  1. This may sound silly, but my friends thread-lock the nipples and spokes when they build their wheel.
  2. I know Adam of Tartybikes said something about that once. I'm too lazy to search for it. It was like "blind-folded and backwards" regarding Danny Mac on natural.
  3. I believe it also quite depends on how "worn-out" the cylinder washers are. I stripped one of the mounts cos I thought it needed to be tightened really tight!
  4. Spank on rear, ungrinded! My friend sprayed his Mavic rim with this candy-tone spray paint. It looked "anodised".
  5. Spank would be a good choice. Last I recall they had nice colours like green and brown. Not sure of the weight though. VIZ seems to be very wide at 46mm! Doesn't seem too good for streety moves.
  6. I run 18:14, and Holy Roller 2.4 for both front and rear.
  7. Reminds me of my old frame. It creaked whenever I pedal. Until my friend showed me the chainstay while we rested. It had completely snapped.
  8. mmmm, great colour choice! I like the brown and white, and the green hub! Reminds of me some nice chocolates!
  9. Wow, it sure looks nice, I love the blue bits! May I know what tensioner are you using?
  10. I can manual, and I can't bunnyhop, but I can't bunnyhop to manual! I can do a static 180, and a 270 drop-off, but I'm afraid to even attempt a rolling 180. I'll be very glad if I could pull off the above, though I can't sidehop or tap.
  11. Wow, that was done up really neat! And may I know what fork are you using?
  12. I've been told an interesting tip. There are two variations on how you could fit it in, but both works the same. 1. Take an old tube, cut away the valve section. So it's like a long rubber tube now. Line this tube onto the inside of the tyre. Then fit the new tube in. Or... 2. Take an old tube, cut away the valve section. Then make a slit along the entire tube. Wrap it over the new tube, and fit it in the tyre. I haven't tried it yet, but I figure that option 2 would give sidewall protection than option 1. It should work like a downhill tube, as you're "increasing" the thickness of the tube.
  13. That dark blue Leeson mod.
  14. Beautiful! And an interesting choice of colours - the rims.
  15. Wow, this is really nice. May I know what bar and rims are you using?
  16. I used to have wrist-hurting problems too. Sometimes the left will hurt more, sometimes the right will hurt more. I'm right-handed by the way. I'll just let it rest, try not to ride so often, and wear a wrist guard (it's actually a neoprene wrap). It'll get better in time. I'm Chinese, and there's this Chinese saying that for such wrist pains, you shouldn't drink cold fluids? I still drink anyway. I also do some wrist exercises with some weights, holding them and curling your wrists. (not too sure of the exact term)
  17. Definitely 38. The trialtech ones would be excellent. And those Tioga DH rims on tarty are good too. But some riders are using Sun Rhynolite XLs? Those are 29.5mm. I'm using a 32, which I'm changing to a DX32 soon (that's a 39).
  18. The 24UK is really short, in terms of top tube length. It does feel short to me. As for flicky and trialsy, I believe it quite is, esp if you watch the video of Gabriel P. riding his 24UK (he used to be riding for heatsink, not sure about now), and not to forget Fred Judd. But I believe many would say go for the inspired. I only tried one for like a minute so I can't really comment about it.
  19. Yes yes, but than why do they have inverted mounts for frames? Wouldn't it be a pulling force already? Since the braking force pushing inwards makes the braking stiffer.
  20. Author a-gang 02 model - snapped at chainstay Echo lite 06 model - used for a few months, then sold 24UK - still using
  21. Shimano dura-ace grease (sort of bright translucent green) is best on open bearing hubs. That's my opinion though. I've also seen many many Xc'ers and roadies using it on their open bearing hubs too.
  22. Well I was just saying I shall try it with my old 100mm fork one day too.
  23. I totally love it! And the dual discs too
  24. Well, it's always the case of "the grass is greener on the other side" But I think 100mm is a bit too much? Maybe 60mm or 80mm. Else the BB would be elevated even more?
