  1. If you had to choose one photo of your trials 'career' what would it be? It can just be a favourite photo (or even just a bike)....aslong as it tells a story and brings back memories then it is a winner. So put your favourite up, along with why. I'll go first... I had a mate take a photo for me on my new phone just to check it out a few summers ago, and ever since I have loved it. I even have it as a small canvas in my room now. It somehow totally captures everything I have loved about trials. The drop itself in my early days was the first big drop I did and it took me ages to build to it. The drop is at my old school. Im on my all time favourite bike, set up the best it ever was. The photo is in summer. They were my riding shoes for most of my riding years. It was around the time I enjoyed riding the most and I personally think I look pretty 'decent'. So long after I finish riding trials I will still have this one photo, which for me, sums up my involvment in trials for the last 15 years. And when I am an old git and my grandkids are taking the piss because I can hardly walk, I will dig this picture out and tell them about what I used to do. I'm aware trials doesn't mean as much to them as it does to me, even though i dont ride alot anymore but It's been a big part of my life since I was 11, and I am now 26. So through my whole 'growing up' trials has been a part of it.
  2. enjoyed that. He got skills. Owns that motorbike, makes it look effortless
  3. the hex is a little bit special!

  4. just me then. Colours are gorgeous and overall I think they look sweet as fook
  5. I just found this on youtube. Pretty decent riding, and I personally like the song. Anyone know what bike it is?
  6. Orange bikes on fb have just put one of the pics up (think it's the patriot) having a little dig at it.
  7. Cheers dude, but purchased a hex last night. Just gotta shift my marino now. Thanks for the help.
  8. Evening. Though I would create a thread for people who use Netflix. We all know there is some utter crap on it, but we also know there are some hidden gems. So let us know whatever you have watched and enjoyed. I recently watched two documentaries back to back that I would highly recommend. Pulling john - about a long time undefeated arm wrestling champion named John Brzenk who i dont think has been beaten in 15 or 25 years? Even dudes way bigger than him. But now there are some new, bigger, younger and stronger guys in town!....sounds random I know, but i really enjoyed it. Wait until you see the Russian training! Exit through the gift shop - street art documentary with Banksy in it, and it all centers around a weird frenchman who likes to film everything. He ends up filming all the street artist as they go about their business (like Shepard Fairey, creator of the 'OBEY' brand) but one thing leads to another and somehow he, himself becomes a street artist! Fascinating watch. So fire away, give me some gems to watch. ps- Thought, as everyone has access to catch up TV, then anything worth recommending on there is worth adding too.
  9. Thanks for the help and info dudes. Random idea....Ashton running dual discs with 24" wheels? Would that make sense or be horrible?
  10. old school base! I have no clue how the bb height would affect it to be honest. Its all confusing. as for longer/higher stem. I'm already running 90mm x 35* with 30mm stackers and inspired bars. This bike also gives me a bad back (and I mean last 2 times I rode it I ended up at the osteopath having acupuncture) and I cannot decide if its to do with the bike geo now or me being a crap excuse for a man
  11. haha, just messaged you back dude. its an option for sure but want some info and opinions on it in comparison to my current ride. Saying that......whats the hex like to ride?
  12. I currently own a sweet marino 24" but I also love the thought of having better back wheel control, like on longer bikes. Marino is 1020wb, +35bb, 380, 73* Is there a bike anyone knows of thats a little bit in the middle if you get me? Not after 20", would rather 26", but also consider 24". I dont want super long as I don't think it suits me. Inspired hex? but that may be very similar to what I already have. Ashton? Also if anyone can shed some light, what kind of geo would I be after and what do differences in wheel base, head angle, chainstay length and bb height do individually? If anyone knows of someone or if you have a suitable bike then i may be willing to swap my marino for it. Thanks
  13. I went to the bakery the other day and all cakes were reduced to 30p each! So i picked the one i wanted and went to pay. Baker said "That's £2.20 please" "It says all cakes are 30p?" i replied "Ye...but thats Madeira cake!"

    Tough mudder

Theres parts of the course throughout where electric wires are hanging. But there are alot in the dark underground bit and the first time i went in i didnt know and the first shock i got was on the back of my head. Felt like someone hit me with one of the wooden batons. Its kind of like crawling under a wooden floor space in older homes and there were gaps of light shining in and i just presumed there were people who worked for tough guy just abusing the crap out of us as we crawled through....but they were just electrocuting us instead with hanging wires. There is no way of avoiding them down there either, and you can only go past slowly as you are crawling where as in other parts of the course in the light you can jump/run past them.

