  1. If you haven't done it before, I wish you luck as they aren't easy to build if you don't know the basics.... but the below links might help Linky 1 Linky 2 Cheers Frooty
  2. I have one and I love it. I have had a couple of the frames, and never had a problem with them. The are a streety bike (but with right setup can work well on natural), shorter than a 'modern' trials frame but really easy to throw around. Frooty
  3. And thats no excuse to start a new thread either Fatty. Happy Burfday, oh to be 18 again.... Frooty
  4. Its all down to personal preference. Street looks bigger and better (and is more for showing off and going big), but natural requires another level of balance/accuracy and is much more technical. (more for those who ride for themelves rather than going big on't street) I have also found street is much more forgiving than natural. When I rode properly I preferred natural 90% of the time, but there were times when I just couldn't be bothered with rocks and wanted to ride a 90 degree, flat edge wall. Frooty
  5. Very good question, but I can see how he is going to get unvalidated. Frooty
  6. Theres some spots but nothing amazing, i'd much rather drive 15 minutes and go to Shipley Glen Frooty
  7. I live in Dudley Hill, just down road from you. Can't say I am aware of many other stock riders at top of Bradford (especially in Wyke area), but I not been out in some time so that doesn't mean much. Frooty

Haha I was thinking that exact same thing and then read your post. Frooty
  9. For me it has to/had to be Wayne, not becuase of his style (more as a rider/person overall), simply becuase when I used to ride he was the one who was always pushing me, telling me where I was going wrong and helping improve my riding in every aspect. For style of riding, I couldnt comment on the recent riders that have come onto the scene as I not been directly involved with it for years, but I have always loved Ali C's style of riding, but not seen it recently so it could have all gone to pot for all I know. 10. Its not a mistake, its just not bothering to read whats in front of you. Really wish new members would learn to read. Can't we send them an Email confirmation when they sign up with 'NO SELLING OR BUYING UNTIL YOU ARE VALIDATED' in huge big writing on the Email! Frooty
  11. I don't agree with that, i'm right footed and ride with left foot forward and know a lot of people who do. I think its more due to whatever people start using and feel more comfortable with. One 'tip' I was told, was if you sidehop to left, have right foot forward and vice versa, its so that your trailing foot/pedal doesn't hit the object you're hopping onto. I think its just down to whatever you feel comfortable with Frooty
  12. When they stop you I beleive they have to tell you why they are stopping you. If they don't have any grounds for a search then you can refuse it. (but they almost always come up with a reason so not much chance of you stopping them) As others have said they HAVE to give you a stop and search form which outlines when, where and by whom you were stopped/searched. Have a quick google search on stop and search rights, you'll get loads of info. They shouldn't have even searched your pockets/bag themselves, but asked you to empty the contents of them. I'd make a complaint at your local police station, they should know who was in what area at what times Frooty
  13. Forgive me if i'm wrong, but I don't see it, am I missing something obvious? Love the look of the bike by the way. Frooty
  14. Yeah I heard that, apparently the government have said doctors aren't allowed to test for it, whether thats just due to keep the testing labs work to a sensible level, or so the figures for 'confirmed cases' don't get too high I dunno. I personally think its all a bit over-hyped. There are probably more people dying of/being infected with much 'less-deadly' diseases, but because we already know about those diseases and they have been around since forever, no-one worries. I know a few people who have got it, and apart from 1 or 2 of them milking it for all its worth they are generally fine, just feeling a bit under the weather more than anything. Frooty
  15. The actual forks used are the 'Handsome Dog Super Strongs' from All Terrain Cycles, not sure they have any more left though but worth keeping your eyes our, i'll try find weight of them for you. Frooty
  16. That sums it up perfectly! Frooty
  17. Get one of them big bubble things, that'll protect you for sure (you then WON'T be able to move from your desk) I know what your saying about my posts (and I don't mean to sound like a tabloid article), but IMO trials is a sport that involves a lot of risk, and personally I wouldn't want to risk a fall and skull fracture simply because I didn't wear something as small as a helmet. I don't understand how some people can ride all the time, especially the big riders, without a helmet. Frooty
  18. No, thats what I thought when I saw the pictures. The forks have no sweep (if thats the right word) on them at all and are pretty much straight from the steerer down to the fork legs. Nice short wheelbase. Frooty
  19. I started driving recently and I have never done that, and never will. Most likely due to the fact I have a 5 month old Daughter who is often in the car with me, Oh, and I have some sense! Frooty
  20. Try falling from your riding position and aiming your head at the kerb, that'll answer your question. I really don't know why people ride (especially trials) without a helmet Frooty
  21. ALWAYS wear a helmet, it only takes 1 fall to crack your skull and cause serious damage. I HATE seeing the videos where people ride without helmets!!! I remember when a guy round my end used to ride, and had a bad fall at Shipley Glen, if he didn't wear his helmet he would probably be drinking from a tube. WTF, you don't wear one as it feels uncomfortable, find one that fits then!!!! When it comes to choosing between rock or a helmet, I know which would feel the most uncomfortable. Anyone who rides without a helmet is a fool, who has little to no sense/consideration for themself. Frooty
  22. I loved that video, was really good to see the progression, and he has progressed very fast. Well done Adam, i'll be keeping an eye for you in the future Frooty
  23. Bet you only get half of that, if your lucky I would come, but have work all day Frooty
  24. Thougt it was about time I sorted a bike out to get me some weight lost, and 'cause I miss riding, so made myself get the parts I need, and build the bike. Below is the finished outcome. Quick spec Base frame (the original TA26) king hubs F & R Middleburn cranks maggie rear, SD 7 front Pazzaz stem and carbon bars Some old school handsomedog steel forks (weight a tonne but hey ho, they won't snap) Time to ride.... Frooty
  25. Theres nothing to say that a nasty fall from a 6 foot wall 2 days before (or some other accident/big move) didn't weaken them, and you jumping over the drain was just the final knock required to snap them. The problem with trials is you are constantly abusing and putting strain on the parts, which are I agree designed for this type of thing, but they can only take so much before giving in. Nothing last forever (apart from a Handsomedog Rockhound frame which weights 3.2573 tonnes). Like Hannah said, if they were faulty it is likely they would have snapped much sooner. Its just a part of trials i'm afraid. Frooty
