I wouldn't worry about her ex, if it was me I wouldn't give him a second thought but you're probably a nicer man than me. Looking at the birds eye view it's only the main hall that's gone right in the centre of the complex and a small secion of the north east wing which was to access the main hall. Seems odd that they just knocked that down. I hear it's been sold so maybe it's days are numbered as you say, but I gotta see it before it goes, I mean it's right on my doorstep! Too right! I checked out www.28dayslater.co.uk and saw everyone going on about Severalls. I live in Colchester and have done for years and when anyone says Severalls they're generally talking about the industrial estate, so I was like "What on earth is so great about that" because it's not derelict or anything, I worked there for a while, but when I looked and saw it was an asylum I was like "Where the hell is that" and it turns out it's right near my ex girlfriends house, and I never even realised it was there, it's HUGE! We drove down there last night and there's lots of fencing and we assumed it was all fenced off, so came home and I went on MSN maps using the birds eye view and checked it out, saw all the fences we saw from the car but it looks like the front is pretty easy access once you sneak past the guards, no fences at all, so me and my housemate are gonna give it a go soon. I love this kinda stuff, used to do it when I was young (without realising it was an actual kinda hobby). I used to live in Tiptree and there was a book printers called Tiptree Book Services which closed and the building was abandoned and me and my mates used to go in there and look around, was all sorts in there, computers and books and stuff, was really cool, had a great time sneaking round avoiding the guards. Unfortunately it's been knocked down a good few years now and there's a Tesco's and a bunch of houses in it's place but I looked on MSN maps and the arial maps are so old it's still on them, brought back memories!! I wish people would stop using the word stupid, really don't understand how it is stupid to go to America to meet someone you've been talking to for over a year, that's more than long enough to decide someone is decent enough to meet up with and get a holiday out of it, that's pretty smart if you ask me. He's not getting married for god sake, he's going on holiday to meet someone he's known a long time, longer than most of you have had your current girlfriends I'd bet! Davey

I have tried a mini and it's no comparison, admitedly they're pretty good fun and all that but I personally feel a little silly in one and a Rallye is just much quicker (as standard for the same price)! Davey

I see your point Simon, but I wasn't suggesting they have a long distance relationship, I know full well how difficult they are, I was more implying he could move to America or vice versa, people do it all the time, I'd love to move to America. And I know people are gonna say "Oh what about family" etc etc but for a start some people aren't as family orientated as others, me included, and secondly with family a long distance relationship is afr easier and in many ways far better, I only see my parents at Xmas and Birthdays anyway! Not a fact. Sure there are plenty of better cars but not for the same price. A Peugeot 106 S1 Rallye in excellent condition with a few mods costs around £1,800 and there's not much on the road standard that it can't keep up with and pretty much NOTHING in it's price range that comes even close. It's like go carting on the road, so much fun I'm telling you, drive one and then tell me they are shite!!! Still love you.... but you have a grump on at the moment, lol! Davey

Much respect for people who actually get this stuff, but can anyone actually explain to me what the point is of any of this, I mean what is it useful for? Nothing against people who learn it, I expect it's interesting in it's own way, but it just seems so pointless to me, like someone has just come up with it for the sake of coming up with it and sounding clever. On a similar subject, sociology is another subject that annoys me, all it's good for is becoming a sociology teacher, it doesn't apply anywhere in life or work or anything that I can tell. Maybe I'm just bitter because I'm not smart enough to get it, but seriously, who has ever used this stuff in context outside of learning it? Davey

I think Snappel hit the proverbial nail on the head when he mentioned people complaining about their own dead end lives. Not that I'm any less guilty but the old problem page is full of people saying they don't have any motivation and they don't think their lives are going anywhere, where as JT is taking life by the short and curlies and making it go places! If things end up working out then what will happen is he'll move there or she'll move here, it's not impossible, people have been doing it for years, just the majority of people are too lazy or too comfy in their day to day lives to consider anything that radical, it's far easier to let life pass by at a snails pace. It's not a bad thing but shouldn't lay into people with some ambition and sense of adventure! Wish I wasn't such a lazy arse, maybe I'd be heading to America to meet some hot bird and fall in love, don't see how anyone can put a negative spin on that, how is it stupid? Davey