    Tough mudder

ive done mad monk and the tough guy. Didnt train for either, tough guy is meant to be one of the toughest out there, i found it very enjoyable and pretty hard at some points but never thought 'i wish i trained for this' There are a fair few bits on the climbing sections where you do realise that if you slip you have a good chance of serious injury or death. The bit i enjoyed least was this underground thing (looks like sme sort of cattle shack from the outside then as you get in it goes dark and dips underground and you have to crawl through muddy water and there is logs all over the floor and wooden batons hanging down then 'WHACK' i thought some tw@ had hit me in the the head but i soon figured out there were a hell of alot of hanging electric wires and you get zapped all over. Once through you have to get through some pitch black long concrete tubes. Cut all my knees and elbows up on them (you cant crawl you have to lay flat and pull with your finger tips and push with your toes) Depending on which race length you choose you have to do it twice Anyway, its not something i feel you need training for, however im not the unfittest bloke in the world, and i have a strong mentality of not quitting. But do them! they are amazing! I also got my favourite pic of me ever and its now a canvas on my wall in my room with my shitty little medal (i'll try post a pic but not sure if it will work as its from fb) ps - i did the summer one, there is a winter tough guy (think it happened last weekend) and i would seriously have to push myself and train for that. I believe a large amount do not finish and alot get hypothermia and cold related injuries and illness. You are in muddy ice covered just above freezing water more than you are out of it, lets put it that way.
  16. The last gif with sound had me with tears in my eyes. Hilarious!! I need to find it as its own video. edit: just remembered the voice is from family guy. Love that show
  17. He probably wanted to apologise in person and shake your hand
  18. ....to tell him the error of his ways
  19. First time I have ever felt useful on this forum.... I am a fire specialist, I install and maintain wood burners and gas stoves. (well did until last week, when i left my job as im going to the jungles of belize for a few months) CO is a killer no doubt about it, and can occur from the burning of any fuel that uses oxygen (isn't that all fuels? - fire triangle and all that jazz). Its when there isnt enough oxygen for complete combustion. CO (one oxygen atom per one carbon) bad, CO2 (two oxygen per one carbon) good! If i have been told correctly, more people have died from solid fuel carbon monoxide related deaths recently than due to gas. Since October 2011 it is a legal requirement with solid fuel powered burners that a CO alarm has to be fixed in the room the appliance is sited upon installation. The same however is not a legal reuirement, more of a recommendation for gas. I personally feel alot safer working with solid fuels than I do with gas, as theres alot more that can go wrong with gas and alot more you have to make sure is right before installing (although the safety features on gas fires these days are ace) As for the glass, it's not ideal and id reccomend changing it but more than it being dangerous it will just make your stove a little less efficient and not so controlable. Don't burn it with the door wide open for two reasons, You can overheat and crack your stove and you have zero control of the fire. May also sound simple but if you get new glass its not normal glass its ceramic glass and you can go to your manufaturer for a new piece but also there are companies that can cut a new glass for you if you provide measurements. I was about to list some more random tips, but just hit me up if you need any advice or aything. Just look after your wood burner and it will look after you basically. Adam
  20. Only 4 more days left at work, not just until Christmas, but forever at the moment. Got loads of fun planned over xmas and new year then Jan 12th I start my expedition leadrership training course and on the 26th I go and live in the jungles of Belize for 3 months solid! Gonna be such an experience! Still loads of prep to do though! Bit nervous.
  21. Flipp and Ali kill it. What bike is Ali on?
  22. i stand corrected, although where did i miss a full stop?
  23. just because you're called mr skechy, doesn't give you the right to rape our language.....also its sketchy* anyway, tyre* tyre* tyre* can't* i was too tyred to check again for more. just ride your bike, you'll save naff all weight, its too much effort and you'll lose alot of grip, which isn't ideal at this time of year!
  24. just awesome really.......

    April Jones

Not sure if its a bit insensitive of me, and i hope she is safe and comes home ok. BUT.... Who lets their 5 year old daughter play outside at 7pm and i presume without adult supervision as no one would just let a 5 year old get into a passing van on the drivers side?! Unless it happened really quick...although ive heard she willingly got in the van? So she was seen getting in the van, why no better description of what van it was etc. Was she playing on her own? with other kids?! I just dont get it....... Also! They have arrested a man on suspicion....he has been named, they have shown his face! If he is guilty then fine! If he is innocent, then that is bang out of order! His life will be affected by all of this, and even if innocent, people wont look at him the same....dont release his name or image until he is found guilty. It's so harsh!!! Makes me angry really. Im sure im missing out alot of the pieces to this story and dont wanna come across as a dick, but my mind boggles
