He uses the giro xen limited edition helmet (the one matt's post), only that he have changed the visor (or what they are called) with a silver one.

A 2.5" tyre will be much more stable than a 2.25", so I would recomend you to get a 2.5"

Dont get a freewheel. Get a Hope Pro 2 or Chris King hub instead.
