When electromagnetic waves, such as those used by a wireless router (to communicate) hit something metal, the signal travels down the metal much easier than it does through air. If you ran a length of metal in between the router and the other pc, the signal might be carried just far enough for the devices to be able to communicate. In fact thinking about it, a long piece of metal could be a wire.

Go to view the code. A few lines down you'll see the line .style9 {font-size: large} Change it to .style9 {font-size: 12pt} Change 12 to the desired size. It's all about explicitly specifying the size you want.

Yes Thorpe Marsh, you know your stuff!

A closed down power station pres de chez moi: A random digger. All that stuff in the background was still humming loud. My favorite. The thing down the middle is like a raised walkway leading to where I guess all of the steam for condensing bellows out of. My friend is in the middle of the picture for scale. If anyone has the opportunity to check out one of these I suggest they do. It is an unreal experience. The echo inside you would not believe. This one has been gutted (the other ones had some kind of gauze-like material filling them).

It's done usually by recording a *video* of the move, then splicing fram grabs from the video together.

I think that if Bif wants to waste his life away on this shitty forum he should be allowed to. He's a sound guy who has outbursts, so it will undoubtedly not be a long time before he gets banned again, but he contributes a lot in the short spaces in which he's a validated member.

Think of it this way.... We have already made both fusion and fission bombs (H and A respectively) and they both work on quite simple principles, once you know how what's happening in atoms and stuff. I mean, uranium gives off massive amounts of energy when it's jst sat there, surely that's an incling that you could make a bomb out of it? So far, there have been no indications that there is a way to make a proton bomb - where would one start? As for the political involvement... You can bet your left bollock world leaders watch this stuff carefully. In fact, if you think the fact that this is being funded by England is a bad thing, just consider the implications if they *were* able to develop a bomb from the findings. We would be the first to have such a bomb. Alongside our German friends of course... but when have they ever been know to attack anyone.

So do you know what it is yet? I know it's a baby. I mean boy or girl. And what are you doing to call it when it comes out?

No, you won't be able to run any compiled .class on the phone. Different runtime environments have different capabilities (static in-built classes?? i don't knwo it was YEARS ago! ). The reason java's cross-platform is becasue the Runtime Environment is a virtual one, and has to be programmed in that platforms native code. The classes themselves aren't cross platform, as they only work in one runtime - the java one! For starters, most java designed for desktops will require mouse input, which the phone don't have, so there's no way the file will run as it won't detect the mouse input classes in the runtime.

Agreed, although it is still not that dangerous. Not as dangerous as existing nuclear power anyway, and that's all over. That's becasue the fuel is hydrogen, which is not radioactive, as opposed to uranium, which is. Anyway, it's worth the risk, becasue if this shit gets made it'll mean the end of global warming in 3 taps of your heels, and almost free energy. The implications would be huge.

Shit man, I hope everythings ok. Bet you'll be keeping her locked away now though eh. Waiting on her hand and foot!

Second biggest willy on the forum Actually, I was trying to emphasise how people turn this into stuff it's not, by saying it will be used to create a totally dreamed up bomb.
-
What's a proton bomb? I'm guessing it's nothing more than a word you plucked from the article, but know little about, with 'bomb' written after it?
-
No. It will lead to a better description of the contents of the proton, as I already said. In no religeon, as far as I know, is there a description of the contents of a proton, therefore there is nothing to kill these infidel scientists over. If they have any sense though they'll stop reffering to the Higgs boson (for mass) as the god particle, to stop retards protesting about looking for it. No, the energies of the particles are similar to the big bang. This takes into account the size of the particle though. The actual energy of the collision will be less that the amount of energy of a snowflake hitting the floor. Much less. Fact.
-
You don't understand, so you shouldn't be saying ti shouldn't be built becasue it 'goes too far'. The atom was already 'cracked', by a number of scientists culminating in Rutherfords description that has changed little to this day. This thing is designed to 'crack' protons, the things at the centre of atoms. All that will happen is we will end up with a better description of what particles make up a proton, and the bosons that hold them together (yes, interestingly forces are particles too!). Nobody will be playing god. Before someone goes off on one saying that the miniture black holes that are created are dangerous, that is incorrect too. In fact, similar energy collisions are happening all the time createing these black holes already. High energy particles from space collide with the earth constantly (with energys in excess of those in the LHC).

It is a huge amount of money to invest in something. Makes you wonder how they get the funding really. Although those sneaky scientists sure know who pays the bills; the govornment However useful it may be for certain applications, it is highly unlikey it will help with global warming AT all!

Java games for phones, are programmed in Java so that they can be played on any java compatible phone. My point is, all those ones i've come across come named game.jar or game.jad, so i'm assuming they ALL have to be. Now, having programmed in java quite a bit, I can tell that what you have there certainly is a java file all right, fresh from the compiler. They always come out as .class. But contradictory to what i already said about java being supposedly cross platform compatible, those are java files for the pc. Yours truely. Mark

Can A Fly Stop A Train?! (more Technical)
Extreme_biker0 replied to boon racoon's topic in Chit Chat
Some people must think the main way to decide somethings speed is by how fast its wheel are spinning. Thats f**king retarded. What is something doesnt have wheels? Can it not move? An objects (a plane is an object too) speed is determined by how fast it is moving, not how fast its wheels are spinning. So when the question says that the conveyor tracks the speed of the plane, it obviously means its speed, Relative to 'not moving at all', which is also an obvious assumption. So JT, either you think things without wheels cannot move (because they can have no speed), or you're wrong because the question does make sense (to parody your post with a closing question with seemingly obvious answer to prove a point ) I hope you are joking. If not well you're a very special boy -
Pray tell, what's it gonna be like? Mainly, light or dark backgroud!? The anticipation is so intense it's f**king unbelievable.

There's a games thing in the menu somehwere on msn where you can play the contact you're talking to at certain games. On a side note, is it ok to beg in your signature?
-
Yeah, but if you're at the lights in a porche next to a lad in a done up corsa, you're not gonna bother racing it. It's clear who the loser is already.

Recompress the mp3. If there is a single byte of erroneous data, without any error correction it would crash the decoder, which is probably what's happening here. Actually, just decompress it first. Use sound recorder (start-->programs-->accessories-->entertainment (maybe)-->sound recorder) to open it up and then press file-->properties, change it to WAV and then press convert now then save as.

Haha Another one that shows your smooth and sophisticated charming side... 'Does this rag smell like chloroform to you?' 'Cette odeur de chiffon aime-t-elle le chloroforme à vous?' Guarenteed to pull a mucky with that one

Is that how blind people see the forum?
