  1. First of all, the pedal box is in! I attempted at welding some box section in for a support but that went absolutely tits up as I blew through the floor a bit and set a bit of underseal on fire. My h&s head kicked in and realised I shouldn't be doing this in the garage underneath the house so I resorted to m8 nut and bolting it. Then got a 3mm sheet of steel on top as a base for the pedal box. Held in with some alu stand offs it's absolutely solid. Tried pushing it with all my force on it and it didn't budge only gave my seats a f**king horrible creaking sound. Going to tidy it up with paint obviously but in terms of position it feels good Abs rings fitted to the driveshafts with copper grease Brake pipes fitted under neath the car for the rears Then began dismantling the fuel pump to fit the uprated one. Had to Dremel three ribs out, one already done on the picture. Got through a few bits and bobs now. Next job is to fit all the parts back to the engine apart from the side covers for the belts to be accessed. Then mock fit the clio engine harness and sort out any issues there. Makes it a million time easier than doing it on the car! Also drilled my bumper and fitted a sticker plate which I think, despite being the same size as the 3/4 plate, looks wayyyy too big so that'll be going smaller I think. No loss though.
  2. Painted the engine last night. Also was thinking something like this for the pedal box? What do people think... Strong enough?

Been taking selfie advice from gok wan again!!
  4. It does mate! Can't wait to do more. Genuinely find it so rewarding! No I went a bit all out haha got the full shabang. But luckily not on a rental basis, deposit based and gas is only £30 for a refill on 230 bar bottles. He can deliver too. Really recommend him as he got me a sweet deal overall with the regulator etc.
  5. So welding gas is nice then!

It's mainly from Facebook. Sadly how forums are going in general
  7. Finally had an hour or two to myself tonight so sorted some random jobs. The dangling fuse box you can see in previous photos was doing my head in. So with the spare carbon fibre I had I mounted the fuse box to it with an m5 bolt. Got some new bolts on the way that are stainless to tidy things up. It now matches the rest of the dash. Fitted the bulkhead adapter through the back of the car for the brake line to pass through From underneath Mounted the brake and clutch res bottles by riveting the bracket underneath the scuttle panel Starting to take shape now... Weekend plans are to strip the parts off the engine like inlet and alternator etc and spray them. Got some paint from Halfords the other day. Gone for a generic silver but it should look good when it's all clean in the bay! Also got my number plate off as I'm drilling holes where it currently is And got a stick on vinyl number plate on the way.
  8. Happy for you mate! How much for the cumshot?

It's worth mentioning that the cutting stuff in half is in no way related to the #iamkate thing. The I am Kate thing is because a rider on here who is a bit "interesting" to say the least lied about having a girlfriend called Kate until was found out.. Hahaha. The cutting stuff in half is just weird.
  10. Made a fair bit of progress this weekend weaving in and out of going out. Found some steel in the back of the garage and cut it to size to fill this void. As i'm moving back the gear stick and raising it up I needed to put the bolt directly where the hole would be for the original gear stick Welded that in (still got no gas and using the gasless setting so the welds are so sloppy) Works though. Still waiting on some alu tube to act as a riser for that. Next step was to mock where I want my race battery. Rivnutted them. Best invention ever! Earth in Nicely got it in the grommet where the bonnet release usually goes Final pics. Going to remove that horrible foam that sits on the gearstick at one point. Cheers
  11. More random bits of progress tonight. Aluminium sheet arrived so stenciled around it with the original brake servo box. Drill holes and now I'm waiting on some tin snips from Amazon. The bolts in my car that are black are suffering with surface rust so my aim is to replace them all with stainless. Got to use my new sexy riv nut gun too. Before During After As I'll be spraying the engine I want to degrease it first. So I've wrapped everything up where water can possibly get in. I'll degrease then remove parts and mask up and spray. Going for a nice zinc etch primer colour. Much like my engine table. Got to use this lovely b*****d the other night. Coupled with a brake cutter it gave me a nice finish. Tonight I've just ordered an uprated fuel pump and a short shift for the megane box. Starting to get motivated for it now. Plans for this week are to fit the battery relocation kit and get the clutch ordered.
  12. Sorry I meant expensive to make a false floor
  13. Yeah got a flaring tool. For a decent flare it needs to be as perpendicular as possible so not wanting to risk it with a hacksaw. WhWhat George said yeah, and I'm using a cable throttle body do the pedal box is ideal
  14. Ive made a list of things I need to do to get the car completed. It's quite a long list of smaller jobs, some having more priority than others. Missed off a few things too as I realised last night. Got a collection of Megane parts at the back of the garage which I need to list and sell. The engine is on the stand and I've dismantled it to get the cambelt cover off Ac compressor is off now and I'm waiting on a stretch belt to arrive so I can fit the 182 pulley with it. Boris is back in the garage with the bonnet off so I can do the little odd jobs. Forgot what the inside of the car looked like for ages Fitted the master cylinders to the pedal box with new bolts and washers. Something so so satisfying about having new ss fasteners. And my next issue is... Pedal box position. Even with the seat the furthest it will go on the side mounts and subframes its not a comfortable position at all. I need to think about how I'm to solve this as the pedal box wants to be up and back where the original pedal box used to be ideally... Got the fabbed driveshafts for the box conversion and tonight after Harry Potter I removed the cable ties holding them on, regreased them and fitted new boot clips. Before After Going to black Hammerite them when I get chance. Nice to have crossed something off the list! Next step will be getting rid of the shell and doing all the brake lines as I received most of the parts for it on Friday. 11 parcels arrived on one day Hahaha. Brakeline, unions, t pieces etc Waiting on a brake line cutter and pipe bender, p clips and a bulkhead adapter for the rears as I want to do it neat and as properly as possible. I'm now niggled about the pedal box situ...
  15. I'll trunk you right in the dick
  16. Luke have you got a postcode? I'm about 30 mins from Stoke
  17. Yeah managed to sell the shell to someone for £250 which is decent I think. Made a right profit on the car as a whole with me obviously keeping the engine box and loads of other bits and bobs. Received my parts today. Gf messaged me saying "you've received a casual 11 items today" hahahaha
  18. Awesome! Megane is stripped and ready for the new owner.
  19. I must have missed this. Mike you're turboing your car?
  20. Nx mate. Really liking it.
