I spent Christmas on the beach at a surf camp in Australia. They have opposite seasons due to to hemispheres or global positioning or something? funny thing is, all the christmas stuff there is still winter orientated, ie all the christmas cards are snowy.

good points dudes, thank you. Im slowly trying to learn the ropes with all the tech side. Technology advances so fast that as soon as you buy something there is something else faster or better. I just want peace of mind that this 2011 imac wont be unusable in 2-3years or beyond hopefully. Similarly actually whilst we are on the subject. Is a macbook out of the question? Ive always believed that for performance its got to be a desktop. But i do like laptops for portability

I'm really struggling at the moment to decide which Mac to get (i want a mac, not pc so dont bother telling me which pcs are better etc). I want to be able to use Creative suite on it and it to be capable of video editing if required. I may end up just using it for porn and browsing but it may well become more than that as I am trying to get back into the designing world. The only headaches it gives me is it has no usb 3.0 ports and the fact it is already 2 years old (although hardly used) and im unsure as to whether the graphics card is good enough combined with all the other spec parts to be honest. I just need someone with comp spec understanding to turn all these facts and figures into understandable average joe terms. Would you suggest spending hundreds more to get a newer mac? If so which one? Another annoying fact is apple are due to make new releases next week which I would normally wait for but I need to get practising on CS asap.

Evenin' all. I've recently thought up an idea (i'll share it on here soon enough to get some opinions) and have gone about trying to see if it is patented, whilst I have found something similar its not quite the same. And the amount of terminology and paragraph after paragraph of jargon I am completely confused as to whether this current patent effects my idea or if my idea is even capable of being protected. So I just wondered if anyone on here knew much about patents,copyrights and trademarks etc. Has anyone directly applied for one? Costs involved? Do I need to go via a company or can I file my own? Any recommendations? My idea is extremely simple, involving fashion, which I think if it went well the big boys would bang out a copy easily which is very off putting. Any help or guidance would be appreciated ps- if anyone is particularly knowledgeable and willing to help I would be really thankful if I could PM you with my idea and the patent I have found etc for you to mull over.

Can I be nosey? How did all this come about? I think its amazing but don't know how people even start thinking about such an incredible journey. Hi david. The hex is the same as the 2012 team hex but it runs a front BB7 cable disc. The rear is the same magura hs33. As i said to you before, the BB7 is an awesome disc brake favoured by a lot of the powerful riders (like neil tunnicliffe I believe) and the lever feel matches the magura alot more, which is my reason for changing. Just thought I would clear that up a bit for you

I messaged the seller asking a few questions regarding contradicting info etc, but stated I may take a punt on it due to it having a returns policy and paying by paypal so I will have pretty good buyer protection. I'm 99% sure that retina displays are only on the latest released macbook pros. He hasn't stated year and obviously he has created an awful advert, but I went with the word retina. Other things I noted were it says 8gb memory but 512gb storage. This doesn't tie up with apple, as 8gb has 256 and the 16gb has 512. He has stated that it comes with 10.7 lion but apple said it comes with 10.8 mountain lion, although they did say if it is 10.7 it will update within 30 days of registration. I haven't paid yet and I'm going to contact the seller and ask for the serial code on the box, although it could be any box. I'm just massively wary as it seems to good to be true. This is after all a £2300 laptop which is brand new in box and I got it for £660. What do people recommend? hold off paying until I make contact with buyer to clarify what he is selling? Well they have changed their tune after I had an ultra sound as they didn't find a clot, but at the same time they were sure it was a clot of some kind. Anyway, I had a crash on the bike about 6 weeks before this and slammed my shoulder hard. They believe that was the cause, although it had totally healed and was x-rayed at the time with no breaks or dislocation (just muscle bruising I think). As we stand today I was discharged without any medication or explanation really. My arm isn't a pumped as it was but it is still bigger and when I lift my arm into the bicep tense pose all my veins are easily seen in shoulder. A big bruise also appeared in that area (crease between peck and arm) So I went back to GP and they agree its not right still so have requested a CT scan now. I don't use creatine and although I was active during that time I don't think I overdid it, although swinging around at bouldering is def gonna be stressing and stretching that joint. Hopefully the CT reveals an answer, although I'm not hopeful. Judging by my veins their must be a blockage or trapped vein that means blood is having trouble leaving my arm and is overworking the smaller veins, hence them being more prominent.

The polices job is a hell of a lot easier when the public isn't in the way, both to interfere and also to keep them out of accidental danger. The media would have a frenzy if the general public weren't made to stay out of the way and imagine the backlash if the police killed an innocent person during the hunt. That dude who got shot dead on the tube, he was innocent and the backlash was incredible. However I think tough luck to him, I for one would not jump over barriers towards a busy train, with a backpack on followed by police with guns shouting for him to stop weeks or days after 3 suicide bombers basically did the same thing. Surely to avoid all the backlash and embarrassment of killing an innocent man, the government could easily have made up a back story of how he went on terrorist sites, went to a training camp, hated our culture etc....instead they openly said 'we f**ked up' I for one am glad they went with the 'better safe than sorry' tactic. If they had let him run off and he had been a bomber and he ad killed a lot of people, Imagine the backlash then. One of the major side effects of Hypovelemic shock (a state of shock caused when their is a rapid and large loss of blood volume from your circulatory system via internal or external bleeding) is mental confusion along with pale skin and the body stopping the use of anything none vital in its survival, including the body holding onto any fluids possible to fight dehydration. So all in all I guess he is a "normal person" as he is showing all classic signs of shock, the only other way you could see him, would be totally unconscious. As for him looking somewhat similar to injured war veteran, that's just both clutching at straws and completely disgusting and disrespectful! You could also do us all a favour and not only bring mildly arguable evidence to this discussion but also refrain from posting such images. A lot of people do not deal well with images like that, I for one am fine with it, but we are in a community so be aware of your potential audience and their age.

cheers dude, after a bit of research I have gone for a gibbon (as recommended by krazykid) classic, which uses a ratchet system but seems to be of a higher quality so seems trustworthy. Cant wait to try it, and to give my core and stabilisers a good workout. I want to be good at it, but I think I will be pretty shite.

You just sound really angry. Are you bitter about anything in particular to make you hate government? I don't feel like a slave, I can live anywhere I choose to within the EU. I can live in most other countries if I really really wanted to as well. I can choose any job or profession I want to persue in the whole world. I've been in hospital 3 times this year already and every time I received amazing healthcare by the NHS and it didn't cost me a penny (apart from N.I payments which is cheap and you never see). I feel sorry for you if you feel like a slave. I really do. We are so lucky to live how we live, and would be a whole lot worse off without government in my opinion. I'm also not saying some people in power aren't greedy, ego driven pricks, but overall I think they do a good a job as is possible. A country is a business, and Britain is a hugely successful business. Britain along with a lot of countries like America provide the average person with more opportunities and chances of a healthy, happy and successful life than most other countries. I feel like I'm in safe hands. Ye, I moan about this and about that, but its all pretty petty stuff in the bigger picture.

I've randomly decide that getting a slackline would be an awesome combination of fun/core strength/balance/focus. Looked on ebay and amazon and found some cheap ones for around £30, but then I have read that ratchet systems are dangerous. So looked into the 4/5 carabiner systems, which I prefer the look of, but cost adds up. Does anyone do slacklining and can recommend systems/makes/tips etc etc. I can just imagine myself heading out to a park in the summer with a mate, few beers and messing about on the slackline all day in the sun! lil vid of some more pro slackliners for those in the dark on this... Just noticed these are using a ratchet system and this is the world cup final!? Hmmm, seen alot of bad press on ratchets
