Powder Coating is much tougher than paint. As people have said above, it's probably cheaper to get it done than pay for all the wet/dry paper, primer and paint. If you're after pimp factor, Argos Racing cycles in Bristol will do you a flip paint job for around £85 for frame & forks. Jon

I'd guess head gasket has gone between cylinders 2 & 3. You've only mentioned 3 cylinders... Are you sure your don't mean cylinders 1&4 are at 13 bar? Jon

Either air in the system or more likely you cooked them - should be able to smell it if you did cos they'll stink. Were you using the brakes a lot before they failed to stop you? When you realised they weren't doing a lot did you think to use the handbrake lightly? It's supposed to be there as a backup if your main brakes fail, although just yanking it on isn't a great idea! What car/brakes is it? Are the discs vented? What pad are you running? It's probably worth looking into a branded brake pad (something like EBC Green's) if you're having problems with overheating. Jon
