That looks like a fantastic idea. Would love to try making something like that.

c/p - sorry if it's a bit of a repeat. Well i've been busy. 90% of the time I have also been absolutely scared senseless, i'll explain - So I updated my ecu firmware last week to the latest version which now has an altered dwell time (no idea what that means but apparently it stops the ecu from burning out), I now have a revmeter, I now also have a coolant display, I also now have a fuel pump shut off once primed which is awesome as before it continued to pump on ignition. That's all great, I did however had absolutely no fire up what so ever... I copied over the base map, my map from Chris @ efi and altered some settings thanks to the help from those who had the same ecu as me however it didn't fire at all. The ECU was sensing so RPM. I spoke with a guy at work who has the same ecu as me on his mx5 turbo and told me to play with the crank trigger setting, it can either decent the signal when its rising or falling. Mine was set to the wrong one after the update and luckily changing this to falling fixed it - it then fired up. I was more relieved after this fix compared to the first fire when I fitted the engine, I think it was more because it's only a week before the re-map! I brought a chair downstairs because I knew it was going to be a long night haha I received a new track day helmet. Absolutely love it. The next thing on the back of my mind was the brake cooling duct. I originally bought 100mm ducts but didn't want to run 100mm ducting purely because of the size of it. So with a 100-50mm reducer and some 50mm tubing it's all secure. I want to get a laser thermometer to see if it actually makes a difference, and consequently have a play with different sized deflector plates if it doesn't. The next thing I did was install the emergency hammer and seatbelt cutter. I've opted for this place as it's very easy to reach when strapped in tight in the harnesses. Started with my favourite invention, the riv nut I made a better more secure false floor out of 2mm steel plate and some grip tape. It feels much better now compared to the fake carbon fibre abs plastic I had in there before. I also wired in my N75 valve (boost control) properly, I was told that I could just wire in my carbon canister wiring to the boost solenoid and it would work, nope! Turns out you have to wire in a 12V feed to one side of the N75 valve whilst ONE wire from the carbon canister acts as a switched earth for boost control. It's a massive saving grace that I found this as it wouldn't have been working on my first mapping session... Engine bay pics now it's all finished... Edgy interior pic to finish I'm buying some front discs and pads tomorrow (£250!! fml) ready for delivery in the week then fingers crossed i'm all pretty much ready for mapping mk2. Excited? Yeah Nervous? Unbelievably

Yeah pretty much but then I re up loaded my base map and my tuning settings but it didn't restore all the settings properly.

All sorted after freaking out for a large amount of time. It was to do with the crank signal. It was set up so that it would only find a signal in the rising crank trigger waveform. It needed to be picking it up in the falling mode. I f**king hate anything to do with ecus and cars. Firedit up and it was idling perfectly red it

Nah it's ecu related. It's the settings on there.
-
Updated ecu to new firmware as this one has a working rev meter, coolant temp and fuel pump shut off after prime on ignition. Was promised it would all be okay after I changed a few settings after. Car is now showing no rpm and won't start. A week before f**king mapping. Pulling my hair out because I don't know what the issue is, nor do others. I f**king knew this would happen. Absolutely f**king knew it.

You've just been trolled by a robot. Everyone knows rusevelt is just 1s and 0s indicated by the absolute zero emotion or ability to hold a conversation.

Mines been absolutely solid for a year. Haven't had to tighten it up once.
-
What wheel is it again? I remember having to drill it out slightly so it fit.
-
Some say... I sent the seller an email asking for a discount if they removed 3mm.
-
Thanks mate, appreciate it. It's 35mm and it's this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/35mm-BLACK-Boss-Kit-Spacer-Adapter-Fit-FOR-MOMO-OMP-Aftermarket-Steering-Wheel-/122095151956? Don't be fooled into paying a million pounds for a spacer, it's a bit of turned alu either way. Regarding your wheels, my TD's had the same thing with one tyre always going down. I got some AD08r's put on the other day and the wheel was corroded like yours. I think he said he just put a bit of filler on it to hold the seal. Seems to have worked really well. What wheels are they?

I've organised a drive around the Peaks next month with the guys I went to Wales with last year. Got my manager to show me all the decent roads around here so he kindly brought me in a map and went through with me the best roads for driving on.. I then came to this plan. 90 miles of pure epic roads finishing on the cat and fiddle. If my car isn't ready i'm just going to buy a 172/182 for this then sell after haha Can't wait. I received a new mirror after seeing someone elses however I went for the cheapskate version at only £7. Seems to be okay though. Before After The seats and cage are now in, really happy that it's all pretty much sorted. Also received a helmet hammock the other day and i'm waiting on a new helmet. I caused SUCH a f**king stir on tracktime facebook page simply because I asked if anyone could offer me discount on it if they worked for a rally company like tweeks etc. Had so many track day heroes piping up. The silver/grey really goes though I'm now waiting on some foglight ducting and flexible hose to finish my brake ducts. I'll finish on a pic from the other night because no ones seen boris before
-
So why did you do this?
-
Dare you to put it back together
-
Believe it or not someone at work actually commented on them without me saying anything saying that they looked great. f**k knows why haha. I honestly don't care though.
-
Haha form over function and that! I'll sort it if I can be arsed. Just want to kick its f**king head in now on track
-
Final interior pics, just got the cage and seats to go in sometime next week. And a before just to show the difference!

I need! Where from matey?
-
Thanks! Haha what's wrong with them?!

Had a really productive day on the car today. Got home from work and nailed a load of jobs that were on my list. Fitted the front and rear door cards (actually this was the other night but uploading pics) Received some more fuel hose as i think the stuff I have may be too small in ID. Also found science on my living room floor. This is something i've always wanted to do. Really tidy the rear car loom with P clips and rivets as before it was a half arsed job. Off I went to make some holes! I tidied up the door sensor loom too and P clipped that. I then fed the rear loom through and tidied it up. Everytime I see the colour i'm more and more happy with it P clipped the rear number plate light too Lower B pillar on drivers side I then fitted the pedal box, with the new master cylinder. Big 1" jobby Pedal box in I then fitted the dash and made a start of wiring it up but was pretty happy with the progress tonight. More to follow tomorrow through the day. Final pics from tonight.. More p clip pics haha

Genuinely stsrted getting into this towards the end and my comment on the front page is pretty irrelevant. I knew I was being ignorant originally but I've done something about it. I voted yesterday for the first time. Went for Labour.

Dropped you a message Sam! Tonight was a wiring night Wired up the cut off switch properly. Wires will be going to ignition barrel as per fia requirements. I'm obviously not racing but I'm doing it properly. Also playing a game of when will she notice... Probably taking the piss a bit here haha. I'm going to clean up the seats as best I can as they're a bit dirty then start fitting everything back in the car. Got myself a 1" master cylinder for the brembos too. Hopefully it will remove some sponge from the fronts.

Cheaper car work?!?

That is a seriously kind offer mate. Thank you very much. I'll get the parts ordered! Unless you can get them easier than me? Can pay you up front of course! Let me know matey

Has anyone had any experience changing the cambelt on a lupo sdi? Mine is due and the garage want £400 to change it which simply isn't worth it. There are a few guides online but I don't have the tools or the time to do it. Would anyone be able to do it for me for some dollar obviously?
