave it out.

  20. you f**king serious? all you do is loop out, which is when a helmet is most useful, holy f**k thats like one of the worst things i've read on here.
  21. a proper trials bike will help, if you fancy some light reading this thread has alot of useful stuff on getting into trials, with regards to a bike, there are some things you should aim to acquire cause there is a degree of advantage from having the right hardware from the start, i used to sing the praises of learning to appreciate the difference of better parts as you replace your shit ones, but i watched a new-to-trials rider with a brand new echo lite progress faster than i ever imagined possible... so good gear really makes a difference... when you look at buying a bike you want to make sure it has the following features: front freewheel isis cranks (because they're stiffer and more reliable) sealed bearings on as many parts as possible alloy forks (cheap bikes come with steel forks, they feel horible and make the bike less nimble) quality brakes, or be prepared to buy some high end pads ASAP trials frames are all pretty good, just avoid anything to light (rockmans and koxxes) as they're a bit delicate and your guna be giving it some abuse, likewise don't get anything to old or battered...
  22. cranks will get smacked about like f**k, don't bother with primer or much prep, just give them a thorough cleaning and spray them with reasonable quality paint; several light coats (your first coat shouldn't leave the cranks solid black, just dusted...) rinse and repeat, then touch up as appropriate..
