I've just finished the translation of the article on the XXV for Tribal Zine (read it here). Here's a description of it that makes a little more sense: - The frame adopts a redesigned headtube, thicker top and down tubes and a reinforced central section (seat tube junction). - The fork has been completely redesigned. The first new feature is a thicker, one-piece steerer directly onto which the fork legs are welded. The fork is composed of 100% 7005-T6 Aluminium. - The transmission has also been reworked. After several months of testing, Monty presents a new 15-10 gear ratio, which does not change the ratio, which remains at 1:1.5, but allows the bashguard to be made smaller, improving clearance and saving weight. The new freewheel is completely waterproof thanks to the incorporation of two pieves of plastic positioned in the body to prevent dust, water and dirt from getting in. The small ten tooth cog has also be reworked and Monty claim that it is a revolutionary design, with shape and thickness allowing improved traction while pedalling. - The hubs have been lightened and redesigned to allow for the small diameter of the fixed cog. - The full weight if the new Kamel XXV is published as 8695 grams! It is actually a redesigned bash plate, just must not look that different in the photos...

I've rode Hastings a fair few times (used to live in Deal), it's a case of finding the time to get down to Kent with my bike! Certainly won't be able to do it til after September... soon though!

I don't think there are any more TV show videos like that, but there are plenty of competition vidoes from various World Cup and National Championship rounds - have a look through this thread for the video articles, which are linked to the site. Also, Team Ropraz have done a lot of nice comp videos recently - check them out here. On another note - I saw your photos from Loxely Common in Sheffield the other day - fancy meeting for a ride down that way sometime next week/weekend?

Just seen these on the Rotoburn forum (here) - the sections look immense! Four of the sections will be built here with another two to be built on the far side of the bridge, making a total of 8 sections for the Observed Trials course. I'm excited and I'm not even going!

I really like the chain tensioner idea - similar to that on the 20 Caelifera. Not that keen on the shape of the bike, but the weight and geo aren't to be sniffed at!

That was a cool video! Nice to see all my local spots in a well-edited video! I've done all those lines, but it looks way cooler in the video! Did you have any trouble from the rangers in the Peaks? I can't seem to go up there without getting bloody caught! Are you doing a display as part of the festival Duncan? Will it be on both days? I'm quite keen to get down, but have a busy weekend so quite want to make sure I go on the day when (if) there's going to be some trials! EDIT: just been on the website: here Trials Display are apparently putting on shows on both days: Ben Slinger and his team from Trials Display (the UK's leading Bike Trials display team, having won British, European and World Championships between them) will provide 4 incredible 30 minute shows each day at 11.30, 13.30, 15.30 & 17.00.
