Kosovan faces deportation after jail term

19-year-old asylum seeker sent down after horror hammer attack on young

teenager.

A 13-year-old youth was attacked by an irate Kosovan with a hammer so

severely that his fractured skull had to be put together "like a jigsaw

puzzle", a court was told.

The assault in Lovell Road, Bedford, last December was triggered when

the teenager and some young friends were being noisy outside a corner

shop.

Living in the flat above was asylum seeker Baftit Toda, who was said to

think he was being victimised.

At Luton Crown Court last Friday, prosecutor Natalie Carter said Toda,

19, armed himself with the hammer and, with it hidden in his jacket,

approached the group.

"He grabbed one of them and said to him, 'Who hit my window? You want

to f*** with me, I will kill you'."

At that point the youth who was injured stood between the two.

"The defendant took a tight grip of his clothing under the chin, took

the hammer out of his jacket and struck him over the head about four

times," said Mrs Carter. "He collapsed to the floor and one of his

friends thought he might be dead.

"Toda continued swinging the hammer towards the rest of the group and

chased them when they ran away.

"As a result of the attack the victim had a depressed fracture of the

skull. In surgery it was put together like a jigsaw," she said.

He was in hospital in Cambridge for 12 days, off school for a month,

and now suffers headaches and is scarred, the court heard.

Toda pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent on

December 2 last year.

When questioned he denied the attack, and was bailed for identification

evidence to be obtained. He failed to return when required and was not

rearrested until June.

The court heard that he had been charged on three previous occasions

for possessing offensive weapons. One was a baseball bat studded with

drawing pins, one was a shotgun without a certificate, and one was a

gas-operated handgun, classed as an imitation firearm.

Geoffrey Sullivan, defending, said: "He came here when he was 13 to

escape the civil war. Living with the aura of violence has had a bad

effect on him."

Judge Geoffrey Breen said: "This was a savage attack on a much younger

person and other young people could see the dreadful violence you

used."

Toda received an indeterminate sentence for public protection, but will

be able to first apply for parole in two-and-a-half years' time. He

will be on licence for life, but the Immigration Service said he will

be deported on his release.

Most people who would emigrate to a better place will come from a shit hole, so why should England lower it's standards and jeopardize it's internal safety for some ass love from another minister. an 18 year old man feels its fully justified to try and kill someone because of the noise they were making.

i did post in the angry thread because this time three years ago i was just getting to addenbrookes hospital.

maybe you are right i shouldn't have posted this as a topic and if the mods feel the same way the i'm with them if they close it mate

simple push/pull factors. there's the shit countries push factors ie. war/famine/poverty/polical+governance and pull factors from better countries, generally more developed ones for their education, standard of living and welfare systems for example.

but yes in simple terms your countries shit and others pretty good is about right..

Smashing someone in the head repeatedly is ATTEMPTED MURDER not GBH.

This wasn't something that happened in a split second in a fight or flight reaction. He wasn't defending himself from harm or neutralising an attacker. This man got up, went and picked up a hammer, left his flat, descended the stairs, made his way to the group, threatened 2 people, then grabbed one and hit them repeatedly over the head with a weapon. He had plenty of opportunites to not do this.
