right,i'll try to explain this problem as best as i can but im no mechanic so i might say stuff wrong lol. i got my 2000 x-reg 1.8turbo diesel ford escort van 2 weeks ago,and from the start it took a few attempts to get the thing going.the engine turned over but it wouldnt fire untill the 4th or 5th attempt, but once i was running it would run sweet,no problems what so ever, even would start well even after leaving it for 4-5 hours ;untill this week. as of monday the bloody thing does not start when i need it too for when i need to get to work,i have flatterned the batterry 3 times attempting to get it going.i've had a mechanic have a look for 4 afternoons this week and he's fitted or adjusted . . . 1.non return valve on the fuel line 2.new battery 3.new fuel filter 4.gow plugs 5.tightened fan belt to alternator 6.adjusted tick over so were a bit stumped now, does anyone have any idea's what could be up? incase anyone was wondering,i wait for the glowplug light to go out before i try to start, there is electricty going to the plugs and the thing has started in the afternoons untill today. any tips, ideas or anything greatly appreciated, thanks for reading, steve.
