Well good, thanks so much for all the replies. I'll keep me eye out for a 306 TD Just one thing though, aren't there any with smaller sized engines, just for the sake of bringin t'insurance down a bit?
-
I'm gonna be getting a new frame and forks in the next month or two, and I can't for the life of me decide which to get. I ride a Base TA26 at the minute, and being 6' 2" on a 1020 bike, I'm starting to feel pretty restricted now that I'm trying bigger stuff. I'm learning front wheel moves at the minute, and I love them, and want a frame thats gonna help me with these, and sidehops and taps. So I was thinking something long ish, minimum BB rise? But then I thought that going from 1020 to 1090 might be a bit much, so I'm completely lost. Here are the frames I was thinking: Zhi Z1 Czar 2007 (Long or Short?) The Deng frames (Long or Short again?) Simtra ST-1 KOT MS2 What should I get?!?!?!

306 it is then! Is that 1.6 though, the turbo diesel? What if I can't find a 306 with the right engine size? What'd be next on the list of nice, cheap, good cars to buy?
-
You must be joking?! How old are you? Thats well good. My mates Corsa is £1200 a year.

Christ, 2 replies in about 5 seconds! Nice one! I really have no idea about models and stuff, or cars in general really. I just know of the little ish cars that would be good first timers, thats it. Sorry for making another thread on it, I did a quick search beforehand but didn't find anything. Musn't have been thorough enough!

YUSSSS. I should be driving soon. As soon as I know what cars to start looking for. I'm 18, so obviously its gotta be 1.2 or under, or maybe a 1.6 diesel? I have no idea. I'll be using it a lot (to and from blackpool 3 - 5 days a week plus driving to rides and stuff) so its gotta be shit hot reliable and get about 1,000,000 MPG. Basically, I need a little car thats reliable/economical and could handle 2 or 3 bikes on the back on a rack. I've been thinking.. -Corsa -Fiesta -Honda Civic -Punto -Bravo -Mitsubishi Colt -Polo But I have no idea which to get, which are better cars and cheaper on insurance. Somebody wanna give me a hand?! Is there any other cars I should be looking at? probably looking at spending no more than £1500 on the car itself. Cheers!

Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is a well good free online shooter, but I don't know how well it'd run on a laptop. Could give it a go?
-
this is gonna be well good! has anyone got in touch with MBUK or something about it? could be a good way of generating a lot more interest, regardless of whether its from trials riders or not

I've been working on ways of getting up things that isn't straight to backwheel. I'm trying hopping up to front wheel, which is working out and can do it up about 6 bricks high. I've tried the odd little tap, but theyre a bit hard yet. So, I tried sidehops. And tried. And tried. And tried. etc. I know how to do them, I just can't. I try leaning to the side I want to hop to, but I just lose balance. I've tried some just going straight up, to see if I can at least get the height, but I just go up a bit and back a lot instead. I put a cardboard box out in my street and tried sidehopping over it, so at least I wont hurt myself if I fall. Is this a good idea? Just practise hopping over stuff like this? Or am I wasting my time? Should I find a little wall/ledge instead? Would that be more productive? Should I hop and land just on the backwheel, or both wheels? Sorry for another sidehop thread, but I'm desperate!

I'd love to be able to go out and ride on my own, but its just not safe round here. When I do go ridin in town with my mates, I always nip off to a little spot a little further away and just hammer at something I've been trying to do for ages, its the best way I reckon. No distractions or anything, just being able to do what you want, how you want etc.

that working at subway is the worst decision I ever made, ever. And I almost learned how to front wheel up stuff last night
-
I'd wait and see what the new CZAR frames are like, the geo sounds a lot nicer I reckon. What was your last frame?
-
Thats well nice! Are these frames still available anywhere??

Square tapers are bellends. And so is having no money. My bottom bracket has completely rounded off, and my cranks don't look like they're far behind. I've tried threadlock and the coke can bodge, but neither worked very well. I have to carry an 8mm round with meand tighten my cranks every 5 minutes, and I'm about ready to commit myself. Tarty Adam tells me the Echo forged cranks for £50 are pretty decent, but having searched round on here, it looks like loads of people have stripped threads and what have you in them, so I'm not sure. So, I was thinking a gigapipe BB, those cranks and a 74Kingz bash. Having looked at my budget, Middleburns seem a bit...out of it. So what would people generally recommend? Gigapipe/Echo Forged/Whatever bash is decent and will fit, or find some decent condition second hand middleburns?
-
You should absolutely get some green rim tape I reckon. I love these frames, and thats exactly how I'm gonna have mine when Ive got £300. Except some black middleburns. Love it

A bit OT, but whereabouts are you from mate? I live just round the corner from tarty, you should come riding in chorley when you've got your bike! OT....have you decided which bike you're going to get then? I've only ever bought from tarty, so you'll have to hang on for someone who's bought from supercycles to answer that one. I imagine the bike will be in pieces when it arrives. Again, I'm not sure completely what state of.....build? it'll be in. As far as quick releases go....I'm not sure either. I don't think many, or any mods will have quick releases (someone correct me if I'm wrong,) because the rear wheel on a mod has horizontal dropouts, as opposed to vertical ones (like on a stock bike.) The difference being that horizontal dropouts are horizontal, so the wheel can slide up and down in the frame to get your chain tension right. Some might have a quick release on the front though. Your best bet is probably to email Supercycles I think. Or wait for someone to post that knows more than me!

Nice! I love the monty-esque one. Will there be similar full builds for the stock frames? Or any new stock frames, besides the neon yellow Z1?
-
I'd be happy to test them, and photograph them if you like. I have access to fully equipped studio. I'm on a smooth DX32, but V-brakes. I'm gonna get some v-daptors anyway. PM me if you're interested myspace.com/billy_morris (I am actually a photographer, not a free pad scrounger...)

Aaaaah, if that thing was 135 I'd be there in a flash. These frames ride so nice. -
Probably an Ashton Justice or a short Adamant A1, some black middlueburns, new forks, headset, BB and front wheel. The rest would go on lenses and studio gear. And Guinness
-
Also notice that they have zero feedback, and havent even put upa bloody spec!
-
Aah, I see. I'll just go give it a spin and see if it needs doing then. Thanks!
-
BOLLOCKS. I hadn't noticed, thanks for that. I took it off and put it back on about 4 b*****d times fitting the tensioner. Will I need to flip em round, or does it not matter that much?
-
Just need some black 'burns and maybe some different forks and she'll be perfect! Frame - TA26 Forks - Some cheapos that came complete with it Front wheel - 2005 Echo Front Tyre - Try-All Stiky Cranks - DMR Rear Wheel - Pro 2 on DX32 and Hansventure tyre Stem - Onza 120x17 Bars - ZOO! Levers, BB and headset are all cheapy bits, and the 74 Kingz tensioner was fresh from Tarty today!

Whatever you do, don't buy the lower end Canon models. The lenses are absolutely terrible. Get a Nikon D50, or D40. If you can find a decent price second hand, get a D70s. Seriously, avoid the 350d and 400d.
